    Fun Fact:
    THANKSGIVING DAY
Thanksgiving Day is observed each year in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. The observance is a time when families and friends gather and give thanks for many reasons, each often as different as each person who gathers around the table.
In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that many acknowledge today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. However, it wasn’t until 1863, amid the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.

@Tabatha_Cain I actually got the person I wanted for the exchange .I have all these brand new rustic lights. She is that person who does Xmas overload. She's also getting married next September. I was going to give her all the white lights anyway. It's A backyard wedding at their farm. I am at the age where I can let things go. I always say if I moved would I take this with me? Everything in my bedroom would go. All the other rooms it's like possibly half or less. Basement is like absolutely nothing. Hubs is a hoarder.

Today was a rough day for my parents. I resorted to a mug of cocoa to calm the sad emotions. My one co-worker lost her mom recently only 58. She was having a rough day. She informed me she was having wine, cocoa wasn't going to cut it.

SO SORRY I POOFED! When I do that its either I am so busy with (right now helping to set up the winter challenge) or I am not well. It was a combo of both!! Not sure if I've updated the "latest" I found out last week, along with diastolic heart failure I now also have angina.

@Sweetpeasmom55, LOLOLOL OH MY!!! A WHAT steamer? Best laugh of the day!! Nice job on the rules for the work xmas. Oh, I should check into the stretching classes online offered by Silver Sneakers!! I can do them at home of course. TY TY TY for the idea!!!
I'm sorry that today was rough. My Mom passed when I was 32, my Dad I was 55, but I do miss them so much. More so on holidays, though I do not celebrate them now. I still miss them. Not many can say "If you could pick your parents again, would you pick the same ones?" YES YES YES!!! I SURE WOULD!! I am a great combination of them both.
@Tabatha_Cain, I hope today was very good!! Did you and Joe go out to eat or eat with others? I do not celebrate thanksgiving; I am thankful every day. I don't need a "special" day to be such. This AM I met with friends on zoom there were 9 to 12 of us at times, we were in and out. We got to laughing at times hard, in between any serious chat. That was fun!! After one of them called and chatted more!! It tired me out so badly zzzz. Later I went upstairs (high rise) to help a neighbor. Now that's giving hehehehehe!!
I'm also thinking of going into maintenance also! I've gone from 288 lbs to 179. I am feeling so much better with movement, but my body is not a happy camper. You have done AMAZING Tabatha!!
@Patti241, I've had vertigo and it's HORRIBLE!! Positional? Meaning that if you move into a comfier position, it is not as bad, or even goes away? I'm so sorry you are going through that. Did they give any meds for it? I did see an acupuncturist to help, and it did. My insurance did cover it because it was done by an MD. Many larger Dr offices have them now. WOW! I am so happy I tried that!
@sunshineyourway, did you enjoy the day? Was the weather nice enough? I live in Maine, but on the ocean along the southern coast we had RAIN ALL DAY right now there's a snow mixed in, but not sticking. Inland and up the coast a way they got snow. LOL Some as much as 6 to 10 "s.

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you all are doing well this morning. Today is Friday, and well it is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. I am not shopping. I am working. I have already gotten my stuff bought and shipped to me that I want to get the kids for Christmas. I opted to work today. So I get paid holiday pay for 8 hours and I also get paid time and a half for the actual hours I work. I think I just work a normal schedule today so that is good. Yesterday we went to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving and ate there and then we went to Joe's parents where we can take the puppy with us. Oh she had so much fun. She played with Joe's 2 nieces outside for a bit even though it was snowing and wet and cold. It was pretty great actually. I struggle though letting her go off by herself because here at home she gets on the furniture and at their house they don't allow animals on the furniture. So that is my thing. I am not sure Joe likes having her on the furniture either, but I need a cuddle buddy on my couch when he is at work.

@Patti241 - Vertigo is yucky. They do have a physical therapy for that. It is called Vestibular Therapy. I did really well with it, hubby did decent with it. So that would be something to look into.
@SweetPeasMom55 - That is awesome that you got the person you wanted to get. I know all about hoarding. My son's Dad used to hoard. Took me forever to get rid of his stuff after we broke up. So I know how hard it is for people to let stuff go. I am so sorry for your parents and your co worker.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Oh no. Another heart issue. I am so sorry. Thank you. Joe and I went to my Mom's first and then to his parents with Chloe. We will not be doing that again. I think we will just stick to one family per holiday and alternate. That was way easier. On the way home for the evening though Joe and I talked about what we were Thankful for this year and he said his wife and that he has a home and his kids are talking to him and we are happy. I feel the same way. I have a husband and I have a home. It is going to be great. I just know it is.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Friday

Diane: It is what they call positional vertigo. It will go away but do not know how long until it does. They did prescribe Meclizine for it and that makes you drowsy.

Tabatha: I will look into that type of therapy for it.

    SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
Small Business Saturday reminds us of the prime shopping opportunities right in our own communities. Not only do the small businesses where we work, live, and play offer numerous gift-giving possibilities, they are hands-on and ready to complete your shopping list with quality, thoughtful gifts.
Every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the Shop Small movement energizes small business owners to prepare for customers in every way possible. That includes the traditional brick-and-mortar customer and the online shopper. The single-day event continues to grow each year. That means business owners are ready for you to shop their stores!

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Saturday and I am not sure I am really feeling up to anything today even though I know I have to go out and door dash to make some more money. We are desperate for some money right now. I am struggling really hard core. We don't even have enough money for bills and that is rough.

@Patti241 - I do hope it helps you.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - I am glad you saw the PA and got some questions answered. Chloe had a great time. I am going to do just one family a year from now on.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday

    NATIONAL SPECIAL EDUCATION DAY
On December 2nd, National Special Education Day recognizes changes in federal legislation that led to the nation's first federal special education law.
    #SpecialEducationDay
Beginning in 1971, a U.S. District Court case in the District of Columbia, Mills v. Board of Education, ruled it unlawful to deny exceptional children, including those with mental and learning disabilities, publicly funded educational opportunities. Court cases like this led to the 1975 Education for All Handicapped Children Act. President Gerald Ford signed the legislation into law on November 29th, 1975. The federal legislation required states that accept federal money to provide equal access to children with disabilities. In 1986, legislators added protections to support parents and educators in creating an education plan for children with disabilities. Then, in 1990, the Education for All Handicapped Children Act was renamed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and improved access for all children with developmental delay. Through the years, the act has been enhanced to improve services and standards throughout the educational system.

Hi all - happy Monday. I started a 29 day Holiday challenge with Better 5. It started yesterday. I started a couple of years ago making my own weight chart. The first of every month (starting Jan 1), I weigh and record. I found this helps and encourages me because the wt. loss is more visible. Weekly weights are good and daily but they verify much and can at times be disappointing. Since Jan 1, I have lost 9 lbs. Just thought I would mention that. Tomorrow we go to the specialist. We leave at 5:30 am (the clinic is in Oklahoma City.). More than likely I won't be checking in tomorrow. Hugs all.

    NATIONAL COOKIE DAY
National Cookie Day on December 4th serves up a sweet treat. Bakers across the country warm up the ovens for holiday baking, and we enjoy giving tins of cookies to friends and family all season long.
    #NationalCookieDay
We can thank the Dutch for more than windmills and tulips. The English word "cookie" is derived from the Dutch word koekie, meaning "little cake." Hard cookie-like wafers have existed for as long as baking has been documented. Not surprisingly, they traveled well, too. However, they were usually not sweet enough to be considered cookies by modern-day standards. The origin of the cookie appears to begin in Persia in the 7th century, soon after the use of sugar became common in the region. They then spread to Europe through the Muslim conquest of Spain. Cookies were common at all levels of society throughout Europe by the 14th century, from the royal cuisine to the street vendors. Cookies arrived in America in the 17th century. Macaroons and gingerbread cookies were among the popular early American cookies. In most English-speaking countries outside of North America, the most common word for cookie is "biscuit." In some regions, both terms, cookies, and biscuits are used.
Cookies are classified into different categories, with the most common ones being:
Bar cookies – Drop cookies – Filled cookies
Molded cookies - No bake cookies
    Pressed cookies - Refrigerator cookies
    Rolled cookies – Sandwich cookies

Good evening all, happy mid week. Yesterday was a very long day. We left at 5:30 am, it was so dark we missed the highway we were supposed to take and took the road before, had to go all around and finally go on S27 highway. We got to the hospital at 9:45 and didn't leave until around 3. We got home at 6:15pm, picked up Kayla. They took chest x-ray, blood work, urine sample. The dr. told us Don would need more surgery because their was an very invasive tumor and so far hadn't reached the lymph nodes so surgery was needed. He will have surgery on the 19th of Dec. We will go back to Oklahoma on the 18th and it all goes well he will be released on the 20th. The surgery will be around 2 - 3 hours. The day care center for Kayla gives a report card and she got a good one. They sent a picture of her outside playing
