    Gorgeous day. Walked 2.3 miles.
i read books instead of watching TV. Now that you present it as a way to make exercise bearable, i will give it a whirl. I do love a good mystery.

When I read how much you exercise, I am convicted by my own sluggy lifestyle. I must try to reform!

Go Cat! You deal with food much better than I do.

It was a gorgeous day here as well. I was able to hike a local trail with a friend, and it felt great to be in the woods.

Today was a big food failure day. 6 year old grandgirl had a birthday party at our house with all the family. She wanted hotdogs with homemade rolls and chocolate cupcakes. I also ate potato chips and dip plus ice cream. Absolutely no control whatsoever!

I did get exercise because I took all the kids to the playground after lunch. Whew! I am exhausted, but it was a happy day.

    No change from last week.🤷‍♀️

Michelle May says we don't want to be in control of our eating. We want to be in charge. You had a special day and you chose to eat things you probably wouldn't eat on an ordinary day. You had an amazing day with family, and you were happy. I would have done the same.

up a pound and a half.

I need to be in charge! I also wasn’t in charge last night at a church dinner.

    Kicking myself this morning

    Don't kick yourself!

Exercise went well yesterday. Today, I'm going to start tracking again. Have a good day, Cat.

made a doc appointment for Monday. Why am I so tired and worthless? Time to stop whining about it and seek some answers.

randi, I also need to be diligent anout tracking. Goingto try harder.

Strike that word "worthless" out of your post! I'm glad you have a doctor' appointment scheduled to get to the root cause of your tiredness.

Day 1 of tracking went fine. I even stayed within my calorie limit. Exercise was not as good. I couldn't walk early because I had a breast ultrasound scheduled. (It was fine.😊) I was tired from not having slept the night before. My sacroiliac joints seem to shift a bit and when that happens, I get pain in that area, but it also catches a nerve and sends pain down my leg. I did a few yoga stretches, but didn't want to challenge myself with weights.

    Good luck today.

easy not to eat today. Got a dental crown and I will be numb for hours.

Randi, you are so faithful to exercise and flexibility. Can not believe you still tried stretches in spite of your pain!

After 3 nights of almost no sleep, I did catch some zzzs last night, so I am feeling better today. Lack of sleep interferes with my willpower, but I did stick to tracking and have been okay calorie-wise. Exercise has been kaput, but I think I can ease back into it today.

    We can do this, Cat!

no sleep is a factor in not lising weight, Randi. I read an article about that a while back. I think it mat have been a link from this site. I hope you get into a regular healthy sleep pattern soon. Have you tried magnesium glycinate at bedtime?

    Down 0.5.

Cat I did start magnesium glycinate a couple of weeks ago. It seems to be helping. The issue this past week was the sacroiliac pain which gets much worse with lying down. It's improving though, and I actually slept well last night. Yoga class this morning.😊

    Have a great day!

    up two pounds.

Two birthday parties and s church dinner. It’s all on me. I have GOT to do better.

Back to logging meals and exercise. I have got to establish some accountability!

Cat, hopefully your social life will slow down a bit!😂

I've decided that I will track on weekdays but not on weekends. That doesn't mean a license to go wild on weekends, just a break from the tracking which I loathe.

that’s a great idea, Randi. The free weekend can be a reward for slugging through tracking all week!

blew it today. Contractor said he is coming tomorrow to gut my kitchen. I thought I had another week yikes! I will be up half the night. Meanwhile, stress eating everything in sight.

    How exciting though…a new kitchen!

I had restaurant food for both lunch and dinner yesterday, and I can see the swelling in my fingers from the salt load. I'm not stepping on the scale today.

    I dont blame you, Randi!

I am down 1.5 BUT my kitchen gets gutted today and lots of restaurant food next 3 weeks. Gonna be tough.

i have been so faithful to log everything this week. I made careful choices in restaurants, watched portion size, walked at least 30 minutes every day, logged everything. If those scales dont move tomorrow, I may go back to myslovenly ways 😂

Great behavior, Cat! I hope the scale shows the number you deserve.

Down 0.8. The weather has been limiting my walking.😔

Great job Randi! My NP said the goal needs to be a half pound a week because we are more likely to keep it off if we lose slowly.

Down 2.8. I know it is probably mostly waterweight, but I wll take it 😊

i am trying to eat more vegetarian meals. I need to build up my good cholesterol. Got any favorite recipes?

I found a sweet potato and lentil stew recipe on MFP that I absolutely love. I’ll see if I can find the link. I don’t know if you like spicy food. I love Indian foods and make Chana masala, a tasty chick pea dish, as the Christmas entree for our vegetarians and vegans. Another fav is black bean soup. I’ll check my recipes and try to send links or photos tomorrow.

i printed all three recipes. My husband hates coriander and curry, so on the Indian dish I will have to figure out a way to tweak. He likes spicy Mexican and Thai food, so I am sure I can figure out a way to make that dish to his taste.

    Thanks so much

I hope you like them. They've been some of my go-to recipes for years and I have foisted them on many guests.🤣
