Mom had her pacemaker defib. pt in yesterday and she ended up being admitted to the hospital. Hoping she gets released today but, she continues to say she is in a lot of pain ( yet doesn't exactly show the signs of that pain being as high a she says it is). The doctors are running an ECHO this morning. They did CT and EKG lastnight and this morning. both show that all is functioning as expected. They feel she is a little dpressed. She realy wants to go to the nursing home for a week or two...hmmmm
has me wondering if she just wants to have that be her residence. Something for me to talk about to my brothers.

    Short post for now.

okay - now I have to see what GABA is.... @justgirl81 DO You recommend it? From my mini-research, it sounds like its one way to lose a couple pounds. I'm like "sign me up!"

I'm on the fence regarding GABA. I've never heard of it promoting weight loss that I can recall; I used it primarily for sleep.

Decreased appetite was one of the things I read. I guess calming one-self down could also help with weight loss. I also was researching different foods to have to boost it naturaly. such as Miso - I used to have that a lot.

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood by calming the nervous system. It plays a big role in helping you relax, reducing anxiety, and promoting better sleep by slowing down nerve activity. It's particularly useful for countering stress and promoting a balanced mood.

Is it a rehabilitation nursing facility she wants to go to? Where was she living prior to the surgery? At home or with someone else? A nursing rehabilitation facility can be an excellent transition step down period from hospital to home in many cases. I've found that fear, presenting as anxiety and depression can be very common post-op, and transitional care can help with these symptoms.

That's a great idea. I think she would like assisted living...but I don't think she can afford it at all.

She is/was living at home alone. My brother visits and calls her daily - and she is out and about most of the time when it is nice (drives and goes browsing in stores). We are hopeful that if she needs to go to a swing bed or a nursing home for a couple weeks, that they will release her to them. She has done that for the past 2 hostpital stays.

As of this morning(monday) they are not saying she is depressed at all. they ended up finding that they did an oopsie during surgery and she was feeling a post surgical complication. They've managed it. this morning seems to be going well for her. I hope to hear from the doctor report this morning on what we are thinking the next 24-48 hours are.

    🚂Tracking my meals
🥊 Hitting Protein goal of 100+

    Ultimate goal: down 4#
Short term goal: To choose more a nutrient dense foods and less UPF's
and to DO IT because it brings me so much more JOY than I could ever imagine.

I absolutely do hate the guilt, shame and regret from making bad food choices. I want to use november to REMEMBER how less nutrient dense foods (Ultra Processed Foods, aka UPFs) makes me feel emotionally spent and physically spent.

In Oct. I was able to meet my Calorie goal and stay UNDER 66% of the time. I had 10 days where I was OVER. For November, I am setting the goal to be 71% of the time. (I'm just pulling a number out of the hat.)

Virtually weighed in and the scale was down 5#. Took progress photo's for the challenge I am in. I am feeling like I am making progress with this 3 days a week leg work. I'm not really missing all the upper body work too much anymore. Today is physical therapy - The PT was supposed to be chatting with a dr. about my case....I'm excited to hear what he has to say.

@ceebeeslim she is being released to a nursing home today for extra PT/OT - walking, endurance. Crazy how a same day 4 hour procedure turned in to this mess. Never again will I say she can have a procedure done. She obviously cannot handle them.

Thanks for asking. Besides her endurance, she seems to be fine (from what I can tell via text and phone calls). Nurses and doctors say she's 100%

Psalm 91: 4 (NKJV) He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

When life is a struggle, remember that we don’t need to control it all. God loves us, and will provide for us when we’re in need. This may not make our to-do lists disappear, but they are a reminder that stress is a small part of the bigger picture, and God’s reality far exceeds ours.

Hi All. Doing okay nutrition and workout wise. I do find that being so close to the end of the year is keeping me disciplined. I don’t want to end it feeling disappointed or with a bunch of “wouldve, could’ve’ should’ve”s.

More emotionally spent than anything. Dad’s hoarding isn’t call-the- Dept of Health state yet, but it is enough for me to feel the weight and stress of an unkempt home hour by hour. Just no respite anywhere - not even the porch or deck. I just don’t know how to handle it.

When I think “WWJD”, I think God put me here for a reason. Just clean the house and be thankful I have the physical strength to do it. He’s just coping in his own way with my mom’s post stroke dementia the best he can. Be compassionate.

THEN I think - NO! Enough of this toxic positivity!! How can he see this is not good and he’s so selfish to have me clean his mess. I have enough on my own plate.

    Sigh. I’m so glad I don’t drink. 🤣😩

    Morning inspo:

Every single one of us deviates from our nutrition and
exercise plan from time to time, whether it’s unplanned
snacks or one-pound burgers, extra fries, and a 20 ounce
    shake.

    We’re not robots, we’re human.
Our behavior is more complex than simply “doing the thing and making no mistakes.”

Plus, there’s a whole middle ground that gets completely
overlooked when the only options are: 0 or 100.

More often than not, I’d argue that all-or-nothing
    leaves you with, well,
    nothing.

Those who WIN and accomplish their goals are those who:
    focus consistently on:
    doing their best,
    learning from mistakes,
    and getting back to consistency

Essentially, what separates those who succeed
    from those who fail is
how they respond to the screw ups.

From now on, I want you to embrace this:
    1. Mistakes happen.
    2. Learn from them, grow from them.
    and
    3. Never let a few mistakes keep you from getting
    back on track.

Mom is in the Nursing home but is h having bouts of diarrhea and nausea. I'm sure its medication related. She also has a UTI - they adjusted her meds yesterday and changed her over to Cipro for the UTI - I'm praying *hard* to God that this is what will give her relief and resolve the diarrhea issue. There is nothing I can do, but simply pray and trust in the Lord that this is all for good.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Today has its own challenges and worries. But God is with us and will give us what we need for today.
