Epsom bath soaking in hot water ... I have so many welty skeeter bites. I can't tell anymore if it's all welty skeeter bites, or if it's rashy welts too. Sooooo itchy!!

    Happy Thursday!

Yesterday the appointment went well, just LOOOONG! Left their house at 8;45, got back home at 12:15!!! UGH!!! I did a 30 min walk before work with my sister and didn't get to my strength/flexibility after work because I didn't get home until almost 6pm (left their house at 4;15!). I will have to make it up on day 76…. Other than that, my 75 soft is going well! :)

Today's plans (T-1 week until Hannah and Jonah come, and I REFUSE to do another 40,000+ step day trying to get ready for them!)

    1. Exercise room: Clean off table and massage table
    2. 2nd bath: clean floor, toilet
    3. Theater room- clean up in front of TV stand
    4. Laundry
    5. Lower body at lunch

Yes, these collectively look random, but will make a huge difference LOL

Fitbit says rest day. Sounds good to me. Tomorrow I'll be hitting it. Today, laundry, etc etc etc, early to bed, hopefully. Another epsom salt bath soak, likely.

FUN on kidlet visit! LOl I feel ya on no 40k step day the day before! Pumped for your 75 Soft for you! Loved reading Darlene's updates, looking forward to reading yours.

    Cheers!

Good afternoon! Well, I've already failed 75 soft! LOL I missed my reading yesterday, trying to decide if I start over or add a day on the end. One person said read double today. I could, but…. not sure that's the right move (as you so eloquently put last week!). What's your opinion?

Today I have a brisket on the smoker and coffee ice cream in the freezer for dessert- we got a Ninja Creami and just love it!

I'm on call this weekend and next, and I've already told Scott he's helping me clean this weekend :) The city has taken our street and ground down the top layer- they are re-paving soon! But now it's a mess to go down and I'm guessing they won't be back tomorrow to finish the job… LOL

Hope you're doing well and recovered from your busy weekend! Sorry about the gain, but I'm sure it will come off as soon as you get back to your "normal" eating!

Good afternoon! out most of the late morning & early afternoon for errands. Snacking and having a protein tea right now (and going to watch an ep of Hawaii Five-O too :p). Thx, on the scale encouragement! Yea, I def don't vote for double today (for the reasons you reference, lol). When Darlene did her 75 Soft Chall, she built in 3 'pass' days. I can't remember if you built in pass days? If not, yea, tack a day on the end. :)

ugh off yuck! on street paving!

BTW, why does protein not follow the i before e rule? ;p

  • jennywren93
    jennywren93 Posts: 723 Member

I didn't even THINK about building in a Pass day…. maybe I need to do that retroactively! :)

Will be getting moving on the house after my (2nd) cup of coffee I'm currently having!

I pulled the brisket off the smoker about 8;30 last night and put it in the over on slow cooker low mode for 6 hours. It's pretty tender!

And yeah, I don't understand why Protein doesn't follow the rules! But I will say, I've been trying to get 135+g protein a day and was losing every day. The last 2 days I've gotten 100-110 and I've gained. Go figure….

    Plans for today:

    1. change the sheets
    2. Main bath
    3. exercise room
    4. fill water bottles
    5. laundry

Good morning! Your brisket sounds spectacular!! Yes, build in those Pass Days retroactively! I am up on the scale again today. It's just a train wreck week! That's what's happening, and I'm just going to accept that that is what is happening and give myself a couple days until I feel better, and sleep regular and then it'll turn around. 🤷‍♀️

PS - went to check out orthotics at The Good Feet Store yesterday. I just typed a visit summary for my other team. Here's my blurb ~

I went with a friend to The Happy Feet store yesterday, to see if orthotic insert could help calm heel pain that has been flaring on and off since April when I had a plantar fasciitis event (boy that's fun - NOT). I had no idea what the place was, my friend told me about it. It didn't take long before I was starting to feel like this was a Kirby Vacuum type of deal? You know, when the person comes to your house, demos a vac and charges you a couple thousand for a machine that should cost a fraction of that? Yea, that's what The Good Feet was. Sure, the orthotic did feel good, and my PT did mention that an orthotic that cupped the heel could be helpful, but holic potatoe pie, Batman! It was $1,635 for the BASIC package. They conveniently offered a $135 monthly payment plan. lol The deluxe package was $2400-something. I read about i after I got home. Here's an eye-opening podiatrist's review (which confirmed my gut feeling, even before I found out the price):

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.joelfosterdpm.com%2Fblog%2Fpodiatrists-honest-review-of-the-good-feet-store-experienced-kansas-city-area-podiatrist.cfm

No, thank you :). It was a good experience tho, and reminded me to try out some inserts so my right heel isn't always sore or tender after high-usage days. I ordered a few to try out, on Amazon. All for less than one monthly payment ;-). If they do seem to help, I might consider the Powerstep option he mentions, that could cost something under $100 for a pair. We'll see!

Oh boy! Sounds like Fleet Feet here! I haven't been, but heard horror stories! We went to a New Balance Store and got our feet measured, etc. They asked what our complaints were, the examined our feet, put them on a digital something or other, even provided optional inserts (that were really nice). Yes, it ended up being about $150/pair (one for me, one for Scott), but they really educated us on what we need to look for in shoes (wide toe box, wide heels for a good platform), and it really helped a lot! You might look into something like that!

    mkksemail Posts: 4,710 Member

I actually remember doing that about a dozen yrs or so ago, when I got my 1st pair of NBs. I don't remember everything they said, other than learning that I really needed to find wide widths for me, when I can. NB only offers the base that I needed in a few models. I can't remember what it was called, a last, maybe?

Good shoes are SO worth it (especially boots, if you live in Maine! I even have NB boots, in 2 colors!). But not to the tune that The Good Feet Store was singing! lol!

    Happy Sunday, J! 🤭🐢

ohhhh, thank goodness, partial swoll whoosh! down this morning, scale kept going up up up day after day after day. Down 2.6 this morning (still 2.8 lbs up from Jul 31, tho! As of yesterday, I had been up 5.4 lbs in 10 days (again!), from Jul 31, to Aug 9 😳, darn swolls!). I signed up for a 1-week long Partner Up activity-based challenge in my F2F group, starting today. Time to move again, rest time is over!

    Cheers, ~ mk :)

PS - I'm adding Power Hour and Declutter with Jennywren to my goal sheet and bingo card on my break challenge for another group Xx

Happy Monday night! About to go to bed…. LOL

Hannah comes in 2 days, I'm panicking! :) I'm overwhelmed, but at least I got the camper cleaned up today, will put fresh sheets on the bed on Wednesday.

Tonight I vented to Scott about how anxious I am for them to come, work didn't really give warm fuzzies today ( my boss said he doesn't think they will be giving us access to a tool everyone uses with the other company, so that spoke volumes to me).

I've been in a blue funk for a few days, so I'm trying to fight through it, and tonight I just had to vent. I'll do better tomorrow.

Good morning sweet girl! I was wondering about you. Afraid you were bummed that I haven't been exactly FLYing lately. Big hugs coming to you through the ether ((((((((( Jennywren! )))))))))

I have been working on perfecting that Bingo board for a few months now, on and off. Whenever one of the weeks for my other challenge featured a Bingo Board, I'd play with it. We're on a 5-wk break right now. One of my teammates adapted a feature of one of my other team's internal challenges (personal exercise goal, personal nutrition goal, and personal self-improvement goal) to a really fun, appealing-colored color scheme that ties in to her 2025 personal Vision Verse (2025 Vision Verse: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7).

I built it out to encompass 12-wks, plus a bonus week, and a summary board for the weeks, with each week featuring a similarly inspired inspo verse from multiple religious and philosophical texts (thanks, Chat GPT), along with one original inspo verse penned by Chatty 5 (the newest model is Chat GPT -5O or however it's written :p). I call it Chatty sometimes, so I called its 'pen name' Chatty 5 for the credit ;-).)

Anyway, I know how we both love checking out new ways to organize ourselves (lol), so you want to see? :D. It's turtle-featured, bc my other team has a tortoise mascot. The Goals board layout inspo is from a teammate's board. The Bingo board is pretty neat, bc both the big board, and the snapshot board above it, 'color themselves in' as you check off a box as completed. The not-so-neat part of these trackers is, I haven't actually filled in many bingo squares yet, bc I was checked out for vaca, then zoomed in on spreadsheeting :p. The new week starts on Wed, so tomorrow (for sure!) I buckle down!

    Cheers, ~ mk :)

Edit - I finally have the structure I want for the Bingo Board, but I haven't turned my attention yet to updating it on our link, bc I was in over my head trying to keep up with 2 teams of challenges :p (and then on top of that, I joined a third team so I could participate in the Atomic Habits read, plus I have my greenie group, which I haven't visited in a week ! ). But I want to, for our bingo link, add add different colors for planned, completed, bingo, etc, and add the dropdown that allows for that. Plus, what I really want, is a 'picker' that will autopopulate my day list, pulling from the bingo boards! heh. All that is in future, tho. I'm happy with what I have, for now.

Hump Day ! Also, the start of a new 'break' week on my turtle team, so it's a good time to reset. We're in the middle of a sticky hot spell, so we've had ac going in the bedroom at night, since Sunday. I slept a ton, but I feel like a foggy brick :p.

Really REALLY donwanna, but I'm going to hit PF for a workout tomorrow or today, no take backs! :D

Eric and I watched the 1st episode of the first Yellowstone prequel the other day. The first Duttons were coming out from Tennessee. Thought of you! Xx Sending brightness, so your blue funk turns into blue skies 💙💛. Cheers! ~ mk :)

    Happy Hump Day!

What a comprehensive spreadsheet! I know who to come to when I want to start upping my game! :) Both with the spreadsheet AND the bingo! :)

Got a good amount done last night, I will be starting on bathrooms in a little bit, have to get the exercise room picked up too, but feeling less stressed about getting everything done! :)

I'm working on upping my protein intake. I heard a trainer talk about how much he recommends for fast weight loss:

Minimum protein: your current weight X 0.8

    Max protein: your current weight

Calorie target minimum: your current weight X 11

Calorie target maximum: your current weight X 12.

it's a lot more than I usually eat, so I'm going to try it for a week and see what happens!

I've also gotten my RingFit on the Nintendo Switch back up and running and MAN is it FUN! It has strength/flexibility, but also has running and other stuff! I try to do ONLY 30 min at lunch, but usually end up with 40! I get a good sweat and it gets my heart rate up! :)

    Ok, off to bathrooms!

What? I didn't reply!? Cool on Nintendo Switch & Ring Fit! Ooof, on the protein! That's way too rich for me :p. I try to hit 20% of cals as my upper limit, while also trying not to get more than ~25g-30g in any 2 hr period (and do try to stick to ~ 20-25g per 2-hrs). I don't want to stress my kidneys, and also I do NOT want to get kidney stones again (had them once, around the time I was doing Atkins, no ty on repeating that experience). Those calorie numbers seem high as well. Would love to hear about how your 1-wk experiment goes! I wonder what age group the trainer meant, and how many hours of resistance training and cardio training per week, too.

(Late!) Thursday ci! I did get to PF, oh wow, it was hard to get started again, after 3+ weeks without doing anything but walking. I did half of my 5 mi bike ride, and 5 of 12 PTEs. Didn't go upstairs for weight machines. I think I may do three in a row like that, partial bike, partial PT, and work my way back up to a full workout at one go.

I also did part of my Power Hour yesterday! [TWO 15s, organizing, cleaning, or decluttering … and dishes/laundry do not count; Litter boxes, scoop - or sweep up the scatter around boxes (if Eric scooped); Bathroom swish & swipe; LOL thru the dryer, & fold (or lol in wash & hang, if nothing to dry/fold)] … I did 10.27 fifteens (154 mins) :p … and none of the rest. LOL I need to aim for focus, consistency, and moderation ;-).

    Happy Friday!

Edit - PS ~ thanks! on the spreadsheet / bingo structure 🤗

Hello Happy Saturday! I hope you're enjoying your visit with Hannah and Jonah! The heat wave broke, it's been lovely weather the last 2 days here in Maine. Got to PF again yesterday, did the other half of my bike ride, another 1/3 of my PTEs and a 4 min on the elliptical. Shocked at how hard it is to ramp back up after 3 weeks of no PTEs or PF visits bc of knee injections and traveling. Easier to keep doing stuff than to re-start stuff, that's for sure.

I'll check in again tmo. Cheers! ~ mk :)

Happy Monday! It was an interesting visit, and it went a little sideways! We had fun with Hannah and Jonah, but Thursday mom went to the ER. They finally decided she probably had salmonella, but she was in the hospital 2 days. We were supposed to do dinner with them Friday, but ended up visiting in the hospital. They went home that night and got home about 3 am!!! They said they will be coming back for a week at Christmas, though!!!

I’m at my parents today, dad has an appointment at 1, and mom usually drives him, but she’s weak after her adventure. I’ll also be spending Sept 8-11? At their house, dad has surgery on his arm/hand on the 9 th and Stacey asked if I can stay a couple days to help after he gets home….

I’ve gotten my 30 minute walk in, hoping to get another workout done when I get home.
Scott has to go into work all week, as his boss is in town…. gonna be a long week. At least my house is in pretty decent shape right now! LOL

    Sorry for being MIA….

Oh gosh, your parents are becoming frequent fliers at the hospital !! Glad you had a nice visit with Hannah & J. No worries about being MIA! I still chatted at ya :D. lol ~

Happy Monday! I got to the gym twice last week. Considering trying to visit today, but I don't know. Insomnia allll night. I shut off lights too late, and it felt too late to take nighttime supps & melatonin, but I should have anyway! At 6:30, since I was wide awake, I ordered a pile of Wendy's breakfast biscuits (lol, they're having a sale, only $1.00). The guy said they didn't have enough biscuits made yet, so I did my Drops Turkish app while I waitied, still no biscuits ready, so I started marching up and down the parking lot to get my steps, heh. Auto-clocked a 12-min walk on Fitbit, lol. I did get a whole 3h 38m sleep score 65 Fair from 08:39 - 12:48 tho. Burrrbbbggggghhhhbbbb !! Hoping the sun in my eyes for ~ 25 mins this morning, plus a very short sleep will compensate for the damage I did to my circadian rhythm by staying up all night .🙃

No Power Hour plans today, but tomorrow ….. !! Xx

Happy Tuesday! Yeah, they are a mess sometimes! LOL At least it was nothing worse than Salmonella, but I also think the hospital sees what good insurance they have and keep them at least a day longer than they need to be there, but that's just me.

I slept terrible last night, my stomach was unhappy, so I was up for about an hour. I did midnight shopping on amazon and got my immodium and butt wipes (Poor man's bidet, as Scott put it). It was here before 7! (Expected arrival time 7-11!) So, hopefully things start to smooth out for me!

I did get a 40 minute walk in this morning, and am on my 2nd cup of coffee. I do have a few things to get done around here to straighten up after company and being gone. Here's my list for today:

    1. laundry
    2. fill water bottles
    3. pick up table
    4. Clean counters
    5. RingFit at lunch
    6. pick up camper- wash sheets
    7. Find time to relax
    8. 75 Soft Video/edit/post
    9. Call dentist about my aligners-it's time to get back in for an appt

Happy Wednesday! Well, I got a few things done yesterday! :) I also had to go over and help out a neighbor- he had PT at the house yesterday and they left his walker too far away from him, and his wife wasn't home! I'm just glad they felt comfortable enough to ask me to help them out! :)

    Already done today:

    1. Called the bank to unlock our account (thanks to Scott for locking it last week)
    2. got my daily walk video uploaded to all socials
    3. started unloading the DW, will need to get the ice cream in the freezer soon if we want it for tonight
    4. Got my bible reading done for today- this is the HARDEST part of my 75 soft! I NEED to get more consistent!

What I need to do today:

    1. Call dentist about my aligners
    2. make bed
    3. Laundry- I am down to my 2nd to last pair of socks, and I need to wash shirts/shorts for my walks!
    4. Film a video for my 75 soft (still haven't done one! I'm so mad at myself!)
    5. Walk at lunch

Happy Wednesday! Well done, you're rocking the day so far. YUM on the ice cream, go put it in the freezer, girl! :D Imma give you a push on that 75 Soft video. You'll be happy at the end to have one at the beginning to compare it to, J!

Kind of a mashed potato today. Got 3h 15m sleep :/. Trying to recover from a bad bout of insomnia on Monday night. Having my need for sleep high should help reset it. Hopefully! (stayed up until 5:45 this morning, man my night owl wants to fly free!). ~ mk Xx

Happy Friday Eve! Poor Scott is working so many hours this week and he's got to go all the way to Nashville, last night he got home after 8…. :( HIs boss is in town to help with the migration, and it's just a lot of work. Scott was nervous to tell his boss a few weeks ago he can't do it on his own with all the other stuff he needs to do to support the 2 biggest plants in the company, but I think his boss this week is realizing why he said that.

Today it was cool enough to wear a sweatshirt for my morning walk! I love fall!!! I did get the ice cream in the freezer, so I'm looking forward to it tonight! I even scraped out the vanilla beans for the vanilla ice cream! :) I decided on my walk today that I am going to make a video today and start over on Monday with 75 soft because I've done a terrible job already and it's just better to restart at this point. With Scott working so many hours, it's bringing me down and my eating choices haven't been great (keto/carnivore, but snacky and not tracking), so need to remedy that today.

I got lights done yesterday, and the Darks are finishing up now. I also got my walking video uploaded to all media, at least I'm getting consistent with that… sigh…

    Today's List:

    1. Clean bathrooms
    2. litter boxes
    3. make a menu
    4. order food for delivery
    5. 75 soft restart video
  • mkksemail
    mkksemail Posts: 4,710 Member

Ohhhhh, you are restarting! I was going to ask you if you wanted to do three monthly bingos with me and use the goal focus boards, starting in September, but I figured it wouldn't be right to ask bc you were already in the middle of another tracking regime. I can't start now, bc I still have 2 weeks left on my summer interim bingo board with another group. LOL so I just last night asked in a 3rd group if anyone wanted to do a 3-mo fall bingo challenge with me (1 board for each month) ! You interested? We could still do our own.

WTG on the ice cream! Poor Scott, at least he's busy, right? :D I feel ya tho, on changes like that affecting choices. I don't feel like I'm a routine person, but I think I sort of am. I do much better with structure than with spontaneity / anything goes ;-).

GOOD JOB on laundry, and yea, me too, I need to get back to being consistent on that. Katie asked last minute (like, 2 days ago, lol) if Eric could pet sit for a week, starting tomorrow. So from Sat - Fri I'll be solo. I plan to put the time to good use. I'm going to work on cementing structure/routine with regard to getting back to PF, meeting my self-chosen Power Hour and Declutter with Jennywren goals, and taking nighttime meds before midnight. I can't make a goal of getting to sleep before midnight, b/c sleep often eludes me, but I certainly can make a goal of being ready for sleep (AND taking my melatonin, chelated magnesium, valerian root, trazadone, aleve, and benedryl, so I have the possibility of sleeping ;-) … ) before midnight!

I'd love to see your walking video, and congratulations, you! Well Done!

    Cheers,

    ~ mk :)

Happy Friday! Sorry I was MIA, last night I was channeling my inner MK and decided sleep was highly overrated. I woke up every 30 min from 12:30-4 (Alarm goes off at 5:15), with a longer up time about 3am because someone hacked my TikTok. I was able to recover everything, but my sleep score was 30. My stomach was really wrenched up, so I've been fasting today and having some broth to test it. We had Whataburger last night and I wonder if that's what caused my "explosive" night…. I'm making some soft boiled eggs to see they will settle.

I like your plans! I think I'm going to pass on bingo this time, but keep asking because I do want to do it again! I was originally going to restart 75 soft on Monday, but after the events the last 24 hours, will play it by ear. BTW, you can see all my walking videos (shorts) on TikTok, IG, or YouTube under the name "Keto Couple Life".

WELL»» Started the above yesterday! I was SO tired yesterday I was falling asleep by 7;30 last night! Got a good night sleep for sure!

Told Scott that this weekend is about his recovery from a crap week, so he's planning our weekend! So far he's decided we'll clean the kitchen/dining room then head out to find some local distilleries! I got a pretty dress a couple weeks ago, so I'll wear that when we go out today! :)

Feeling MUCH better today, which is wonderful! Well, Scott's working on dishes, so I'm heading there! have a great weekend!

Ahhhhh, enjoy your fun date in your pretty dress !! haha, lol about channeling your inner MK and deciding sleep was overrated 😂🤣. Sympathies for the poor sleep tho! Sleep score 30 - that's so bad, it's impressive! (heh)

Check! on the Bingo, I will keep checking in periodically tho. On the Keto Couple Life, first of all - super cute name! But, I don't really do socials, so I won't see them unless you drop me a link here ;-). The only reason I ran into on FB last winter was bc I was there to connect with the Prolon FMD Support Group. (And I haven't fasted since winter (Jan for sure, can't recall now if I did it in Feb, too), so I haven't seen any of your stuff.)

Glad you got a good sleep last night - I did toooooo !!!! Wooooooohoooo!! 8hr 49m, sleep score 89! And I needed it, this week has been a shitshow, my avg sleep for the 7 days was 5h 50m - not enough. And very uneven, with ~

    • 2 big sleeps (including last night - 8h 11m, 8h 49m), and
    • 4 really poor sleeps (3h 38m, 3h 15m, 4h 6m, blech), and
    • 2 mediocre (6h 2m, 6h 54m)

Check ya tmo, girl! ~ Xx

Just posted in my Waistaways F2F group (where I'd asked if anyone was interested in joining me on a 3-mo (4-mo?) fall (to end of yr?) sprint, focusing on goals (the boards under the bingo boards), and playing a monthly bingo game, to make a game of it. Copy/paste:

I started fleshing out my BINGO boards for September and October, bc my Hogwarts Slytherin House Common Room is using Bingo this coming term, too (just found that out recently, the new Howarts term starts on Monday). That game structure is 2 boards for 8 weeks, which is kinda a pretty close cousin to what I proposed for our little den here (monthly boards for the fall - Sep, Oct, Nov), maybe go to December and finish out the yr!

One of my housemates asked AI for a Hogwarts-themed list of tasks, and I loved every bit of it, so I adopted it wholesale, and then filled out the rest of the tasks, to reach 50 (bc I was populating 2 boards for my hogwarts slytherin house games). This was the list she posted (her post first, then the list):

I asked AI to come up with some HP Bingo tasks—here is a sample of what it returned! You can also ask for easy, moderate, and challenging tasks. Have fun!

How fun those tasks are! Now comes the fun part….. checking them off! :) You've got this! I believe in you!

This weekend was fun/exhausting! :) I was pretty sore last night! But I slept pretty good (score: 83!) We visited 4 distilleries in the area- well… I would call 2 of them a distillery…. on Saturday, and on Sunday we bumped around thrifting, which was fun too! :) It was nice to get away for a little bit. Scott and I walked outside last night- it was gorgeous out!- and every time he started talking about work, I changed the subject! :) We ate dinner at the bar shed Saturday night because it was so wonderful out! :)

This morning walk was cool- Started out at 60, ended (40 min) at 58!!! :) I was glad to have long leggings and a sweatshirt on! :) Here's my video from today: https://youtube.com/shorts/1_0pKiL81iw?feature=share

Today's plan- thanks to Scott this weekend the kitchen/dining stayed kept up and we got the exercise room cleaned up again (after his tools were everywhere and an additional table as he did some house-work (door jam) and hadn't cleaned it up!

    1. Clean main bathroom
    2. load (done), start (done), unload dw
    3. change sheets, wash dirty
    4. look through new (old) cookbooks for fun things to try this week
    5. work with Copilot to get a schedule set up to work on content consistently

BTW, I've made 0.88 Cents with YouTube! LOL Man! I can quit working now! rofl
