Hi 👋
@AnAbsoluteDiva that is one of my most favorite songs of all time. Lol... it's also my alarm clock wake up song.
I had a post all ready to go earlier, I dropped my phone and that was that. My post was gone.
Yesterday, wound up being a pretty lazy day. I got a call from my grandson school, he had a bad toothache, so I him and his sister up. The both fell asleep, so lol… I joined the crowd.
Today, I just finished my workout and I've tracked everything I've eaten this far.
I'm baseball grandma today, so it's time for me to get in the shower.
Y'all have a great day 😀 😊

WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW: @bethanie0825 @jellytree @AprilRaineyBattle
Reminder To Weigh In Saturday to @gemwolf110 @digger610 -
@trooworld Thanks! Wow thank goodness they got you in fast, that’s scary to hear about your stomach pouch and possible ulcer. I hope you don’t have gallstones too yikes! That’s a lot of prescriptions but sounds like some are temporary, I’m so glad they’re helping already. Congratulations on the big drop and no longer being in the severe obesity category those are awesome accomplishments!
@DrewsAnna I hate losing posts that stinks! Have a great time at the games!
Hi team! My weigh in was 161.2 so I’ve managed to get back to where I was at the end of January. My roommate and I have been doing well eating healthy meals, she went with me to the farm this morning and we brought home arugula to add to our lunch salads. We got pok choy and tomatoes in then made arugula bunches. Don’t think I said anything about it last night but the functional medicine practitioner had her daughter and SIL in town and they put on a talk at the ministry after their Bible study about their ministry in Amsterdam where they help get women out of sex trafficking. Their work is so impressive people usually drop out after 6 months and they’ve been there for a few years. It really had all of us thinking of how important it is to make an effort with people we know are struggling. Tomorrow I'm going to the greenhouse, taking the kitties for nail trims, then going to my folks to see my aunt and uncle who are visiting. Sunday I'm going with a few women from the ministry to an herbalist talk, one of the women and I are talking of having an herbal study group which would be amazing. Have a good Saturday!

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What hasn't changed about you over the years?
1 -
@trooworld I’m glad the surgeon seems to know what might be wrong and, hopefully, will be able to pinpoint the exact issue. Five prescriptions is a lot, but at least it makes you drink your water. 🙂 Congrats on losing 4 lbs and dropping into a new BMI category. Onderland will be here before you know it! 😎
@Katmary71 Congrats on getting your weight back down. It’s so important to have people willing to help others. Sex trafficking is a pervasive evil that so many don’t even want to think about, yet it happens every day to women and children. Did you ever see Sound of Freedom? That was an incredible movie on the horror of child trafficking. 😭An herbal study group sounds fantastic!
Good morning! I finally got my hair cut yesterday, and it feels and looks so much better. I usually wear it in a collarbone length Bob, but this time, I went with a shorter shag so that much of the old hair dye was cut off. No more dye for this girl ever again! 😃 I’m feeling frustrated by my lack of weight loss, and I know it’s because my calories are still too high. I will work on next week’s menu and see what I can come up with. It’s hard figuring out dinners now that Joe can’t hold utensils very well. But I can’t use that as an excuse and must get my act together. Summer is coming!! 🙂
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What hasn't changed about you over the years?My constant desire to not be fat! 🤣 Another thing has to be my faith, which sustains me in every way and gives me inner joy even in the darkest moments.

@sleepygirl79 Indeed! I am starting to feel much better, thanks.
@Katmary71 Yes, it was scary! I hope not either, that would mean another operation. :( I'm actually on 11 things right now between vitamins and medications, 5 of those temporary. Thank you so much!!! Congrats to YOU for getting back to your Jan weight. Way to go! Or should I say, "Weigh to go!" LOL That's a good lesson at the ministry. I hope you have a good day today.
@TeresaW2024 I am glad, too. I was in so much pain! As I told Kat above, I'm actually on 11 meds/vitamins so it's a lot but 5 of those are temporary. Water intake, lol yes! Thank you! I'm glad you like your haircut. I bet your hair is cute. I am getting a lot of grays in the back of my head (according to DH). Good luck with menu planning.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What hasn't changed about you over the years?
My political views. I won't say what they are as this isn't the place for politics but that is the one thing that hasn't changed. I have felt the same way since I was a teenager.Hi all. I am starting to feel much better: I don't have pain when I eat or drink anymore...well, not much. I am going to get my hair cut this morning and then later, meet some old coworkers for coffee. I hope to do some artwork at some point.
Tracked yesterday? Yes

@DrewsAnna It IS a great song!
@TeresaW2024 Try zigzagging your calories. It's what I do. I'm at 1200 calories a day but one day I'll hit 1400 and the next day I'm at 1000 - you get the point. Over a 14-day period, you'll have seven days over your goal and seven days under your goal. It allows you to enjoy your life without stressing over calories while still staying focused on the ultimate goal. You know how I love my spreadsheets so I just plug my numbers in, get the weekly average, and aim for a weekly deficit of at least 3,500 calories. It may sound confusing but if you just zigzag your way through this, you'll do better. I firmly believe that.
@Katmary71 Can I come to your greenhouse? What's growing there? I love this time of year, don't you? By the time July comes around, everything better be on autopilot because heat and humidity are not my friends.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What hasn't changed about you over the years?
My love of books. I read 50 to 60 books a year but during CoViD, I broke my own record and read almost 200 books in those first two years. I wish I could get into Audiobooks but it's not the same as turning the page, referring back, writing notes in the margin. Used book shops are my favorite retail stop.3 -

@trooworld - i'm glad it's not a bowel obstruction and I'm glad your pain is decreasing. Woot woot on the weight loss this week! I guess that's the silver lining of stomach pain?!
@Katmary71 - Great work getting back to your Jan weight. Now to keep going….. you can do it!
@TeresaW2024 - bet your hair looks super cute! I'm thinking about changing mine a bit, but not ready yet. I googled adaptive silverware and there are all kinds of choices- Not sure what Joe's issue is exactly, but you could take a look.
Goodness, it's quiet in here lately.
What has not changed about me? I am also a reader and always have been one.
Work went OK this week- post management change. The new Director is much more engaged than the old one was. My manager told me the old one never read our audit reports. Wow. This one reads every detail and asks a lot of questions. He really has her hopping as she did not have to worry about every detail of everything when her previous boss wasn't even looking at it. Not a bad thing- it will take some adjusting, but I feel this gives us the opportunity to do better work and make more of an impact going forward. On Friday we have an in person meeting with the whole department- all day. It's part fun/part work and a potluck. It will be nice to meet others in the department.
Have a great week!
Lisa

@trooworld I’m so glad you aren’t in as much pain, and hopefully, it will be all gone soon. Sounds like you have a great day planned, so enjoy. 🙂
@AnAbsoluteDiva That's great advice for zigzag the calories! I did that yesterday when I fasted longer and ate less. And since I’m back to lifting, I know some of the stall has to do with water retention, but I can already feel my body changing, which is exciting. I never did get into audiobooks, and like you, I would rather have the actual book in my hand. 🙂
@Cornanda Go ahead and take the haircut leap! It will grow back…eventually! 😂I bought Joe a set of adaptive cutlery and a plate and bowl with a lip around it. He is eating his cereal much better with the new bowl and spoon. The fork doesn’t work well for him, so I still need to make fairly easy foods to pick up. It’s a constant challenge. 😕 I’m glad that work went well with the new change. It would be an adjustment to suddenly have someone paying attention to the actual work being done. Is your manager OK with it or feeling stressed?
Good morning! Today, we have church, and then we are going to my niece’s for the baby’s 1st birthday party. His birthday was actually at the end of December, but that was when all the crap hit the fan, and we were trying to figure out her life and living situation. She and my sister have been working very hard to make the new house a home, and we are excited to see the progress. That is about it for me. Have a great day!1 -
@Digger61 Congrats on the loss!
@AnAbsoluteDiva I also love books and reading! Wow, that's a lot of reading! We have a lot of good bookstores (new and used indie bookstores) in San Diego, you'd love it.
@laurelfit57 Congrats on the loss! I'm hoping you'll pop in with an update on how you are doing. I hope you and the pups and your family are well.
@Cornanda Thanks, me too! Yes, I believe the good loss is due to eating a lot less lol. It has been quiet lately. Is the new director a micromanager or just more involved? The potluck sounds fun. We are having a "World Heritage Pot-Luck" in April that I'm debating whether or not I want to take part of. I did last year, I brought Hungarian goulash, and it was fun. I probably will.
@TeresaW2024 Me too and I think the pain is all gone now. The surgeon must have been right about the cause. I did have a great day! I'm glad you found adaptive cutlery for Joe, that sounds like something that would really help him function better. I hope you have fun at the party today. I love the quote you posted! Thanks for that.
Hi all. I got my haircut which I am happy with. Meeting up with my old coworkers was fun, it was nice to see them and hear what they've been up to. Later in the day/evening, my husband and I went to a coffee shop and I painted and drank coffee while he read. I painted a warthog. Then we walked around our favorite neighborhood and people-watched. It was fun.
Tracked yesterday? No!

Hi 👋
Friday was a pretty good day. I did a workout and made to the ball field with Chip. My grand babe had practice. Lol… as luck would have it, it started raining as soon as we left for practice and quit raining just as practice was over. Chipper and I walked all over the place anyway. Lol… it was a little fun.
Yesterday, was another lazy day, but I was tired and I'm thinking my body is trying to retaliate against for being out in the rain for two days last week.
I finished the afghan, it came out nice. I still need to weave in the ends, and maybe, put a border around it. I'm not sure if I want to do that just though. Lol… I had a volunteer model... 😅😅
Lol.. it's a green maple leaf 😉🍁
My next project is for my MIL…
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What hasn't changed about you over the years?
Loud music and dancing!I have always loved to turn the music up loud and just dance!! I still do when I get the chance,that isn't very often unfortunately 😕

@DrewsAnna I'd skip the border. I think it's beautiful as it is…. simple design, great color contrast. Let the stitchery be the focus. And I love that it's a maple leaf! Elbows up!

I drink coffee.3 -
I can't get on the website on my laptop because of a Gate error and it's taking about 6xs typing names for the menu to appear and I was almost done and lost it so I'm not doing it again.

@19shmoo69 - I can barely see you!

@19shmoo69 - Great picture! Made me smile while drinking my coffee. 😀
@TeresaW2024 - Oh good, I'm glad you got him something. :( about the fork. My Mom can still use silverware, but she doesn't always know what's what and will try to eat soup with a fork. Such a weird disease. Yes, my manager is stressed- it was much easier for her when she didn't have to understand every detail of what we are doing. Hope the party was nice and seeing your niece in a more homey place was nice as well.
@trooworld- Sounds like a nice day with friends! The new management are not micromanagers, they just care more about fixing things. And they are very kind.
@DrewsAnna - beautiful work!
DS came over yesterday for dinner and it was nice to get caught up with him!
Have a great Monday if such a thing is possible!

@trooworld It sounds like you had a very good day. I so miss the days when Joe and I would go downtown and people-watch while drinking coffee outside Walkers Coffee Shop & Pub. College towns are great places to see the unusual. 🙂
@DrewsAnna, I love the afghan, but I’m unsure if I believe it’s a green maple leaf. 😂
@19shmoo69 What a great picture of you and your kids! 🙂
@Cornanda It is a weird and terrible disease, and it is heartbreaking to watch them forget how to do simple things. Yeah, I feel for your manager. My new pastor went through a phase where he had to know all the details on the income/expense statement, which made me take notes to remember why I put money on a particular budget line. Work-life is much easier when the boss doesn’t care! 😂
Good morning! Well, the party didn’t go as well as we had hoped. Little Eli had a cold and was miserable. His sister, Hanna, helped open his presents, and then we tried to get him to like his cake, but as you can see from the pic, that wasn’t happening either. The cake was put away, and he went to bed. I ate more cake than I had planned because Joe pushed his over to me, and instead of saying no, I ate it, too. Now, I get to worry about tomorrow’s weigh-in. Ugh, cake is…👺3
