oooo, pretty new towels! Good thinking on delay wash. Yay Scott for helping!

Eric helped me make chili tonight. He finishes work early on Saturdays, so that's nice. He just left to go let Katie's fur pile (canine section, lol) out. Katie texted last minute and asked for help with her animals, she was going to an overnight bday party. I am soooooo tired. Only slept 4h 43m last night, but I had a late dinner, and don't like to go to sleep too soon after eating. Considering heading outside for a snow clearing sesh. We got more coming tonight, and the last one ain't all cleared yet 🙃

Been busy-ish this morning. Decided I'm good with not walking today at all, I only need 2845 steps to hit my weekly goal, and I know I'll get more than that just by cleaning/cooking/going to friends.

Towels are folded, on my dining room table. One of my focuses this week is to clean out and declutter my bathroom closet so I can fit the towels in there. It's time to do this!

I cubed up chicken and beef today, can be used several ways this week for meals.
Other things I need to make this week:
Garlic Parm chicken wings I was going to make this week but didn't get the wings in time- this is a new/unique recipe that calls for cooking them in the crockpot before air-frying them
    Boneless pork ribs
Split up the big pork shoulder we got to make 4 portions. We can cook or smoke them later. I don't like having a huge one, we can't get through it all.
Scott's got some steaks for us to have before we go to the party, then the rest will go in the freezer.
I cooked up a bunch of bacon yesterday.

Since we are leaving for the weekend Friday night, I want to get a few things done around here this week.
    1. finish cleaning kitchen/dining
    2. sweep/mop kitchen/dining/hallways
    3. clean hallways
    4. get rid of rug under table (It's too thick)
    5. keep bathrooms clean
    6. sweep/mop bathrooms
    7. Pack for the weekend- figure out what food I'll be taking. I am sure we'll be eating dinner with my parents every night, so.... Not sure what I need to take yet
    8. I would LOVE to have my bedroom clean, but I think this list will have to do for now.

On a side note, I am now convinced it was my cat causing my sleep disturbances. I've changed a little how I sleep (sitting up for a couple hours, facing away from her if she does climb up on my pillow, more aware and tap her nose if she tries to lick me or rub my face). My sleep score the last 3 nights was 83!!! getting better!

Ok, off to shower and start getting ready! Hope you are able to get some rest today! Shoveling sounds like a full time job right now! YIKES!

Ohhh, good insight, on the cat and sleep, J!

My week is def going to be the bathroom. And I have to get UTD on my Excel class. PT for my knee starts on Wed. And yea, on shoveling. We have another foot and a half coming by next Sunday, in four batches. :/ (It's February in Maine!)

I have 5 recipes from Classroom 2A that I picked out, and want to make. I made 4 this week, hoping to make the other 5 next week. Plus John Legend's Mac & Cheese :D.

And ... the stupid laptop. Have to get it returned, and shop for another. And Eric and I have a movie date for tmrw night (hopefully!). I have it on my Bingo Card, yanno. Gotta cross it off 😁.

I have 3 at-home PT exercises, 2 weights machines workouts, and 2 flex workouts to cross off as well.

Eric did the porch, and the path to the compost bin just a bit ago. I haven't shoveled at all yet today. Maybe tonight, but maybe not til tmw, we'll see. Depends on when the plow guy comes, maybe.

Plus I 'adopted a stop', on our city's bus stop routes. I have to get that shoveled out, too. I've 'adopted 'my' stop' for over 10 yrs now. Maybe over 15? Not sure ...

Shoveling is SUCH a great workout. I mostly love shoveling snow. But not so much in such quick succession. And shoveling the 'plow dunes' at that edge of the driveway and bus stop are never fun. The plow dunes are such heavy, packed snow. 😰

So, we went to friends for the Super Bowl last night-9 people other than me and Scott- and started talking to them that I really don't expect the job I'm doing right now to be around by June 30, that I really need to get my certs under my belt and start looking in earnest for a new job. To that end, this week at work I'm going to finish the last 9.5 hours of LinkedIn Learning about the job I want to get into, and sign up for the 2 weekend classes I need for my certs. I've got to get this done! Scott makes decent money, but I make more by far, so I don't want to be unemployed right now with all that's going on.

Hannah and Jonah finished their first room of the condo, I really love the flooring they picked out! They are keeping it simple by painting the walls white, which is JUST fine with me!

While I'm working through my LinkedIn Learning (it's videos), I will be working on my office today, bathroom/bedroom tomorrow.

Adopting a stop sounds wonderful! Do you only keep the snow cleared, or do you upkeep it the rest of the year too? Enjoy your movie date! It's on the Bingo card, it MUST be done! You just gave me an idea for the next bingo card! hahahahaha Good luck with your Excel class and PT, I really hope PT helps with your knee!

Work starting in 6 minutes, so....POOF!

Loving all of that message, J! Rock on, FLYsistah!

Happy Monday. I've got snowclearing to do :p. Hubby's already done a couple patches. I said I'd start at noon, so, in about 20 mins.

Having my protein tea. I got a late start today. Late exercise has been messing with my circadian rhythm, which is all too easy to 'break'. Gotta crack down on that, before it spirals out of control again. Fasting week is in 2 weeks. That seems to help me reset again - I don't sleep during it, but I get up so early. And that flows into the following week, early wakeups help foster earlier sleeps.

    Poof to my protein tea!

Edit: Oh, PS, the 'adopt a stop' is supposed to be year-round deal, but in practice, it's just the snow clearing, for the most part.

Showered, and cozy clothed! Sipping my 2nd protein tea of the day. I got a good snow clearing workout in. I downed 18z of water when I came in, and a plate of fruit (banana, orange, kiwi). Then I hit the shower. Eric is making us onion - red pepper - shaved steak - provolone cheese flatbread rollups. He picked out a movie for tonight, Companion. I haven't read what it's about yet.

We missed the matinee (too bad, I do love a deal, lol) b/c of snow clearing, and doc appts for hubby. (Lab - Vit D check, and eyes - he's T1 Diabetic, so it's important to get them checked every year. All good, no diabetic retinopothy!)

I'm over 20k steps for today. Good thing it's a Quidditch week~! lol We have more snow coming Wed into Thu, and Sat into Sun. Still have more to clear up tmw, but most of it is done. Hubby did 2 snow clearing sesh's this am.

    Fruit plate! ~
    zttjoc5aqqc9.jpg

I already ate the banana ... heh

Shaved steak, onion, red pepper, provolone cheese flatbread! ~

This is from last week, but the same thing is cooking right now ...

Snow clearing workout, and steps so far today (it's only 4p, lol)! ~

Wow! You had a busy day! I got my second walk done after work, my unofficial goal this week is 12,000 steps/day, thinking about making it my unbreakable vow (84,000 steps per week)?

I did 30 minutes cleaning in my office while listening to my training. It doesn't look much different to Scott, but I can see a difference. I'm also pondering a room re-do, but will work up to it. I have a long way to go and a lot to declutter/throw out.

I ordered new dining room chairs for us today from Amazon. The ones we have right now are just too big and too heavy for the space, so I think these will do better (I hope they do!).
    https://amazon.com/dp/B0DSJGWH5F?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Scott's getting the island cleaned off so I can package up some meat tonight. I still need to figure out what's for dinner. I have a lot of calories to play with, and I'm hungry, so will see what happens. :)

    My lunch today…

Oh, look at those, are those the chicken cheese waffles that you make? They're so cute! What are the balls? They look like peanut butter protein balls I see so often, but I know they can't be, b/c you're carnivore.

The chairs look SO comfortable. I hope they are as comfy as they look. Def lmk, after they arrive :)

We had the whole theater to ourselves :D. I wore my sherpa slippers, my pajamagram cozy clothes, my long green slytherin-ish sweatshirt/robe/coat ... and I brought my blanket! ha!

The theater are the new kind, with tons of space, recliner seats, way fewer rows. I think there's one row for every three of the kind of theaters that I grew up with. Super comfortable. Up to 24,502 steps now :p. Lots of steps with snow clearing. I can't lift heavy loads, so I make many passes, with lighter loads.

I haven't changed my steps goal since I set it, in July '21. I think I'm sticking with 10k forever. I'm happy when I exceed it, but I think it's a good goal. Some of my stepping crew used to use 12k/day, tho. It's another common goal, not sure why, but it is :).

I dripped on my cozy clothes sherpa cowl neck when I was eating my shaved steak-veggie-cheese flatbread rollup. Didn't realize it until I was washing my hands in front of the mirror, at the theater 😐 .... so, I 'Shouted' it, and am running a wash now. Otherwise, I'm pretty chill, still feeling worn out (but in a good way) from the afternoon. I really enjoy the zen and quiet of moving snow. heh

ooooooh Sounds like you had a great night! How wonderful you guys could take time to relax and have fun! Nice job on the steps! Will you keep up that pace after no more snow? ;) I have a goal of not getting worn out when we go on our cruise in December, so I'm trying to work up to 20,000/day. I plan on being very active and MUCH lighter than now! :)

Had to change into my new aligners today. OOF I think the first 2 weeks was just nicety. Putting the bottom one in today (the bottom is where most of the work is) not only was difficult, but it HURT, which it really didn't the last 2 weeks. Videos all say "after 2 weeks, it's cool, doesn't hurt at all" We'll see... ugh Pre-loading with allergy medicine today so hopefully I won't have the reaction I did with the first 2 aligners. I also put them through the sonic/UV cleaner for 10 minutes before putting them in

Today it's been raining for quite a while and ponding very much in our yard. May need to go out at lunch and clear leaves from the fencerow to see if it helps water flow better. Not looking forward to that because I don't have rainboots.

Plan for today is clean/declutter the bathroom closet while listening to training. I realized yesterday (DUH!) that I can unplug my laptop and take it with me from room to room. LOL HOW long have I been working from home? LOL My new towels are still on the dining room table, so I NEED to get this done today!

BTW, those are the sour cream waffles- 4 eggs, 1 cup pork panko, 1/2 cup sour cream. They are SO nice! Soft, not greasy at all. They don't fall apart. They work great for cheeseburgers too! I'll let you know about the chairs! I'm excited!

I will say, I got a grounding mat for the bed a couple weeks ago, and I have enough data behind me to say my sleep is definitely improving! I think a combination of that and not letting the cat bug me at night are doing a world of good!

Def NOT keeping up that pace. My knee gets so swollen when I pile on the steps like that 😬. Walking is good, it helps make the knee less painful. But too many steps is too much. Contants swolls are not ideal 🤷‍♀️. I feel good when I'm that active, tho - knee/s aside. I bet you will too :).

I just went down a rabbit hole reading about grounding mats. I remember you mentioned when you bought the one for the bed, I didn't know what it was, but I didn't google. I think you said you'd been using a grounding mat other than for the bed for awhile now? Is that right? Super interesting reads on it. Here's one, I read Google's search AI summary, too, and a Reddit thread.

Cool on the waffles ~! And, that's awesome, on the lightbulb moment with unplugging the laptop .💡.

Do you have boots of any kind? It may sound goofy, but just put your feet into bags when you go out. Kids used to wrap their shoes in bread bags, when they didn't have boots. I remember some politician talking about that awhile back, I hadn't heard of it before. It sounded so 'pulled from a Dickens novel' that I went down a rabbit hole googling. Yup, it's a thing! LOL clearly the story impacted me, but I can't remember who it was that said they used to wear bread bags on their feet in the winter. It was a woman, tho. Maybe from one of the upper midwest states/norther rockies states?

Yeah, I got one for under my desk, which seemed to maybe do something for pain? I think the benefits are passive right now and will take a while to build up, but I'm starting to see some sleep improvements.

LOL Up in IL it was a REQUIREMENT to put our feet in bread bags before we put them in our boots! I even made my kids use grocery bags in the wintertime since we didn't have boots for them! LOL

I'm assuming you have a knee brace that you use? Hopefully PT will help you have less pain!

I still need to work on the bathroom, but lunch is done, and the fact I haven't yet means that my morning at work has been "busy" with things to do, so that's always a good thing! I'd rather wait until after work because I'm busy doing my job instead of having so much time to clean the house/etc during work hours . Ya know?

OH! LOL Scott came to me a couple hours ago... "so I did a thing"..... He found out about weighted vests (how, I have no idea!) and was talking about them yesterday. I told him that he has to be actively walking before using one, and he's not (but I've secretly wanted one for a while now). So, seems yesterday he got 2 vests (40 pounds for $30 each) and today they were off special and back up to $75 each, so he was excited to tell me.... smh..... Guess I'm adding a weighted vest to my walks come March (they aren't due to come in until the end of Fed)
  • mkksemail
    mkksemail Posts: 2,512 Member
Neat ! (weighted vests) And I love that Scott is such a partner with you on your health journey! A bit envious, b/c Eric's just not into it 🤷‍♀️ He comes for walks with me sometimes, but never initiates, and is wholly uninterested in the gym 😂

Yay for busy at work! I'm having brunch now (only had tea for bfast). Actually, I had brunch, but I'm still HUNGRY ... heh. I'm having another protein tea, and some biscotti. My knee woke me up today. It must have gotten so swollen, I couldn't turn over without it letting me know that would be a problem :p. You know, I do have a half dozen or more pairs of knee braces, that I used to use when Eric still had the store, but I don't use now. I should use them.

Planning on hitting the gym this afternoon for a bike ride, I need to loosen up my knee. I do want to do some more shoveling/clearing today, too, and some sanding. 'My' busstop is pretty clear, but the side walk is not. The city has a sand pile, I used to go and fill the pails, but I haven't since I injured my first knee in 2019. Eric is working, and it is on the way home from Planet Fitness - sorta/kinda - maybe I'll try to pick some up. We'll see. We have more snow coming Wed into Thu, so I want to get that sidewalk sanded today if I can. We picked up some sand on the way to the movies last night, and emptied 2 barrels, but still need another one, at least.

Ha! LOL on the bread bags! That's awesome. See - you already know about it! Put some bags on your feet if you go to clear those leaves from the fencerow :).

LOL Don't get me wrong, he is sooooo unmotivated to exercise, but I can usually pull him along. I made a deal with him that if we aren't much healthier by September when we need to make final payment on our cruise, that we will cancel it. Today after he told me about the weighted vests I reminded him of our goal, and he agreed, so we got on the treadmill for 45 minutes tonight. He's also going to have me sign us up for a "Shamrock Run" in March that we will walk a 5k. Hoping to get some friends in on it too. Will see.

Dinner is almost ready. I've been hungry all day, so I'm trying to let myself eat what I need to fill up. I had planned on having bacon for lunch and FORGOT!!! So, I'll have it with dinner- 20 more minutes in the IP.

LOL Well, I never hit Post! Dinner is done, got more than enough to eat. Did a 30 minute before bed stretching routine. It was as if my body actually craved it! It felt better than last night, so I guess that's progress.

Teeth don't hurt nearly what they did the last 2 weeks, will see what tomorrow brings! :) Now I'm primed and ready for bed! See ya in the morning!

Good Morning! Feeling terrible this morning. I can remember dreaming my stomach was hurting. Got up at 3... ugh... this morning been in the bathroom a lot since 5. Was going to get up and walk, but there's no way.... Scott and I ate the same things, so it's just my stupid body! LOL Well, will make fasting easier!

LOL Why do I keep forgetting to hit POST?

Well, I finally bit the bullet and signed up for my certification training/testing. I NEED this, so working at warp speed to get it done. Feb 22/23 8a-4p ct for the training. Excited/nervous. I don't like test taking because I'm a really fast test taker and I want to do perfect since it's for my job. Luckily the price tag comes with 3 attempts for the test, so, that will help a little

Stomach is starting to settle down. Did 5 minutes of breathing and that really helped! :) My BP after was 126/76! yay!

Well, at least you type before you forget to hit post! I read last night, but didn't type. And I almost left without typing again.

Inspired by your 5k plans, and 30 min stretching. Yay! for Invisalign and no allergic reactions! (((Hugs on tummy))) Right? on the breathing, it really does work! And wooooohooooooo you, for seeing down nervousness and signing up for class! Congrats!

Am having my morning protein tea. I slept 8h 32m last night - sleep score 90! Soooo not my usual. I did not go to the gym yesterday, listened to Fitbit and took a rest day. I did hit my 10k, tho (10,946), and I did go pick up sand with Eric after his shift, and we finished sanding the sidewalk. He finished the last snow clearing, I needed that rest day. 12:30 PT appt. thought I'd go to the gym first, but I got a later start today, so I'll probably go to the gym after.

    • 2 miles indoor cycling, at PF
    • 37 min arms & core weights machines (solo), at PF
    • 44 mins legs weights machines and band exercises with trainer, at PF
    • 3 miles indoor cycling, at Planet Fitness
    • 40 mins lower body exercises/PT evaluation, at PT center

Hoping to sneak in some wall sits and yoga, for Classroom/Hogwarts, tonight, and a 15-min 'fake walking' workout while I was a SEAL Team ep later tonight (for Room of Requirement/Hogwarts) 🧙‍♀️🧹. Snow ❄ coming tonight - snow clearing workout on deck for tmo! I lol'd at my Fitbit - sanding the sidewalks and bus stop last night and the night before both registered as Mountain Biking, on my Fitbit app 🚵‍♀️.😂:

NICE!!! You have been hitting it out of the park with all your activity! I'm so excited for you! Sanding sidewalks is equal to mountain biking- good to know!!! :) I need to do more wall sits too. Those are soooo hard! Nice job on your sleep score! My best was 97 and that was at my parents house sleeping in a recliner so..... Who knows! :)

I crashed and burned today! I got up at 5, but couldn't get my walk on. Lunch was weird, work was busy most of the day (a GOOD thing, as it was all about the job I WANT to get into!), and after work my allergies over took me and I had a good almost hour nap! Heading to bed in a few minutes. Sometimes we just need a good rest day, even IF it's the middle of the week!

What I got done on the house today: took the carpet out from under the dining room table, can scoot chairs up properly now. Of course, they will be changed out Monday, though! :) Did some vacuuming, but it's not sucking up well. Will do more investigation tomorrow on the vacuum :( We have one more full day to work on things before we head to mom and dad's after work for the weekend.

Heading to bed now, glad we've got a new friend in here! Hope she jumps in tomorrow and we can all work together on FLYing!

All showered and cozy clothed. I'm zonked . Hope it will be an 'askeep before midnight' day!

Snow coming tonight. Sounds like this one won't be just snow, as was forecast a few days ago. Turning into a snow/sleet/rain mess. Ugh

LOL yeah! I was gobsmacked! LOL I'm happy with the 83 I got last night. Hips hurt all night (maybe all the stretching I've been doing?) Will hit the treadmill at lunch at least. Might try some stretching between meetings today, if possible

I was supposed to do 30 min on the bathroom closet (didn't happen) Tuesday and 30 min in the kitchen yesterday (didn't happen), so today I am FORCING myself to do 30 minutes in the family room (we haven't even used in a couple months because it still has stuff in there from the kitchen remodel!)

    So, Plan for today-
    Dark
    Pack for the weekend
    Bathroom closet
    Kitchen
    Family room
    Walk 30 min at lunch
    How is it Thursday already????

    Good morning, girls!

Up early today. Hubby's Dexcom CGM (T1 diabetic) was beeping this morning for low bg, starting around 5-ish; I finally got up for good at 6:14. I fell asleep quite early last night, so I almost hit my sleep goal of 7.5 hrs :) (got 7h 15m). It's a snow-sleet-freezing rain day here today. I have a quiet morning planned, computer work to do, and a maybe a gym visit this afternoon. I did weight machines for upper/core, and lower, yesterday, so no weight machines today, but I get a bike ride in, we'll see. I left the lower body fitness plan (that the trainer worked up for me yesterday) there, so I'd like to go pick it up. He only works Mon-Thu, so he won't be there on Friday. Depends on the weather, tho, and how safe the roads are. 2nd of 3 storms for this week is underway ❄. (Next one is Sat into Sun).

LOL Jenny, right? How IS it Thursday already !

Penciling in at least a 15 min sesh on bathroom shelves for this afternoon. At this point, what I really need to do is just start. Obvs I'm avoiding starting. Time to bite the bullet! (The idea of climbing on stepladders w/ my bad knee has me gunshy, I think. But it'll be fine ... )

    *poof!*

How are your shelves coming @mkksemail ? I finally did my closet shelves (well 3 of them!) I’m very pleased with my progress! At least I got the new towels put away! Now to take the old ones to the camper!

I realized today is my last opportunity to get my nails done this week, and I reeeealllly need to, so will do that in about 45 minutes! It’s cold, but toes have to be done too!

Here’s my closet! Hope it inspires you!!!2zjn7z1evfzr.jpeg

    @mkksemail How'd you do?

I can tell I'm getting healthier because I'm struggling to get my heart rate up when I'm walking! I had to get up to 3.4 mph on the treadmill to get past zone 1 heart rate! LOL and the first 10 minutes I even wore the weighted vest (20 pounds) for the first 10 minutes!!!

Heading to bed! Trying to get another good sleep score! :)

Congratulations!! Here's to cardio improvement! ❣

I finished up my 5 min wall sits, did 30 min knee PT / leg strengthening exercises, and 15 mins 'sneak' walk in while watching a SEAL team. All my muscles are pretty sore from yesterday :p. Well, not all of them. but my upper abbs, and inner-upper thighs are 'saying hi' all day ;-). Also hoping for a good night's sleep. Need to meet my sleep goal for 1 more night this week for a Bingo card.

I phoned Planet Fitness trainer to say I wasn't coming today. Roads weren't great, and I didn't feel like it. I left my lower body exercise plan that he worked up there, yesterday. I was going to try to get it today, b/c he's not there Fr-Sa-Su, but - nuh uh. Snow/ice/sleet/crud day for me :D.

Sweet dreams! Great job today, Jenny!

Good morning! Sorry you couldn’t get to the gym yesterday! Hopefully your sheets are there once you can get out again! WTG on getting all that exercise done! I bet your muscles Are saying high! lol

I had my best sleep all week! Scored an 87! It said my heart rate dropped at 5, but the graph looks like 2 to me. Oh well! Maybe the grounding mat on the bed IS helping! I didn’t have ANY wake ups last night! First time in a loooong time! Ps. How do you do that spoiler tag thing?

    Good morning, J!

My focus today is the same: computer work, knee PT, balance yoga, gym, and start (?) bathroom shelves
