What part of OC?

I'm over in Anaheim, near Ball Rd. I'm a member at the Planet Fitness on Katella, it's usually pretty empty there so I enjoy it. Anyone know of any good/challenging places to hike in the OC area?
hi neighbor... I'm in Anaheim too, off the 57 and Ball Rd. I go to the *other* Planet Fitness, over on Lincoln/ St College. I'm not sure what level hiking trails you are looking for, but two I enjoy are Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and Santiago Oaks Regional Park. The first one has a few challenging trails and has nice views over a wide area. Santiago is much smaller and has easier trails, more low key and relaxing. All depends on what you are comfortable with I guess.
That's not too far at all! And thank you, I was definitely looking at Laguna Coast, I've just yet to go. I hadn't heard about Santiago Oaks though, and I'm thinking that it may be a better place to start! Thank you so much for the info!0 -

I love to hike in OC. I don't know if you've heard of meetup.com, but if you google it and go to to their site, you can search groups and find an OC Hiking club that hikes all over. I like it because it's not a 'singles' thing or a 'couples' thing. It's just a good way to find new trails in a safe group environment. The group has hikes of all levels so if you're a beginner or an expert, there's something for you. I like to hike Whiting Ranch, Morro Canyon, Oneil Park, and Peter's Canyon. I've also hiked up to Holy Jim Falls and all the way up Santiago Peek.:)
This also sounds quite interesting, I may just have to check it out! Back when I was living in SF we had a lot of groups like this but they tended to be more geared towards singles, which I do not like. I will definitely check this out, thank you :]0 -
Hi Everyone!
I live in Santa Ana by South Coast Plaza. My challenge is that I work in Paramount (leave early & get home late) I've been walking with my hubby & daughter and doing home workouts. I am thinking of joining a Team in Training group to further motivate me- just not sure how to fit it all in0 -

I am 47 and live in Seal Beach. I am trying this again and have at least 80 pounds to loose  . My 30th class reunion is October 2012.
:flowerforyou:
Lucky, we love seal beach. We like orange too though!
I do feel lucky, been walking on the beach these warm winter evenings.

Hello!
Glad to see another O.C. member on board! Our list is small, but growing. Yep, balancing the time issue is a tough one, but it sounds as if you are very determined, so you will find a way I'm sure :-) Feel free to drop me a line on here or add me as a friend if you need any help!

I live in eastside Costa Mesa... walking distance from Triangle Square. 40 yr. female, member of 24 hour fitness, bicycle Newport Back Bay on the weekends and just started 30day shred with friend from work… in pursuit of GOOD HEALTH...I started a new diet on New Years. With a goal of getting back into my skinny jeans, I'm well on my way and 30 more lbs to go! WOO HOO! I contribute my success with the tools MFP provides. Also, two of my coworkers are doing it with me. It's been great!
I would like to further build up a good support group here on MFP…. It’s great to see fellow OC peeps.

Hello- I'm a newbie here... I also live in Anaheim, near State College/Lincoln. I've joined gyms on and off over the years, but decided to do the home gym thing this time...so far, so good. In addition to finding some balance in healthy eating and exercise, I'm also trying to wrangle the nicotine monster...working out helps. I like this app so far.0

I'm in Orange near where the 22 Fwy and the 55 Fwy meet. No gyms yet - but I walk at lunch most days at work in Newport Beach. My husband and I have hiked Santiago Oaks before and we love it. We also love hiking in Corona at the beach - beautiful! Good luck to everyone!!!0

I don't go there myself but the fitness 19 on tustin and chapman is only 10 dollars a month - way cheaper than 24 hour fitness although 24 hour fitness has classes and you can go to multiple locations. but still, Fitness 19 might be a good way to test it out and see if you like it. Can't recall what their strength equipment looked like - I think it was kind of limited but they had a crapton of cardio machines.0 -
Hi! New here. I live in Irvine (Quail Hill area). Feel free to add me anyone!0

Hello everyone. I've toyed around on this website a few times and it seems I've been sticking to it fairly well this third time. I don't know anyone that uses it and thought it might be more motivating to have some one or people to be some what accountable too. I live in Laguna beach, about 4 blocks from downtown/main beach area. I don't currently have a membership to a gym. In my previous life (ha ha) I did triathlons, but when I got divorced by my world got pretty upside down and that stopped. I'm currently running and trying to make healthy choices when it comes to food. How is everyone?0

Hi Everyone! I hope a lot of you are still here despite your intro posts being months ago. If you are, please send me a friend request!
I'm Anna, and I currently work and live in Irvine right by the airport (right on Jamboree and Michelson, to be a little more exact). I don't belong to any gyms because my apartment complex has a ridiculous amount of fitness-related amenities, but if I could afford one, there are tons of gyms right around here.
Even though I spend a lot of time right here in my tiny bubble around the airport, I do go out to Huntington Beach from time to time to help my boyfriend who works at Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop (Beach and Warner), and I'm also out in Mission Viejo once a week to play soccer.0 -

I live in Irvine and work in Rancho Santa Margarita. I love to run but have been out of the loop and started gaining what I lost. I recently lost 124 but now I can only claim to have lost 80 since I have gained some back from over the summer. Looking for some friends and gym suggestions. I moved out here from Colorado where I was really active and since I have moved here have been nothing but a loaf. Anyone around me is welcome to add me, would love a workout buddy with a flexible schedule since mine is so flip floppy.0

Not sure if anyone is still really using this group...
I currently live in Garden Grove right off of the 405/22 interchange. I typically workout at the 24 Hour Fitness in Cypress (on Katella), but sometimes in Orange if I go with a friend that lives out there. I should really do more cardio, but I mostly tend to lift when I'm there and usually go 3-4 days a week if anyone is interested.0 -
It seems to be a slow board, but I wanted to add in case anyone is still checking. I am in Irvine. I go to 24 hour fitness (walking distance from me!) and try to use my area for walking/jogging. If anyone is in the area I would be happy to add a workout buddy every once in a while0
