with mayo I put the jar on the scale and switch my scale on. The scale shows 0. When I take some mayo from the jar the scale shows - 20g for example. So I had 20 g of mayo

Same here. My calculation says between 88g minimum and 145g max. Maybe I need more because I walk a lot at work. Some days 10 miles and go for a run as well multiple times a week. Maybe I just need more protein or carbs

When I am hungry I make me a buttered coffee. It works for me. 35 g of butter and a mug of coffee in the blender.

Great. Thanks for posting it. I mainly do keto for health reasons because I don't have much weight to lose.

It's the same for me. I don't neet to lose a lot of weight anymore but the energy I have is great and my hunger seems to have normalised.

I used to use a lot of sugar and sweeteners in my coffe. I thought I was addicted to coffee. Now I drink my coffee without any sugar or sweeteners. I took a bit to get used to it. I drink much less coffee now and the sweet cravings have gone as well

A replacement for fries. Deep fried cauliflower or broccoli. I use beef dropping (beef fat) for frying

Obesity may affect thyroid function. At least that what I have read about it. A thyroid dysfunction can affect vitamin B12 absorption and a deficiency in B12 can cause hair loss. It's just an idea of mine but it could explain it.

Diet war is on. I found an interesting presentation on youtube. The guy who did it is vegan but admits that his studies show that a low carb diet is best for most people. Even when it comes to health improvement. But some people drive good on a vegan diet. It has to do with the insulin sensitivity. About 2/3 are better off…

I just use butter. ;) Buttered coffee is great especially before I go to the gym or for a run. I use 35g butter and a mug of coffee with a pinch of salt and mix it in a blender. It's just lovely

great job. I do not count my days on keto but think it could be a thing for life. I would be interested whether you think it might be something to consider.

set it 5% for carbs, 15% for protein and 80% for fat. If you want to lose body fat just keep your fat intake a bit lower

Do you put flavours in your coffee? :o

I eat lCHF as well but don't really care. If something fits in my macros I'll eat it. Some foods give me cravings and I avoid those but somebody else might just do well with it. Some folks tend to forget that nature doesn't care whether we are healthy and get old or we die of cancer with 50. Nature just cares that we get…

I had a binge eating problem. I haven't had a real binge for ages although some days I eat over maintenance and some days below. After a long battle I figured out what caused my binging. For me it's too many carbs and sugar. When I cut those it became better. The next thing was artificial sweeteners. The result was instant…

I had to change my lifestyle instead of "being on a diet". I once lost a lot of weight just to end up where I started. Now I have changed my lifestyle. As long we miss the "old days" of cookies, beer, cakes and being a couch potato we are doomed to fail in the long run. I can speak out of my own experience. My diet is my…

If you are interested in ketogenic diet and performance and the science behind it I have posted a link hier.

Thant means your body is using fat as fuel. Over the next 3 to 6 weeks you may have lower readings because your muscle will start to use ketones as fuel and in the end your brain will also be adapted to use ketones. This is a good thing because that has a glycogen sparing effect and you will need less protein. The readings…

I don't use keto sticks. Keto sticks only measure the ketones in your urine but not the ketone level in your blood. If you just started a ketogenic diet your body will get rid of excess ketones. If one is adapted to using ketones as fuel there may be no reading using keto sticks at all. The blood ketone level will rise…

Posting in this group I assume you want to do heavy lifting on keto. I do more running and some kettlebell exercise and sometimes some weight training. I don't know how long you have been doing keto but for me it hasn't been a problem after the adaptation what took me only 3 weeks because I have an active job and do…

Thanks for your replies. I just found an interesting article on diet-doctor. I have read that artificial sweeteners do not increase insulin but nobody has done any research whether they do reduce blood ketones. The guy did a n1 experiment. Although it's not a real research it could explain it. According to his…

I do 5c/15p/80f because it's what I do and I am not saying you should do it. But do not bother about your protein too much. Too much protein can have negative health effects. 50 to 60g is enough for most people and up to 300g a day has been considered as safe for most people. The other macros are up to you.

For me low-carb is a lifestyle. I do a ketogenic diet 98% of the time. If you are interested in the science behind it I suggest you google Dr Peter Atta. I eat less than 50g of carbs a day, My protein intake is moderate at 60 to 90g a day and the rest is fat. That is about 5% carbs, 15% protein and 80% fat. It's not a diet…

it seems funny and I don't know why but I have too eat more calories to maintain my weight as when I was on a hclf diet.
