Thanks for the warm welcome back everyone! Of course the pictures of Tinus will return too. He is still doing great. We had a big vet appointment last week for his painkiller injection, vaccination and a blood test. Everything looked good and he is still doing awesome on the painkiller. We are going to the groomer tomorrow. Here he is today!

LtD: 24.7This is probably a loss of water weight after playing soccer last night. There is no way my calorie deficit totaled three pounds. So, I’ll likely see a “correction” next week. It’s motivating to move closer to my short-term goal of reaching a ‘normal’ BMI (~140) for my height though —

I did add regular exercise 5 days/week on September 2nd. A very low impact dance class from Dancebit. I do 40-50 minutes a day. Seeing progress!

thank you for asking! She’s doing great! I'm getting the hang of driving electric. So much more efficient when switching between break and the “gas”🤭 pedal. It’s a zippy little thing so I named her Pepper!

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a pretty good day yesterday! I am still walking almost every morning and the temperatures are so nice now. Very happy summer is over. Now we have mushroom time. It is fun to hunt for new ones every time I am out. In the afternoon I went to the gym and got in a good strength workout. I had the whole gym to myself as well which was cool. In the evening I got a package with new cat food for Tinus so he should be good for several months again. Happy Friday! 💜

CW: 145.8Yup. Over 4 pounds gain. I thought about asking to be excused this week, as my weight has been wild all week. But here I am, embracing the accountability aspect of this team.
But the truth is, I don't really know why it is so high. I had a bad couple of days over the weekend, but reigned it in over the last several days. But my weight refuses to go down. I have been more stressed than usual this week, and overall it's been a pretty rough week emotionally. Maybe that's contributing in some way? Oh well. I'm just going to take the L and move on.
As far as goals for the month, the only one I achieved is no nicotine. I'm something like 5 weeks nicotine free, and it's not really on my mind anymore.

@Zaxa2021 - I appreciate your post and reflection. Weight gain/ loss involves so many factors. I like the way you examine the one data point within the context of the week. Stress causes an increase in cortisol, which can result in inflammation. So, the higher weight could definitely relate to water retention. It is very unlikely that you consumed 14,000 calories over your maintenance level.
Congratulations on achieving your no nicotine goal! 🎉🎉🎉 That’s an amazing accomplishment! Keep up the good work and best wishes getting through this stressful period. This is an especially difficult time in parenting so I hope someone can step in to give you a break. Best wishes!3 -

CW: 127.8I needed to get back on the wagon with respect to my exercise routine, and this week’s weather made it a little easier to get back into my routine. It’s still summer in South Florida, but at least the rains have stopped for now. I see there are a few possible hurricanes/tropical storms in the Atlantic that might bring us more rain. I always thought I had a little “Seasonal Affected Disorder” when it came to rainy weather; I just didn’t realize how much the rain/clouds affected me until I moved to Miami. A few rainy/cloudy days and I’m ready to hide under the blankets lol.

That’s a great loss, @nancyinmiami, especially when you’re at such a low weight already. I’m the same way about overcast days. I want to eat salmon and hibernate when winter comes! 😴🐻😴
