Quick check in! Had a good day of eating, and a great dance cardio session with my girls. Day 2 of my strength challenge tomorrow.

I am on schedule with week 1 of my workout challenge which feels like a miracle this week. but, eating has continued to be really poor. Likely my 4th straight gain to report tomorrow, boooo.

We have a big storm system rolling through the east coast right now and it looks like the long weekend will be bleh. No kayaking for me! But I am planning a rather large shopping trip. Clothes, Costco, need new work shoes, the works. And at least the poor weather means I can sleep better, because I can cool down my bedroom more easily.

    Greetings Friends!

Today is Day 5 of my 30-day Scott Baptie Fat-Loss Challenge, and it's going well! Because I cook most things from scratch anyway, the meal plan has been really easy to follow. It helps that all dishes, so far, are delicious!

I print the weekly recipe pictures and put them on the fridge so hubby stays focused too - and it's working! The challenge also comes with a handy shopping list, so I'm less likely to stray and buy anything inappropriate. I meal prep every 2 or 3 days, which is manageable. Oh, and some of Scott Baptie's recipes are on MFP! What luck!

This weekend will be my first test as I have decided to cut out alcohol for the duration of the challenge, and I intend to go grocery shopping after church on Sunday (for Week 1, I arranged a delivery of my groceries).

Hope everyone has a super weekend. We have a public holiday on Monday, so it's a long weekend here in England.

Friday Weigh In - a day late!

    CW: 250.6

Ugh. Knew it was coming but still so disappointed to see the wrong decade show its face again

On the other hand, proud of myself for getting through week 1 of my workout challenge! Feeling quite sore but stronger already... and the rain has finally paused this morning so I might try to get some kayaking in before I head to some shopping.

@Kali225 you may be retaining some fluid from the new workouts. Keep them up though! It's always good to be strong!

@YinxFed that is awesome you made it to day 5! I didn't realize it came with a meal plan, too. That is awesome! We have a long weekend here too. Do you have plans on Monday?

So the night before, I only slept 2 hours with my mind just getting away from me the whole night. So last night I fell asleep at 7pm haha. I woke up feeling ok this morning, and did a 5.3 mile group walk/run. Lots of fun! Then I came home, at breakfast and weeded in the yard. This afternoon hubby and I are going to the park for a bit and then his friends are coming over. I'm still trying to decide what to make everyone for dinner.

This time last week I was absolutely buzzing from not only finishing but smashing my trail run, and now I'm tried, depressed and have been eating like an idiot. I think I used up all my happy chemicals and I'm struggling to replenish…

@Alatariel75 ugh sorry to hear that. I would also put myself in the boat of "eating like an idiot" this past week+. Currently dreaming up my meal plan for this week, trying to get myself inspired with a mix of healthy stuff (chicken and broccoli recipes), and things that will keep me interested in the meal by Thursday (potatoes).

I had a pretty fun time shopping yesterday. I was out for almost 6 hours! I really needed a new pair of shoes for everyday at the office, so I got a simple pair of black loafers at DSW, a new set of my favorite sandals (brand called Italian Shoemakers - they are such pretty flip-flop style shoes, and they last a surprising amount of time for being inexpensive!), and a pair of casual white sneakers. The only sneakers I currently own are running shoes, and I hate how they look with jeans when going out to dinner or the like. I also got a bunch of new tank tops for working out, a dress for work that is a shocking US size 14 (a bit tight in the top but the skirt is so pretty and it has pockets!), some socks, and a jumpsuit and plain long ribbed summery dress from Old Navy. I never think to shop there, but wow, everything was so cheap. I was thrilled, and a good way to get all my steps on such a crummy weather day.

@lauren_989 I think I want to go on the support team for this week + June if that's okay! I foresee some more ups and downs and probably water weight moves as I continue to recover from coming off my medication. Need to level set a bit before heading into the real summer months.

@Kali225 That sounds like a fun shopping day—thank you for sharing your purchases with us! I'm rather ambivalent about shopping (non-food), and I get really wound up when I can't find what I want. Immediately. I normally have to build in regular reward stops. For example, if I successfully buy the first item on my list, I can sit down and have an indulgent coffee (normally at a pavement cafe so that I can get some quality people watching done). The next reward might be to buy a pair of custom earrings. And so it goes on… And that's why I only do it once every 18 months or so!

Haha @YinxFed I'm the same way! And don't get me started on bathing suits!

@Kali225 Sure! I will move you to support, but please check in and let us know what you are up to. And I totally misread the first part of your post. I thought you needed different shoes every day of the work week 😂
