Well I got some disappointing news today. A doc I talked to online regarding my iron, called today to say my glucose levels were also high and I'm considered pre-diabetes. I saw the lab results it didn't even show glucose testing, so I'm confused. Either way, this might be the kick in the butt I need. I'm recovering from plantar fasciitis and wondered if anyone had good ideas for exercises to start off with other than walking? Thanks

@Katmary71 - ask your vet about DouxoS3 Calm. It's a mousse; the active ingredient is Ophytrium 0.75%. It's safe for cats. It's not a prescription, but I order it through my vet for Earl's allergies when he gets the itchy-scratchies. Just like a mousse that humans would use, you put a big dollop in your hands and rub it down to the skin. Do it every other day for a week. Of course with cats, it's difficult to get cooperation, but if the kitties will tolerate you putting that on them, it totally solves the problem (as long as the fleas are gone). My vet used to prescribe prednisone for Earl's itchy-scratchies; this is way better!

@Katmary71 OK, one margarita and that is it! :p I’m glad you are joining me in this fast. I also keep forgetting to tell you that I got The Craving Cure book, and from my initial read, I can confidently say I’m a comfort craver with a little stressed craver thrown in too. I haven’t fine-tuned my score yet, but I will. What type of craver are you? :)

@laurelfit57 That Paisley knows what’s up, and you better get to sanitizing your home! :D When I used to go to a gym, I hated January and all those newbies taking up space. Getting your own TRX to use is a great idea. Good luck hooking it up. :)

@DrewsAnna I am so very sorry for Chipper and for you. My Maggie had the surgery for a torn ACL so I know how expensive that surgery is and how it must break your heart that you can’t afford the surgery. The good news is that perhaps Chipper will do just fine on the meds. If you are on Facebook there are groups for dogs with torn ACL that might have some additional tips and advice for you. <3

@trooworld I’m glad that your company will let you work from home for the rest of the week. Hopefully, you aren’t coming down with a cold. I’m sitting here right now watching the California fires, and it’s just horrific! My heart hurts for all those people losing their homes. :(

Good morning! I went to bed early last night and had a great night’s sleep and ready to tackle the day! Not that I have any plans to tackle. :D I will do a good workout and do some church work. I’m on day three of my sugar fast, which includes NO snacking between meals. It’s been a challenge the last couple of days as I’m working through the sugar withdrawal. It will get easier as long as I don’t give in. :)

@micaroo4 I see you posted workout suggestions to someone in the group. I just want to say thanks. I'll definitely be looking into it myself. I'm awful about strength training, I have to start getting into it.

@trooworld I have never thought of my house as being viewed as sanitary before🤣. You are very smart to be listening to your body and doing what is best through this process. In the long run it will really pay off. That's awesome that Work will let you work from home!

@TeresaW2024 well I sanitized the kitchen the kids room and got half of my Christmas decorations put away today. I think Paisley will be proud🤣. I used the TRX on my door today as a temporary measure. I found a hook in my basement that is attached to a main beam, I need to get to work on the basement and then I will use that. You are so right , the gym is always annoying in January. What is even more annoying is that half of the people on the equipment are either texting or taking selfies🤬. I am starting a no sugar week tomorrow, let the cravings/withdrawal begin. I am rooting for you to get through these three days! I always find the first two days such a challenge.

Went to the dinner theatre for brunch. It wasn't one of my favourite shows, maybe it's because I'm still so tired. I had a very hard time staying awake. I loaded up a big plate of salad and raw veggies to start out my meal, then just had some a small piece of prime rib and some rice. They have the desserts cut up into little bitty squares maybe 1.5/2" square, I had two little desserts (chocolate of course;)) and some bread pudding, then loaded up with with fresh fruit. I told my girlfriend that was the last sugar I was going to have for a week. I ate way more sugar than I am used to over Christmas and New Year's, it is time to get that out of my system.
I am starting to put my house back in order and get the Christmas decorations put away. My goal is to have that finished tomorrow, I would really start like to start working on that agility area in my basement again. Everything came to a screeching halt after Christmas. It feels good to be getting some order back in my life. I did a short TRX workout this morning before going to the brunch, I can honestly say I feel it in my abs tonight.
Hope everybody has a great day tomorrow

@micaroo4 thank you so much for all the videos. I will give them a look through.
@DrewsAnna not rude one little bit. I also have tendinitis. I got some custom orthotics but still have a lot of pain. It’s why I stopped running. A walk can be painful. I like the idea of elliptical and biking! Not a big pool
lover but will keep that in mind. Thanks so much!

@laurelfit57 LOL what an interesting comment from your granddaughter I like how she worded it. Oh my gosh the gym crowds are frustrating, the TRX will save you that frustration with being able to work out at home a bit if you can't do everything at the gym. I'm glad you're joining us with no sugar! Good luck getting all those decorations put away.

@DrewsAnna Poor Chipper huge hug, I'm in the same boat when it comes to vet bills I hope they help and surgery won't be needed.

@sleepygirl79 Look on your lab results for A1C, that is what the 3 month summary of blood sugar is called. You CAN get it turned around, I second chair cardio that's what I do and I've gotten mine under control.

@micaroo4 Thank you for the recommendation, I saved it to my cat's Amazon list. He's actually not itchy now she's thinking back when all this started he may have had a flea or two and had a reaction (like 2 months ago, I got him a cortisone spray but I like your recommendation better). Now he's over-grooming from stress but I think it's calming down. I don't like the idea of my cats needing prescription flea meds when they're inside cats so I'll have to give that some thought. Asher hated the spray cortisone I got and the spray didn't work, for a $30 bottle you should be able to spray it. I'll save your recommendation thank you. Lots of awesome-looking videos thank you for posting those too!

@trooworld Thank you! I'm so glad you got permission to work from home, you're doing the right thing take it slow. The body goes through more than we think going through surgery and with different meds. You ARE doing what's best for you I'm glad you're being assertive and standing up for yourself.

@TeresaW2024 Great I'm still in for the fast, I did just have one margarita since I had to drive home! That's awesome I'm glad you got the book! Shoot I'm forgetting as Joann Ross and Shelley Jo from Hypno Aminos explain it differently but my worst I think was the stressed fight-or-flight needing GABA and runners up comfort (I think I'm trying DLPA that makes you feel safer and loving those around you) and (now that GABA is restored) needing Tyrosine to have the drive to get stuff done. The library just took the book back too darnit! I can check her website too. Way to go on the awesome sleep and no sugar! You got this keep it up!

@DrewsAnna Good luck with walking Chipper, I hope he does well.

Hi team! Worked out and got a lot of gardening done plus grocery shopping then I met a friend for happy hour as I said yesterday. It's good seeing her she's the other one who resigned from the charity. I only had one margarita so staying on track! Visited my brother too. Tomorrow's greenhouse day so time to get ready for bed. Have a great Thursday!

@TeresaW2024 Hi! I'm the stressed craver followed by comfort and fatigued. Yvonne was saying I may be feeling so exhausted because I stopped taking GABA too early but at least with fight or flight I got stuff done! Are you going to try gaba?

@DrewsAnna I will post a pic of the book below. :)

@laurelfit57 I think after the holidays we all need a break from the sugar. Just make sure you eat enough protein to balance the sugar withdrawals. :)

@Katmary71 I’m looking forward to seeing what Aminos she recommends for me to use. Will she give me brands, or do you have some that you would recommend? I looked up Amino Acids on Amazon, and there are a lot of choices. I want stuff that will do the job. My stress will only increase as Joe progresses, so I must be ready to deal with whatever happens. Reading the book so far is just a refresher course on how horrible our food industry is and how very addicting! Time to be set free!! :)

@trooworld I am sorry that you aren’t feeling well. I hope the surgery center can help with what you should and shouldn’t do. You probably just need to be really gentle on yourself after undergoing something so jarring to your entire body. <3

Good morning! I dreamed I was eating a big plate of cookies my niece made and then woke up mad because I had failed the challenge. THEN I realized it was a dream and I was happy again! :D My sugar withdrawals have been really mild, but I think that is because I already sorta fast 14 to 16 hours and eat a lot of protein. The no snacking is harder because when I work my puzzle in the afternoon, I really just want to munch but I’m drinking coffee or tea and powering through. Today should be easier. All I keep envisioning is walking into my closet and not hoping something fits but choosing what I like because everything fits! :)

Here is the book that Katmary and I are talking about. If you never really understood just how horrible the food industry is and why it's so hard for someone with food issues to lose weight, this book might be for you. ;)

Just a quick check in. It’s been a busy week. Kids are still on school break. So I spent time going out with my youngest. Glad the scale moved in the right direction. I had some craziness at Harry Potter. Butter beer, thankfully had a few sips and done. I can say I tried it.

@trooworld The fires are scary I'm so sorry. I hope the pug foundation remains safe. It sounds to me like you went back to work a little early especially with the medical assistant being surprised.

@TeresaW2024 There's two main people whose books I've read (plus Yvonne telling me about it), the other one is Shelley Jo and she has hypno aminos, she started researching them to treat her daughter who was addicted to street drugs. All of hers I've tried are great. When Yvonne teaches the amino acid class and you try them you take a low dose then wait 30 minutes and if no change take another. Like with the stress craver where you take GABA you find out your dose when you feel the opposite of how you're trying to feel (for stress cravers you feel anxious if you take too much so you go just under that dose every 4 hours, for me it was one 1.5 pills). Where I struggle there is each bottle is about $35 and you're taking it 3xs a day (not before bed) so I've been trying different Amazon brands I can take a higher, less often dose with for the day if that makes sense. I agree your life is likely to get more stressful, I'm sorry. Yes I'm reading a Dave Asprey book right now and he's talking about lighting in grocery stores and how it exhausts our nervous system where we want to grab everything. Here's Shelley Jo's site: https://hypnoaminos.com/ With the test on her site it will give you recommendations on what to take. On Amazon I've had good luck with NOW, Futurebiotics, and Horbaach. Because I'm poor I've bought ones and cut them into smaller pieces to save money to find the dose. Now when you are at the right dose and you take it regularly when you suddenly start feeling nervous is when you start decreasing and go off it as your brain will have enough. I'll find the form Yvonne gives clients to take home it makes it easier to understand. Yikes on the nightmare!

@AmbersWay Great to see you! Did you like the butter beer? Curious what it tastes like! Have fun with the kids.

Hi team! I have a late ultrasound today so I'm making a batch of chili now to freeze for when I get home later. Started artichokes, arugula, and lettuce at the greenhouse and did an herb inventory. Not much else going on I'm reading a Susan Mallery book and planning to take it easy today. I DID get into chocolate chips last night so gotta do better! Have a great Thursday night and Friday.

The MYFitnessPal app has been hacked to steal locations of users, folks might want to switch to the website until this is fixed.

@trooworld luckily I only have one dog that sheds, and if I brush her regularly it's not too bad. But my house is far from sanitary🤣. That fire sounds very scary! Are you guys feeling any of the effects from it? Is it smoky? I hope that the medical staff get back to you quickly.

@TeresaW2024 thanks for the tip on the protein, I would not have known that. Your dream is funny lol! Fingers crossed you won't be thinking and dreaming of sweets too much longer. I like your goal of fitting into everything in your closet. I bought that book before Christmas and still haven't read it, hopefully next week.

@Katmary71 I need to make up a batch of chilli to freeze as well, that is one of my favourite frozen meals! I still can't believe that you are gardening🤣

I had an absolutely lovely day today. One class with Ty, but the rest of the time I puttered around my house. My main floor is almost fully "sanitized" I just have to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors. They will be already for Paisley tomorrow lol. I got to go watch Paisley's synchro practice, I love seeing the kids progress. Also got to catch up with my daughter, which is always nice with no kids around.
I was doing really well on my no sugar intake until about 4 o'clock. I lost track of time and needed to grab a really quick snack before heading over to Paisley's practice, it is at a weird time from 5:30 to 6:30 and I don't get home until after seven, so I'm starving. I didn't have anything cut up in the fridge, so I thought I would grab a quick bowl of cereal. I grabbed honeynut Cheerios ate it quickly and ran out the door. Then I realized that I ate cereal with sugar on it🤣. Tomorrow is a new day!
Hope everybody had a great day, can't believe it's Friday tomorrow!

@laurelfit57 - Glad your house is becoming more sanitary! Lol- that's too funny.

@TeresaW2024 - you are right that there are likely stressful times ahead so keep working on your new habits. You can do this girl!

@katmary71 @trooworld - I think the fires might be nearish to Troo, but not to Kat? Been thinking of both of you.

@trooworld- glad you called, that doesn't sound good and you need answers.

I was supposed to be in WI right now taking care of my parents. My Dad needs a hernia repair. However, he flunked his cardiac clearance and therefore the surgery was cancelled. He's having a heart cath on Tuesday. And maybe a stent. He doesn't have any heart symptoms. He's 82 and very lively. Sometimes medical procedures just mess everything up- and now we have two instead of just one. The hernia is large and has been causing problems, so that definitely needs attention- will probably be rescheduled in March.

Thanks for "listening" to my worry.

@Katmary71 thanks for giving me so much information and the link. I did some Googling on side effects and didnt’ realize how you really can’t go taking these aminos without understanding what they do. I will continue with the book. I do prefer to get my aminos from food and not spend a ton on supplements. Interesting about grocery store lighting and another good reason to have them delivered! Now go and hide those chocolate chips! :)

@laurelfit57 I can’t wait to hear if your house passes Paisley’s inspection. :D I hope you get a chance to read the book. The first part is really educational about our food and how the obesity rate skyrocketed after 1970. It might even make you give up all cereal. ;)

@Cornanda, I am sorry about your dad! Will you be flying up there for his procedure? Our aging loved ones are definitely a cause of ongoing stress. Please let us hear your worries anytime. Lord knows I force y’all to listen to mine! :)

@trooworld I am sorry you had the gain this week. You might be retaining water. Those losses will come as your body adjusts to your new life, so be ready for them! :) I wish you could go ask your boss to let you work from home. Make those hints bigger, girl! ;)

Good morning! I’m sitting here waiting to see some snow!! We are supposed to get snow and freezing rain most of the day and tomorrow morning. None of us have to leave, so we hope the snow sticks a little and gives us a pretty view. :) Today is day 5 of the no-sugar challenge, and I’m feeling so good. Yesterday, I had no cravings, and the scale was down again this morning. I am really working on the big picture. I have 75+ lbs to lose, and it will take time. The only way to get it done is to focus on it one day at a time. So today, I eat no sugar, have no snacks, keep my portion sizes normal, and move my body as much as possible. There are two phrases I am currently fixated on:
Stand Firm: This is from a Bible verse where God says to stand firm and He will help you. I just love the visual this gives me!
Don’t pick it up: This is something I heard from a recovering drug addict. Don’t pick it up, and you can’t use it. It works for sugar, too! ;)

@Cornanda - 🙏Prayers for your dad (and for you). Are you freaking out over it?

@TeresaW2024 - About 20 years ago, I read "Overeating begins with the purchase." Kind of like your phrase Don't pick it up. It really resonates with me and it's been the internal Caution sign in my brain when I'm grocery shopping, dining out, or thinking of stopping for drive-thru.
