Welcome RN's! Introduce yourselves!
Hello Fellow RN's! I'm Ice, I've been an RN for nearly 30 years. I'm currently doing the 17 Day Diet, but I support anyone who is working towards living a cleaner, healthier lifestyle! Looking for new mfp friends
Hi all, I’ve been an RN in NZ for last 9 years I am looking for some new mfp friends to encourage, motivate and support. Last time I seriously used mfp I found having people comment etc motivated me! Impatient Dieter
Hello everyone My name is Emma. I used to be a A&e nurse till 6 months ago where I have started a trainee nurse Practitioner role. Over lock down I have put on over 2 stone, I was already over weight. I have been stress eating using food to deal with Covid and family bereavement (I’m now making excuses for the amount of…
Need Help From Fellow RN's on Noc shift!!! :)
Hello all!!! My name is Becky and I've been working night shift (mostly under duress :) ) for almost 3 years. In that time I have put on about 30 pounds. I'm the heaviest I've been in my life and it's not fun to see a reflection of myself. I've been making excuses for a long time as to why I've been gaining weight. Mainly…
Any public health nurses out there?
I'm curious if there are any public health nurses on this board, and what they think of their job? I've very interested in the field but wanted to get some 1st hand knowledge. And to make this health related. I can't help but to think that a 9-5 job would make eating appropriately that much more easier!
Your Favorite Weight Loss Tip
Hello my Nurse Friends! I hope we get more and more Nurses on the Intro Yourself thread in our group, but I wanted to get some other discussions going as well. Let's all share our FAVORITE tip for weight loss! It can be anything from how you resist the food that's brought to work (nurses are notorious pot-luckers!), or how…
Hate it
Anybody hate nursing?
I love being a nurse!
For those who say they are hating their nursing experience so far... maybe hearing from some of us who are having fulfilling careers in nursing will help inspire to seek out positions that will be more satisfying. I can't imagine feeling trapped in a job I don't enjoy, let alone hate. So.. folks... tell us about your…
Eating Healthy Working 12 Hour Shifts
Hello Fellow RNs, I was wondering what your meals look like on the days you work. It's not always an option to have a set meal time when working on the unit. I tend to do well about breakfast and lunch options. But when I get home for dinner, it's usually after 8 pm. I generally am in bed between 9:30 PM and 10 PM. I'm so…
Side Effects of eating healthy
Anyone have any suggestions for dealing with the GI side effects (upset stomach, gas, bloating)that come with increasing intake of fruits, veggies and fiber? I'm not interested in meds, hoping for a more natural solution.
