@nancyinmiami I can only imagine your frustration at waiting to see the results get "back to normal" with your eyesight. I hope you don't have to have another procedure and that you are just needing more time to heal…everyone goes through a different path in recovering, but I had to giggle at your reaction to people saying they were fine in just a few days. I'd want to slap them too! It's those same kind of people who make comments like, "well losing weight's not that hard…" UGH!
Keeping you in my prayers and hoping you continue to get better a little each day!!! Glad you had a nice loss this week…and I'm envious of that beautiful pool!! Wow…

5/10: 14,134I didn't get much of a chance to walk on Friday. My sons have Speech and Occupational therapies in the morning, and it was over 100 degrees by the afternoon. I'm going to have to switch to summer schedule, where we get up early to get outside before breakfast, if we go out at all. I'm not looking forward to summer this year. I like having more freedom to go outside throughout the day at the time of my choosing.

So sorry for being MIA! It's been a good week for exercise . Got my bike out for a long ride yesterday to see the beautiful tulips. Aren't they gorgeous?! They made me so happy to see and an awesome destination for my ride.

Friday Strong Seniors
Saturday first bike ride in longer than I care to admit. Only about a mile and what I initially thought was a slight uphill portion seemed to get steeper as I pedaled but I didn’t stop until I got back home. 😊
@pedal__power such a beautiful destination, thank you for sharing. Reminds me of Keukenhof!

I did a long run yesterday (7 miles, my longest yet!). And I did some cleaning around the house and some errands. Then I saw I was a couple thousand steps short of my goal for my weekly Garmin step challenge, so walked a little extra.
I had a relaxing weekend, with my boys at my mom's for a couple of nights. I ate way too much. I have to get back on track. I filled the fridge with healthy food and have a rough plan for meals and workouts. Hopefully, I can stop making excuses and start doing what I need to do.
Have a good week, everyone!!

@Zaxa2021 I'm logging those steps as being for 5/11 (yesterday), not 5/12 (today). 🙂

It’s a rainy morning so I’m not sure if the water will be calm enough for rowing. We might need to workout inside the boathouse. 🏋️♀️ It’s more fun to be on the river, but weight lifting helps strengthen my bones, so it’s all good. At my annual physical last month, my doctor was surprised to see that my bone density has improved. I’ve been taking a caramel-flavored calcium chew since I learned I had osteopenia, but I thought I could only maintain my current bone density, so I was glad to hear it had actually improved!
I hope you all have a good week, Shape Shifters! Go get those goals!

Hi team! Let’s talk about affirmations: those little things we tell ourselves to get or stay motivated. We all know those internal thoughts can make or break us. So what do you say to yourself to get on track (or stay on track)? This very cool Mother’s Day affirmation mirror was made by and given to me by my daughter when she was 16. It hangs in my office as a daily reminder of what’s possible (you may need to zoom in to read it).

@nancyinmiami That's a wonderful gift to have received from your daughter. The force is strong with that one. Good job!
