@katmary71 that's a whole lot of tests you have in the works! Have fun at your party tomorrow🥳

@trooworld after your surgery and recovery, your husband will have to try to keep up to you!
Ty is doing good with agility, when she is confident in the moves she is making she really turns on the turbo chargers!
How lovely that your friend made you a needlepoint, was it of Daisy or Violet?
I will be thinking about you tomorrow and sending all good thoughts and wishes your way!

@TeresaW2024 I hope you and Joe had a great day out of the house, it is so nice to get out and about. I have never even heard of a vibration plate.

Well Ty had another scare last night at agility. She was chased by a big dog, but he really just wanted to play. Problem is, as soon as she sees a big dog, she starts running away and even if they are friendly they are thinking "game on!" It took her longer to recover this time than it has before, probably because this is the fourth scare. I couldn't get her in the car to go to her class this morning, so I just left it. She hopped right in with Vannie when it was time for Vannie's class, so I just went with it. I was thinking I would just have her in a crate on the sidelines where she would be nice and safe. It was a relatively quiet class with smaller dogs and she wanted to take part. Shauna, the breeder, brought some of her little dogs for Ty to play with. After class, she got to play with three little Papillons, she wasn't sure at first, but had a good time when she settled in.
I took my mom to get her new hearing aids yesterday. She keeps playing with them, then texting me and telling me that they're broken and would I please go over and fix them. Between Ty and my mom it was a very stressful day. I only have my grandchildren's presents, nobody else and I am having 20 people for Christmas supper. Today I planned on doing a lot of shopping and starting to organize my house for Christmas. I barely got anything done😔. Except breakfast, I ate takeout the rest of the day, not a good eating day at all.
Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully I won't have any distractions.
When I first started agility with Ty, she would be in her crate, waiting for her turn, screaming. I finally have her so she is quite quiet, now she just lays there and moans like she is giving birth 🤣. This is her waiting for her turn last night (before the scare) with her little nose pressed right up on the door😂

    Reminder For Tomorrow's Weigh In: @baodell17724 @Digger61 @gemwolf110

Sorry gang I had my work party last night and was exhausted when I got home so I didn't post the weigh in update yesterday.

@trooworld Thinking of you and hoping you're not in too much pain!

@trooworld How long do you need to abstain from caffeine? You'll definitely need to take measurements after surgery. Thinking of you and praying you're in as little pain as possible! We definitely want to know how you are but if you need a little break we understand.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! I've followed Kalyn's Kitchen for quite awhile, I tend to forget about her but she does have great recipes. How exciting I loved using the vibration plate at the clinic, I think you'll love it! Even if you can only get Joe to stand holding on it's worth it but you can stand in different positions. One of the practitioners was concerned about my hardware and fusing so I just did it for short periods of time.

@laurelfit57 Yikes you did have quite a challenging day I'm sorry to hear about poor Ty and your Mom. I love that photo of her! I probably would've eaten all the cookies in the house after that.

Hi friends! The work party last night was fun, I was hurting a lot so I only stayed for a couple hours but helped set up. The farm manager and I talked Wednesday and I'd mentioned a farm party, we threw one together this morning and everyone contributed but it was 47 degrees and I'm ridiculously sensitive to cold as my body stinks at regulating temperature (had long johns, 32 degree undergarments, jeans, a sweatshirt, coat, and gloves and was still cold). I rescued a bunch of seedlings and am going to repot and drop them off at Take A Plant stands, hate seeing them thrown away and I'm sure some people would love to grow them. I'm going to get the rest of my gifts wrapped, Jasper's been playing in the tissue paper and I need to get everything put away and clean the house. Have a great Saturday!

    @trooworld get well soon!

    Question for the group:

This might sound silly, but what do I have to do to lose weight?

    - Count calories and stick to a reasonable goal
    - Eat 3 meals a day
    - Get regular sleep
    - Drink water
    - Exercise regularly

Is this it? I think I'm struggling because I have stress/anxiety/anger/trauma that I am not managing well. But I guess if I work on that then I can do the things on my list a little easier?

I want to just eat when I'm hungry but then I don't know when to stop, and then I'm not necessarily eating because I'm hungry - there are all these repressed emotions in the mix.

Thanks for reading my rant  Go Slimpossibles Go!

@laurelfit57 Yikes, I hope you can get all your shopping done and find some time to relax. However, I imagine that won’t happen for you until after your family's Christmas supper. 🙂

@Katmary71 I’m excited to get the vibration plate, too. Joe and I both do way to much sitting so I’m thinking we could use it in the afternoon when he gets up from his nap and I’ve been puzzling. :) That great that the work party was fun. Too bad about getting too cold to stay longer. I can see you rescuing those little sad plants. <3 Ohhh thanks for the update on trooworld. I thought about her so much yesterday and wondered how she is doing. I’m glad you are in communication with her. :)

@bobboyardee There is much more than just doing the list of items you mentioned to lose weight, despite that being the basic list. But until you fix the emotional side of why you can’t stick to the list, then you never will. There are all kinds of ways to help with that. I’m currently doing Jason Seib’s Diligent Mind Self-Care. It does cost me to do his program, but he has helped me see the mental side of why I struggle with my weight. He will do a free Facebook week called Weakless Week, starting in January if you are interested. My main rule is to NEVER give up on yourself and keep striving toward your goals. :)

Good morning! It’s been a great couple of days. Joe and I went out Thursday and ran some errands. Then, we went downtown to our favorite Native American store, where he bought me a lovely abalone and gold cross necklace and matching earrings. We were going to go to more stores after lunch, but the traffic was horrible, and we couldn’t find a parking spot close enough for Joe, so we went back out yesterday morning. We got Maggie some toys at TJ Maxx and yummy treats at the fancy grocery store we only go to once a year. We also had lunch at the new restaurant, First Watch, which had just opened. The best part was that Joe felt great, had no dizziness, and was so happy that he got to take his best girl out for Christmas. I’m thanking God this morning for this sweet blessing. :)

@bobboyardee If you had told me how much inner work I'd have to do so I could keep weight off I may not have ever lost it! Not that I'm doing that great now but I've grown a lot more than I could've imagined. I'd say all of the things you mentioned are important, the 3 meals though is more what works for you. Are you seeing a psychologist (don't need to answer something for you to think about)? For me it was helpful when I first started losing weight and to get me through the tougher times, you do tend to unravel a lot of mental issues (my worst was right before I hit goal I was bingeing). On eating when hungry this is where you can practice mindful eating and eat then wait 20 minutes to make sure you're really still hungry before getting seconds. Chewing a certain amount of times or putting your fork down and not doing anything else when eating can help you go slower. If you have time I'd honestly think either or in addition to therapy journaling can help work through the issues. An example with me is when my pain is bad I feel hopeless because aside of the ER I can't get help fast which makes me feel like I'm trapped and can't do anything so I'm more likely to binge. Of course this group is awesome at understanding too!

@TeresaW2024 I woke up and kicked myself for not wishing her good luck the night before but sent lots of prayers her way. Aw I love hearing Joe's been feeling great and enjoyed taking you out, I bet the jewelry is beautiful! So happy you two had such a great time.

Hi friends! Boy I told Chris I'd check in more and I just managed to dump boiling browned butter on my arm and hand when my cast iron pan slipped and I knocked over the measuring glass I was pouring it into (cup of melted butter on the floor was a mess to clean up though a lot was on my flannel). I followed Dr. Google and ran cold water over it for 15 minutes and now my forearm and outer hand's wrapped in saran wrap, I'm charging my phone in case I need to go to the ER. It hurts pretty bad especially my pinky finger but as long as I don't rest my hand on the desk I can type, this is what I get for wanting to make more cookies! Salad would never burn me like that (chopping risks there of course)! I had brunch with two neighbors, I got all excited to clean the house to invite them over next and was cleaning when browning the butter. Guess I need to get those cast iron rubber handles after this accident. Did good with exercise and not the best with food. I offered to treat my friend from the charity to lunch to celebrate the end of her cancer treatments and she chose ice cream instead and some of the other women from the charity will be coming. They did Let It Snow today where kids came and shopped which I miss being part of and can't wait to hear about. Anyhow hang in there everyone, have a great Sunday!

Hey I just finished The Craving Cure by Joann Ross, for those of you with bingeing issues I recommend it. It goes into amino acids/neurotransmitters and why we crave certain things. I talked about it before the functional medicine practitioner I trade office work/treatment with targets this too. It's fascinating how it can help addicts but like in my case my GABA was low which makes you feel like you need to be constantly be doing things, are exhausted and in fight-or-flight, and crave rest but never feel rested. So in my case I had comfort cravings and would want chocolate. The cool thing with these is you don't have to take them for a long time it balances out and you can go off it. It worked pretty fast for me too and I took a low dose. If any of you would want to do a group book reading let me know as I think it would be a lot of fun. There's a questionnaire in the book and her website you take to learn what may be worth targeting. Anyhow I recommend her books, when my practitioner teaches about this she lets us all try the animo acids then we wait a bit to see if we feel a difference. Amazing it works so fast too. She also has The Mood Cure, The Diet Cure, and I think there's another but can't think of it. I'm currently trying to help my Seasonal Affective Disorder and am taking Vitamin D, can't wait for spring!

I'm so ready to get this surgery out of the way. Since I'm off of pain killers right now, that knee is cutting up. I'm on crutches and it's not a joke. I haven't been downstairs in my house in two days and probably will not go until Christmas since family is coming. I'm so thankful for my husband stepping up and getting things done. Blessings everyone!!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Oh, good idea. Thanks! I hope your day out went well. I hope you enjoy the vibration plate. Wow, I bet that necklace and earrings are beautiful! I'm glad the day went great.

    @askewcr @Cornanda @gemwolf110 @19shmoo69 Great job!

@laurelfit57 I hope so! LOL I'm glad to hear Ty is doing good with agility. It was Violet. I will attach a picture. It's actually counted cross stitch! I messed that up. Thank you! I'm sorry about Ty's scare. Poor baby. I'm glad she had a good time with the Papillons. Sorry about the stress. I hope you have a less-stress day today! HAHAHA that picture! She's adorable.

@Katmary71 Thanks for thinking of me. I am doing great! I have to abstain from caffeine for 30 days. I can do it (I hope!). I'm sorry you are in pain right now. Have a great day! Thanks for the report on how I did. I appreciate it! Oh my gosh, boiling brown butter, are you okay?

@bobboyardee Thank you! I think your list of things to do is a good start.

Hi all. I'm back! I feel pretty good. Just a slight discomfort in my belly. The surgeon said it was a textbook case, with no problems at all. They are very pleased with how it went. I bet it helped to stick to the liver-shrinking diet. I'm glad I did so well. I got home yesterday at about 2 pm. I've been sleeping a LOT. Most of the time, in fact. I am able to swallow liquids with no problem. Things are well. I can't believe I've had my surgery! Now, to go rest...and here's a picture of the counted cross stitch that my friend made me for Christmas...

@Katmary71 Ohhh my goodness, I’m so sorry you got burned! I’ve had a bad burn before and know how bad it can hurt. I hope you stay out of the ER. <3 The Craving Cure sounds like a fascinating book. I read some reviews and now have the book in my cart. I might be down for a book study. I am interested in those amino acids! :)

@askewcr I’m sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you can still enjoy Christmas with your family. :)

@trooworld Yayy, I am so happy that everything went so well for you! Now do everything you are told so you can heal and get on with your awesome New Year!! That pug cross-stitch is so cute! :)

Happy Christmas Eve Eve!!! Yesterday’s baptism and potluck went well. I’ve decided to stop feeling guilty that I no longer help with the cleanup like I did for so many years. Now I take my crockpot and feeble husband and go home like the other old people! :D Today, I need to run to the office, do some work, and drop off the candles for tomorrow night's Christmas Eve service. Then I’m having lunch with my bestie. I hope she loves her new hunting sweatshirt! Have a great day! :)

WOW! Look at us! Way to go, Slimpossibles!!! A special nod goes to @lislisa123 @askewcr and @Cornanda for leading the way! Woot woot!

@morenin I hope you are feeling better.

@laurelfit57 Thank you! I am doing super.

@Coranda I am at home...that didn't work out lol (nothing bad happened, she just was thinking she would let me have the house to myself and she would go to LA to see family while I was here and I said I might as well be at home). I love the cross stitch!

@TeresaW2024 I am definitely going to follow instructions. I don't want anything going wrong! Thank you, I love it! I'm glad you don't feel guilty anymore. Have fun with your bestie!

Hi all. I am doing well. I need to call the surgeon's office as I have some questions about my recovery (for one: when can I drive?). I'm trying not to take any pain pills as I know that will delay when I get to drive. I'm in a little pain: just the shoulder/collarbone area from gas pains. Other than that, I'm doing really well.
