Congrats. You seem to be at a similar point to me! 262lb to 185lb over the last couple of years, I decided to take it really slowly. You'll find MFP helps you loads

I found out my boyfriend had been cheating on me. I decided to show him what he is missing out on. 77lb later and I have new motivators and things keeping me going. But I can definitely say that I succeeded in my goal of showing him what he has missed out on.

That's incredible. I might try and give something like that a go!

In gym classes I can now do high knee sprints. It was always too painful before with the amount of bounce that my girls and stomach provided! The first time I realised I could do it I think I was in mild shock :open_mouth:

That's some good work, well done one your loss so far. It takes longer than you think for your habits to cement

I got in the pool today and did 16 laps (after 2 hours of gym classes before hand). It was the first time I've swam publicly since I was a young teenager. I was completely exhausted from it but now I've faced that fear, I'm ready to go again.

This is sounding like such a positive thread. How are you going at the moment?

I had a woman at the gym come and congratulate me on my weight loss of 5 stone. Followed by 'You used to be so big'. I know that she was being nice in her own way but ouch! It didn't help that she then grabbed the guy that I 'like' and proceeded to ask him what he thought of my weight loss and how well I've done and don't…

It's taken me over a year to work this out. For the few days leading up to day one I have a lot of energy, want to eat tonnes, have mood swings and suffer from head rushes. I've learned in this run up to do cardio things like running and zumba, but avoid weight lifting and calisthenics because they leave me really dizzy.…

I have different responses to how I deal: If I know ahead of time I have big work loads I stock up my freezer with healthy meals I've made in advance so I can just stick them in the microwave or oven and eat. I normally have 2 or 3 portions for 'emergencies' anyway. My cupboards also have lots of cans of soups as these are…

I'm 29 and only started getting saggy skin at the loss of 60lb and after losing 77lb so far it's only noticeable to me really. Youth is definitely in your favour and making sure you moisturise and pamper your skin will make you feel better whether it happens or not. I would be surprised if 70lb weight loss will lead to…

Some people are very clumsy in their acknowledgement of your success. They also often don't understand that what you are doing is healthy. I would just ignore it and smile. I have a friend who is similar, she always greets me with 'wow you look so skinny' which makes me uncomfortable. I just go along with it and thank her…

I returned to a spin class last night after a year of doing different classes instead. I was amazed to find that I wasn't at all in discomfort and I managed the whole class at the levels set by the instructor. This is despite him notoriously being the toughest spin instructor at the gym!

My friend circles have definitely changed but in different ways. I also have a group of friends who are food focused and mostly overweight. Luckily our 'girls night in's are flexible enough that I can either bring my own healthy snacks, or we get takeaways that I have found healthy options in. I don't see them often enough…

Haha I learned that the hard way when I sneezed lying down, my abs contracted and my knee shot to my nose!

I've tried to come up with ways of phrasing and understanding why I believe overweight/obese people are treated differently. Then I realised we are treated differently after we lose weight because we ARE different Things that haven't changed as I have lost weight > My intelligence > My sense of humour > How caring I am >…

Fantastic job

The great thing about this site is there are always people to support you, and forum threads to browse to keep you motivated. I've lost 77lb with another 23lb to go and I'm a big fan of keeping it simple. Increase in activity levels and decrease in calories. I try and do food prep, my fridge and freezer have a couple of…

I jogged up three flights of stairs to my flat and wasn't out of breath, my friend was still a flight of stairs behind me and panting at the top! Going up and down those stairs 2 -3 times a day is starting to pay off!

I have PCOS and started at 260lb and now down to 185lb. I did it by going down to 1500-2000 calories a day, having protein rich breakfasts and dinners, saving my carbs for lunch. I do light exercise most days for 30-60min, either walking or cycling on a stationary bike. Then a couple of days a week I'll do running or a…

My success is linked to weight loss. Before my weight loss I was diagnosed with PCOS and was put on a pill to control it. That pill really disagreed with me, made me put on a stone and have horrendous periods. I came back off of it and my periods stopped for nearly a year as my weight continued to climb. Now I have managed…

I never knew how easy it would be to pick up my fitness levels after a couple of months of not really working out. The fitness, stamina and strength I've been working on for two years don't just disappear overnight. This realisation hopefully means I won't give up when I have a short set back

I had some very exciting news today. One of the gym instructors has nominated me as gym member of the month. I always read the notice board with the story of the winner of the month so I'm so pleased that she thinks my journey is up there with theirs. What's more, winning my local gym's member of the month means I'm put…

That's the best response I've seen!

Challenge completed! This year I have cycled, run, walked, rowed and generally shimmied my way across a distance of 10,000km. Last year I managed 3,700km or so in 6 months so I have completely smashed my record. The biggest day was doing 263km on the stationary bike in a row! This I have managed despite illness, moving…

Who would of guessed that when I'm feeling lazy and taking a day off from my fitness challenge that I set myself it's because it's just too easy and that I know I can catch up the next day!

That's both sweet and makes me laugh thinking he's only ever going to cook you hamburgers from now on!

I ran/ walked 10k for the first time and I did it in my target time I'd 90 min. Wooo

My pilates instructor who I have been working with for 2 years since I started this weight loss (77lb nearly) turned to me and said 'have you lost weight'. She then said she had noticed all along but it just hit her that day for some reason. It made me laugh that it's taken two years to hit! But she does see me really…

That sometimes when someone yells across the gym 'oh my god you've lost so much weight, well done' you don't want to hide in embarrassment, you just want to smile, thank your friend and catch up on the year since you last saw each other with no more fuss
