September 29th: Rugged Maniac, Southwick, MA

Run For Your Lives was AWESOME!! If money is an issue, you can volunteer as a zombie for $25, then run in a later heat for free. I was so impressed by the professional makeup artists they used to zombify everyone. Such a blast. I'd do it again if they were going to be in my area.0 -

I'm giving serious consideration to the Beast as well! I've just got a half marathon in there, as well as some horse shows, so I don't know if I can make it work. Gotta balance kids and work in there too 0 -

Just to point out I JUST read a blog post from a friend of mine who'd signed up as a zombie. She said both she and her man were so tired from hours of chasing people they were too exhausted to run the race.
I know I wouldn't want to because when the zombies run the race later..well there aren't any zombies now are there?0 -

I didn't realize I could. I signed myself up as a runner, and my son as a zombie, thinking that he'd be a zombie during my heat. When race day came, he was scheduled for a three hour stint as a zombie, then a two hour break, and then we both had our run heat, at the same time.0 -

I like to run these races late morning (10a or so) because it's cooler out and the course isn't as messed up.0 -

There was just a Death Race in VT, which isn't far from me. I wanted to go volunteer, but didn't make it up. Huge respect for anyone who even signs, up, let alone completes!0

I think they only do the death race once a year. It's the one you have to qualify for.0 -
