@vegan4lyfe2012 I’m so happy you are getting your house back!! You will get it back the way you like it in no time. I’m also glad Hunter loves her new place, and I hope she realizes how much she owes you and how grateful she should be. Girl, I would take that 1 pound too!! :D

@Katmary71 Thanks for the weight reminder! I forgot and already drank a glass of water and a cup of coffee, so I just gave myself what I saw yesterday on the scale. I gotta get back in the scale habit again. :) Ugh on the moths! You definitely gotta get those out of your home before you have a real issue. Good luck with your terrified kitty!

@DrewsAnna wonderful NSV and one I’m eagerly looking forward to. :)

@micaroo4 Wahhooo on being back in maintenance range! :star:

Good morning! Ugh, on my weight, but it is what it is and I’m here to own it and make the changes I must make. Today is our last eating event. We will have pizza and finish off the beers and whatever sweets are living in the house. Tomorrow, it all gets thrown out, and healthy eating will begin. My sister and I are planning a kitchen/pantry cleanout and reorganization event either later today or tomorrow. But first I need to get ready and run to the office and Aldi. Have a great day! :) a

@Katmary71 – I’ve watched Byron & Brayden several random times – like for Hunter to go shopping alone. Also watched them for a weekend when Hunter & Michael went away for their anniversary. So I really hope you give Ohio Tea Co a try – they are my #1 favorite tea store. Plus, they are a small, family-owned business. And you can see my favorites on my list 😊 Sucks about the moths. Hope you can eradicate them quickly. Good luck with the new roomie!

    @DrewsAnna – Awesome NSV!

@micaroo4 – We knew you’d get back into range super fast 😊 You are an inspiration!

@TeresaW2024 – Thanks for being an awesome cheerleader for me! I hope your sister sticks to your plan. I think you said before that she likes to bring home beers and snacks sometimes and you feel obligated to indulge with her? Sorry if I’m mistaken. I just felt like your sister is to you how Hunter is to me (when she was living with me). We gotta stand firm!

    @trooworld – I’m so curious about your closet dividers…can you share a picture? I can’t picture a Cricut big enough…

Heading into this new year with hope. Hope for baby Amelia’s heart valve to be easily fixed with no open heart surgery. Hope for eating healthier (which will help me in my weight loss). Hope to get 33% of my credit card debt paid off (doing the Ramsey plan). Hope for happiness and health for my mother, children and grandchildren. Hope. That’s my word for 2025. What is your word?

Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?
I set goals every year. My 2025 goal is a No-Spend January (that I’m hoping will last longer). I have an 8 ½ x 11 yearly calendar that is a 1 month spread (1 month on 2 pages). I will give myself a green smiley-face if I don’t purchase something each day. My biggest splurges I want to stop are nail polishes/products (over 600 polishes plus lots of press-ons and hundreds of stamping plates), crafting items (room is bursting…I’ll allow adhesive purchases only), and movies (I have over 200 DVDs and Blu-rays that I’ve bought but haven’t watched yet…so no buying more until I watch these first). If I do purchase something, I'm going to write it down along with the cost of it. I have got to get my finances in order before I retire in 4 years.

    2025 is MY year!

Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?
I usually set 30-day habit goals. My January goals are 20 Strength Training workouts, 20 Cardio workouts (other than walking), 20 Yoga workouts,
and Declutter the kitchen (other rooms will follow in subsequent months). I use a habit tracker calendar (paper) to keep track of some things. My Garmin keeps track of the workouts, along with the walking. On the paper habit tracker, I track my sleep (hours and sleep quality) my energy level in the morning, my weight, my blood pressure, and the number of servings of fruit, greens, and other vegetables.

The check engine light in my car came on the other day. I had it into the shop today and learned that it needs a new catalytic converter. Very expensive. But the car is in good shape for its age, so I'm going ahead with the repair. 2024 has been the most expensive year of my life!!

This year I am doing a Bingo Goals card for January and then another for the 2025 year as a whole. I have a list of non-food related rewards (like a pair of my favorite socks, sports massage, new leggings, etc) for when I make Bingo. I'm actually excited about it and hope to black out the entire January board.

    Maintenance Goal 135 - 140
Weeks in maintenance 52 of 52

    CW: 138.4

This is my second year maintaining my weight within my goal range. It was challenging at times, but overall, it was good. I get lots to eat and for me that means one big meal a day plus a snack and dessert later. It works for me I don't miss breakfast, and if I do then I just eat some of my lunch earlier in the day.

I rode my bike today, just a quick ride. I changed the intensity to be more of a workout for me, but my Fitbit is not reporting any exercise. Maybe I need a new Fitbit. My birthday is in Feb I will ask for a new one for my gift. But I have to pick it out first and send a link to my husband.

My overweight cat needs a trip to the vet so they can shave her but. I need to make that appointment soon.

Happy New Year's Eve everybody. Let's have a better year next year.

    @DrewsAnna Congratulations!

@micaroo4 Woohoo way to go on being back in range!

@TeresaW2024 Oh no I hate when I forget to weigh before drinking coffee! You got this, wtg on planning the cleanout and reorganization I'm curious to hear how it goes.

@trooworld Love the idea of closet dividers I want to see!

DO YOU SET YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR? IF SO, HOW DO YOU KEEP TRACK OF THEM? Great question I'm still deciding mine but for the most part it's eating healthy and exercising with the intention of healing my body more this year. The only clearly defined one is getting under 150 as my body has less issues with blood sugar and pain levels/inflammation.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I saved a pic of your favorite teas, how did you hear of them? I love all the spicy sounding ones. Thank you! I love your word for 2025 they're great things to hope for.

@micaroo4 Oh no I'm glad you're able to get your car repaired and sorry to hear of the cost.

@AprilRaineyBattle I love how you're doing bingo goals, those are fun rewards too! I never thought I'd get so into cool print leggings vs just wearing black.

Hi team! The foggers went well, Asher likes being in the garage but Jasper was terrified, they were finally settling down when UPS came and the driver was singing up to the door and both cats were shaking and hiding. I got the garden bed planted, the president was late so I ended up doing it by myself which was actually super fun. I dropped off the extra seedlings to Take a Plant stands and gave my SIL some for her garden. Their dog was loving the taste of the B1 powder I put on them to help them root, she was pulling them out then licking up the dust to the point they had to get her away from the garden so she didn't eat it all. I did the charity's last edit of minutes as I wanted to be able to have it all gone in 2025 and caught up on work. Next up is a bath then I'll probably go to bed early (and be woken up by fireworks(. Happy New Year!

Hi, I go by Morenin! I am currently a homemaker, living in the Pittsburgh area with my spouse, my eldest living aunt, a senior dog, and 3 cats. I am a gamer, reader, and cross stitcher. I tend to be an introvert, but I'm trying to open up to people more.

I am getting into cooking more to help with my health, save money, and because I have problematic food allergies. I've fallen down on eating well this last month, so I am going to try to be better about both tracking my food, and choosing well for both me and my family. If I make better food available, they will eat it usually. I am getting back into chair yoga and walking. I'm not sure about going back to the gym, but mine is right down the street and 24 hour, so I probably should. I gained a little weight back over the holiday season, and can't fit in my brand new smaller shirts right now. So fitting back in them is the first mini goal of 2025!

"Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?"

I set some general goals, this year to take care of myself better. Then I set monthly goals to work towards that can change from month to month. I use my Fitbit to track activity, and MFP to track food.

I came to MFP a few years ago, when the sun set on SparkPeople. When I first joined SparkPeople (2007), it asked members to sign a pledge.
I promise to make healthy and positive choices so that I can reach my goals and live a healthy lifestyle.
I wrote it and sign it and date it every year to renew my commitment to myself.

@trooworld What a cool idea to divide your clothes up by size! My closet is large, and it’s filled with so many clothes sizes 12 to 2X, and I really need to organize them. Or I could just lose my weight and only have one size. What a concept!! :D

@vegan4lyfe2012 You are correct that one of my obstacles is my sister. But she has also regained much of her weight and plans to get serious this year. Let’s cross our fingers it last! :) I love your word. I hope that in 2025, you get everything you are hoping for and even more! <3 I’m also going to do a no-spend January! My bank account needs a fast break, just like my body does from sugar. :D

@micaroo4 I like the idea of setting 30-day habit goals! I have a list of rooms to declutter, and today is the kitchen! The junk food is! Gotta get the junk food outta here! :) Sorry about your car and having to spend so much money on it.

@AprilRaineyBattle, I love the Bingo Goals plan and the fact that you will reward yourself with non-food stuff. Just focus on your goals and the fact that you deserve to have a blacked-out Bingo card! :)

@FushiaKat, two years of maintaining your weight is awesome, and you have such good habits in place so that the weight stays off! :)

@Katmary71 Oh, your poor kitties! Why is your garage so scary! :#:D How funny is the dog licking the B1 powder off the plants? Poor little plants! :D

@micaroo4 I love that pledge and your commitment to yourself every year! I think I will steal your awesome idea for myself. :)

Happy New Year!! I was in bed before 10 pm and up at 6 am. Today, I will clean out the kitchen and reorganize it. That is if my wrist can hold up. Some of you will remember that a few months ago, I damaged the tendons in my right wrist, which caused a condition called De Quervain's tenosynovitis. I ended up paying a considerable amount of money for a cortisol shot. Well, I thought the problem was solved, but a few weeks ago, the pain started back up. I’ve been wearing a brace at night, which helps some, but I think I might have to pay again for another shot. Ugh! In other news, I have picked my 2025 word for the year. And that word is….Simplicity! I want all areas of my life to be intentional and uncomplicated. My motto is going to be less is more! Less food, less spending, less excuses, less stress! Let’s have an amazing 2025!! :star:B)

Question: Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?

My yearly goal is always to reach a healthy weight and improve my fitness. Doing it for the whole year is my big 2025 goal! I had stepped away from the scale for a few months, but I am returning to it for the accountability that it gives me. I have a few tracking apps for weight and body measurements. I also have an exercise tracking sheet to record my workouts.

Happy New Year! As part of my resolution to take better care of myself, I've joined a challenge on Down Dog app, doing 15 minutes of chair yoga a day. Day 1 complete! I have been eating far too much sugar and not nearly enough protein, so revising my meals will be the next step.

@morenin Please feel free to share recipes and workouts, we learn so much from each other! Way to go on the chair yoga, I've heard great things about Down Dog. I'm with you time to up protein and lower carbs and sugar.

@micaroo4 I love the Spark People pledge that's awesome, thank you for sharing.

@TeresaW2024 I sprinkle the B1 in the hole the seedlings were going in prior to planting and Penny was pulling them out and licking it up. The time before she was glued to my burn bandage she's definitely keeping us on our toes. I love your yearly word that's a good one! Hm going for the whole year and making each day count, let's brush ourselves off and do this!

@trooworld Goals vs resolutions is a good choice, I agree it is different. That sounds like a great planner! I absolutely love your new machine that's a great mug! I'm sure I asked you this before but don't recall the answer, have you thought of opening at Etsy shop? I'm so glad the protein helped fast! I like your labels too I'm working on getting more organized and that makes me happy seeing them.

@19shmoo69 My music of 4'33 was the cat fountain and listening to the symphony of water splashing has me needing to go to the bathroom. What do you hear?

@gemwolf110 Thank you, have a healthy and happy New Year!

@DrewsAnna Happy New Year, that's a gorgeous photo of the Space Needle!

    @bobboyardee Great seeing you!

@lisalisa123 Hugs you got this, I'm starting fresh again today too let's rock 2025! Yes no 300s for you, you worked hard to get out of those!

Hi friends! I haven't had much time to think on goals but I definitely want to get down 20lbs, declutter most of the house, and eat a lot healthier/work out regularly to heal as much as a can. My roommate's car is on the fritz and in the shop by her son's house so she just dropped off her stuff and left. I'd run out and bought flowers for her room (totally forgot Trader Joe's may not be open and it was NOT so I ended up at Safeway). Tomorrow's my appointment at the burn unit, now that it's almost all peeled aside of it all being red and purple it looks really good. Pretty fascinating aside of doing exactly what I was told I've used micro current to calm inflammation and regenerate tissue at least once a day, that's one area with a lot of evidence it helps (lessens wound healing time) so Yvonne letting me borrow a $1200 tool to use with it means a lot to me and I'm grateful. Sacramento's Natural Food Coop is right by there so I may stop and check it out after though my appointment is at 8AM (about 40 minutes away) so as long as it's open by then. Got back on track with workouts and eating today and drinking water.

I'm thinking on a challenge or going back to logging my No Zero Days which I think is great for getting goals done and for looking for the good in every day. What do you all think? @trooworld and @micaroo4 ?

OK, this is going to be hit or miss because there are Lots! of posts (yay!) and I'm already so far behind. And it's just about time to get on my step and get the heart pumping.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - I'm glad you got your house back. Thank you for posting Kismet- she is beautiful and petting a cloud sounds nice

@trooworld- bet you've never been so happy to be called droopy drawers-. Nice work!

@katmary71- hope the burn appt goes well

@katmary71 @19shmoo69 - now you have me curious about the music..... OK, ya got me!

@FushiaKat - I got a new watch for Christmas and I decided not to go with Fitbit, even though I'm still a fan. Google seems to be phasing them out. I got an Amazefit watch- it was reasonably priced and I'm happy with it. Also, I have read (but not researched) that fitness devices have trouble picking up biking because your hands are stationary- you could try putting it on your ankle and see if that fixes it.

@TeresaW2024 - love all the excitement and healthy energy in your house. Tendinitis sucks! My hip is still not 100%, but I can deal with it- been going on since April. DH has some in his elbow and forearm for the past 3 months. He is not able to lift weights and is frustrated. I will say that I felt skeptical about sugar causing inflammation, until we both ate Christmas cookies for a week and developed worsening tendinitis and also knee pain. It's better now. Maybe you will feel better after a couple low sugar days.

@micaroo4 - thank you for sharing that information with me. I love how dedicated you are and your pledge to yourself.

I spun my wheels for most of 24. What helped me was having a goal to lose a specific amount of weight in a specific time period. My goal was to lose 8 and I lost 5. And I was VERY happy to see progress! Looking at my weekly weigh in is one thing, but it takes looking at the big picture, and analyzing what's going on, making adjustments to get things going in the right direction. That's my plan for 2025.

@trooworld That cup is sooooo stinking cute!! I love your 2025 motto and I can’t watch your new era unfold! :)

@lislisa123 That holiday weight will come off with some healthy eating and more water. My scale is moving back down now that I’m not eating all the things! :)

@morenin, good job committing to doing yoga each day. And I’m doing the same with my eating too. No sugar and a lot more protein. :)

@Katmary71 You have good goals for the new year! I’m glad the burn is doing so well. Interesting how the micro current machine is helping you heal. :)

@Cornanda I am sorry that your hip is still hurting. Good point about sugar and inflammation. Lord knows I've been wayyyy overindulging in all things sweet! Tell your husband I feel his pain. Hopefully, we both will be back to our weights soon. :)

Good morning! Yesterday, my sister and I gutted the kitchen and put it all back together much more efficiently. We also took out two boxes of food and other stuff we didn’t want. My niece is on a Facebook buy-nothing group and will give it away for me once she rummages to see if she wants anything. Today’s plan is to do a good workout, mop the floors, and tackle something on my list to organize. Have a great day! :)

@laurelfit57 Your pups are so cute all knackered out. I know that feeling of passing out on the couch!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Kismet is adorable and looks so soft. Does she put up with being stroked because I think I'd never stop hahah. Also I'm insanely impressed by your tea-book and the range you've had just on those two pages. Makes me want to get back into drinking tea (to be honest I'm not sure why I don't drink it much any more). Also congrats on having your house back to yourself - nothing like having your space be yours.

@FushiaKat congrats on 52 weeks of maintenance, that is amazing. I love seeing you and @micaroo4 here as maintainers!

@trooworld I love that cup and the dividers, they are a great idea. I wish I had the closet space but alas, my various 'extra' clothes are stuffed into ikea storage bags in a cupboard. All the best for your 2-week check in, hope it goes well and you can move onto puree. Liquid diet does not sound appealing for very long!

Do you set goals for the year? If so, how do you keep track of them?
I've never really been one to set new years goals, but I have been trying to think of some to be more mindful about building some healthy habits. From the long term goals (lose 50lbs, build to 10k daily steps, go back to a good sleep routine), I'll work towards smaller habits each month and track them via an app so I get reminders. For Jan I am aiming to do the following. I can't believe it's Thursday already... so far I've been on track, except for a good sleep routine.
    1. Stick with this group and check in/post 3 times a week (this is 2/3 :))
    2. Log everything in MFP (so far 4/7 :))
    3. Short walks 4 times a week (3/4 as at Thursday :))
    4. Put all tech away at 9pm daily (0/7 oh dear :()

For general life goals - I'm aiming to buy no new clothes this year, only buy coffee once a week, and limit spending on misc things likes various hobbies that end up unused in cupboards (books are okay though).

@TeresaW2024 Thanks. Yeah, I got really depressed and frustrated in December because my treadmill broke. That whole month, I was inactive and eating holiday food. 😩It wasn't a good month for me as far as weight loss goes. I'm getting a new machine this Saturday! I'm hoping to reverse the damage caused. 🤞

@micaroo4 – Sorry about your car ☹ SparkPeople…what a blast from the past!

@AprilRaineyBattle – Did you create the Bingo card goals yourself? Would love for you to share a picture of it 😊 Sounds like fun!

@FushiaKat – That is awesome that you’ve maintained for so long! You are an inspiration!

@Katmary71 – I think I had just googled a specific tea flavor and Ohio Tea Company came up high on the results. Bought a bunch of 1 oz bags to try and have been hooked ever since! I gravitate towards vanillas, maples and earl greys. The FB group I’m in worked with the company to curate monthly mystery boxes for the past year, so that’s why there are several that I haven’t tried yet. It’s a pretty awesome group – Tea Lovers Tea Club. The creator of the group works with a lot of small companies to get us exclusive discounts, logo’ed merchandise and whatnot. It’s a great group to join 😊 Not sure if it’s the same thing, but sounds like the same concept with the micro current – when my mom broke her femur, the doctor had her using a machine once or twice a day for 10 or 20 minutes (can’t remember specifics) and he said it was helping her bone heal faster.

@TeresaW2024 – Fingers, toes & eyes crossed that your sister and Hunter don’t influence us! Good luck with the kitchen de-cluttering. That’s what I started on yesterday. Please be careful with your wrist. Is there something else after the shot the doctor can do (not surgery)? Love your Word of the Year! Fantastic idea with the food you don’t want. I usually take what I don’t want to my church for the Little Free Pantry. Great way to help others while helping yourself!

@trooworld – Ok. Not at all what I was thinking. I was thinking of bookend style on shelves. Feeling a little blonde today 😊 Those dividers are fun! Love your 2025 phrase! Is your new machine a 3D printer? Again, feeling a little blonde…did you create the mug along with the cat on the front? Or just the cat? Confugled is my middle name today! Congrats on the weight loss so far!

@19shmoo69 – That’s wild! I had not heard of that musical piece before. Silence is Golden. What is the reference to Gilmore Girls?

@jellytree – Kismet LOVES for me to hold her and pet her. She’ll also tolerate my older daughter, Sydney. She’ll try nipping at everyone else. Typical behavior for a rabbit 😊 You really should get back into tea. For me, just the ritual of putting on the kettle and picking out the tea and measuring it into the strainer while I wait for the whistle is therapeutic in itself. I enjoy sipping while it’s fairly hot, so that makes me take it slower, too. It’s a great way for me to just simply s l o w d o w n for a moment. Let me know if you want any recommendations. I lean more towards black, but I drink all kinds. I also love supporting small businesses.

Nice job for all the losses I’m seeing and hugs for all of us struggling through the holidays. We can do this!!!

I’ve been getting the kitchen cleaned up and reorganized (fridge & pantry) and I’m starting to feel more confident. Now that all the baby stuff has been removed from what used to be my hydroponic spot, I can once again start growing lettuces and herbs. I’ll be soaking the seeds overnight and get those started tomorrow. Looking forward to finishing up and buying some fresh produce to prep. I miss having that ultra-large container in the fridged prepped with my salad. Now if only I had a few extra cupboards to organize my teas properly! Right now they are spread around. I’ve thought about clearing out the curio cabinet (mostly my mother’s things, but no room at her apartment) and turning that into my tea spot. It’s fairly large and has 5 shelves. I’d have to figure out a way to pleasantly stack in the bottom 2 shelves because they are tall right now. My mother’s dolls are on those. Creepy. I’ve just about talked myself into it.

    2025 is MY year!

Since joining this group I have lost a total of: 43.2lbs

The amount I lost from my highest weight ever: 86.4lbs

I've recently gained 8.4lbs back which I plan to work off and more.

My long-term goal is to get down to 225/220 pounds. Although I would still be considered obese, I feel this is a realistic goal for me and I actually looked decent at that weight, just thick/overweight, though technically still obese according to my BMI.

My short-term goal is to get down to 275/270lbs

My big accomplishment for 2024 was I was able to work up to jogging/walking intervals and I reached my first short term goal of 300lbs. It's been about 8/9 years since I was down to that number. 🫨
