Here is an example of single line posting:

    First line
    Second line
    3rd line
    And so on…!

Does anyone know how to do single line carriage returns from their phone? I think you can do it by copying/pasting from another document (someone told me that, I think). I might try it tonight. I'm wondering whether there's another way…

I ended up doing 12,002 steps by the time I went to bed yesterday!

Sober Spring going well with 7 days AF under my belt. I am aiming not to drink alcohol on my birthday coming up on Monday. That will be some kind of record I think.

    Hi everyone,

    Here again and checking in.

@SunnyDays930, one slip up after 28 days is no small feat. I think of this as an ongoing journey toward wellness.

The occasional lapse will NOT defeat us! Unlike "AA", that constantly makes us start over (and over again) at "Day One", I truly believe that the consective number of days is less important than the total number of days and, more importantly, the continual effort, so long as we don't turn a relapse into a "collapse" and go back to drinking almost every day and/or to excess!

    AF since March 19th, 2025

Don't give in, never give upand enjoy your day, (You are not alone!)

Not forgetting anyone! HI! Sorry I haven't posted in so long! I hope to hear from you soon! So…

My weight is NOW 161.8 as of this morning - Oh, NOoooo! I hit a "bump in the road" and "fell off the wagon"; so today I decided to hit "RESET" by deleting all my previous weight entries and updated my starting weight to TODAY, April 4, 2025. (I really went off the rails with eating AND drinking; so now I have to really "rein it in" and plan to keep my daily calorie intake at 1,450 or below, with NO ALCOHOL!

I had to scale back my social networking a bit because I've been getting a little overwhelmed; so I'm going to jump off some of the boards I had joined in order to regain some time and hopefully improve my focus.

I am definitely staying with THIS group though! YES, I slipped up (AGAIN), but I forgive myself and I'm making a brand-new start. I need to freshen up my resolve in these very trying times. If I don't take better care of myself, I just won't be strong enough to handle it - so HERE I GO!

Very best wishes to all on your own, personal "Wellness Journey"! I will try to post here at least once per day and will make sure to respond to anyone else who posts here.

Today is the first day of my Sober Journey, April 4th, 2025. I will post my number of AF days earned once I am "SAFE at HOME BASE!" (I've decided maybe daily tracking IS best. I will post monthly milestones, rather than the in-betweens, and will optimistically look forward to posting my first year Soberversary on April 4th, 2026!

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi Carole,

I need to do a reset also. I celebrated my birthday with a restaurant meal and alcohol. I'm hoping to get back on track from this weekend.

I know what you mean with the social media too. I've been thinking about that for a while and need to implement a cull!

    All the best!

    Hi Carol, SunnyDays, and Lowtech,

Wishing you the best on your health journey. I've been drinking but not tons. I can always tell how much I drink based on my sleeping heart rate. Two glasses of wine does not affect my sleep or heart rate, but 3-4 sure does. I am trying to keep it to two if possible. But of course, the brain wants what the brain wants!! Occasionally I binge. But most days, I am steady on the tightrope.

I just don't have the resolve to do better these days. The world is falling apart and so is my job. I do love seeing your posts though. They help.

    Hi and Happy Weekend!

I did manage to resist yesterday so I can count Day One as completed.

    AF since 04/04/25 (Day 001)

    C'mon back, @SunnyDays930! We miss you!🌷

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @LowTechForever!🎂 It's great that you got to celebrate but didn't go way "overboard!" So glad you came back!

@RubyRed427, Please hang in there. I think things will probably get worse before they get better but I also believe that all of this upheaval cannot last. I'm worried about my job, too (NIH just abruptly terminated 7 of our research grants without notice and we've been issued warnings about what to do if ICE calls or shows up (about 20-22% of our research people are here on visas) and yes, the world is going CRAZY right now and we're all stressed out! It's hard to stay motivated when we don't feel secure and we're anxious about what's going to happen. Please remember: You are never alone. Please feel free to come here whenever you need to share, whether you're drinking or not. This is a safe and welcoming space. I'm going to check this board every day from now on…

I need to learn ways to find some serenity in these turbulent times. My heart rate and blood pressure are also so adversely affected by alcohol. In my case, I think quitting is a matter of survival now, in my case. I HAVE to STOP! Plus, I definitely can't afford it anymore!

"Forgiveness is to accept the fact that the past can't change." (Sober Time's message for today.)

    Have a peaceful day,

    💞 Carole

@Walela617 I will pray for your job security. It is so scary that you are all trying to make the world better with your research, and it is jeopardy. As you know, I'm in education. Our state funding is being gutted so extremely that it's going to cause great harm for the most innocent: the children. I'm worried about the ripple effect that will last for years and years because of all of these cuts.

I will always be part of this group. You are all welcoming, forgiving, and non-judgemental. It's my safe space.

My cat's former foster mom is a teacher, too. She's an art teacher at Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston, MA. She is very worried also. It's just awful what's happening in our country. 😢

I agree, everything is going to hell in a hand basket. My sister may get laid off and she is the biggest breadwinner by far in her household. Everything is worrisome. I have been having too much wine every day, thinking it will help but as we all know, it makes us even more anxious once it wears off. I have a cardiologist appt this Friday and I just CANNOT drink anything more this week. It makes my heart race every time I indulge. Please encourage me to stay sober until then at least. Thank you.❤️

Hi @SunnyDays930, I have the same effect when I still l drink with accelerated heart rate. Also, my boys pressure goes through the roof for the next few days after a binge.

I'm worried about my sister, too, because she has an overpayment with Social Security and I'm afraid that soon they will take 100% of her payment until it's paid off instead of partial payments. She still works full time too. (She's supposed to turn 68 on June 20th.)

Wishing you all the best for your doctor's appt. this Friday!

Hi! "Here we are again, circle never ends…"

Hi @SunnyDays930, so, another lapse for me. I actually overdid it on Tuesday evening to the point where I was sick the next day (vomited several times in the afternoon while at work)! I also broke a longstanding taboo: I brought alcohol home with me. (BIG "No-no" due to "no off button"!) I drank a whole bottle of something - I think it might have been tawny port or something like that. I don't even remember. I also ate a Snickers bar and a small bag of pretzels, plus I had eaten a lot during the day and that evening as well. Very best wishes for your appointment with the cardiologist!💐

I had no alcohol and very little food on Wednesday. I'm back to normal and I don't intend to drink today; however, I will mark my reset date (and new Soberversary date) as Friday, April 11th (which is also "National Pet Day")!

I NEED to make this stick. It is very budget-prohibitive to keep buying alcohol and going out to restaurants and it is destroying my mental, physical and emotional health. It is absolutely essential that I become stronger in these very trying times so I can be best equipped to deal with challenging days, weeks and months ahead.

I will post all the milestones taken from the "Sober Time" app, but I will make them smaller. I think I need to resume keeping a daily count. Each evening's posted count will mark number of days completed by midnight on that day. (Day 1 posting will be on April 12th to show a AF full day behind me, and so on.)

I will be weighing in tomorrow. I sure hope I'm out of the 160's by morning. I'm hoping to weigh 158 or less, because I already drew up new tracking charts based on that.

I will check in again this evening, but I will also post my new reset on April 11th (Friday).

    Enjoy your day!

    💗Carole

    Hi everyone,
