For full effectiveness of the Synthroid, take it two hours or more after a meal and wait half an hour before the next meal. It helps to take it first thing in the morning.

I'm so glad I don't like soda and chips! But my sweet tooth is what gets me.

Chips are fried, high in sodium, and unnecessary. Dip vegetables into your dip/hummus instead. That's what I do.

Incorporate cocoa powder, especially in yogurt. If you must eat a chocolate block, eat 70% dark chocolate. Ghiradelli chocolate squares are the perfect portion size.

Note the diameter of your fruit, too, and also how it's prepared. 1 cup of strawberry halves is different from 1 cup of pureed strawberries

I use mashed up raspberries as a spread on my toast instead of jam.

I would consider 27g of carbs a day to be "low carb".

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! It helps "break the fast" of sleeping for hours and hours. I find an overall improvement in my mood when I eat breakfast. That in my opinion is a more important reason to eat it than any "boost in metabolism".

Working out is the way to go. I joined a spin class and I go twice a week. Just 45 minutes makes all the difference! Then I feel like I can eat whatever I want. As for the days I don't work out, it's a little harder, but if I know I'm eating at a restaurant that night, I eat light the rest of the day to prepare. Good luck!…

I cook with olive oil instead of butter because unsaturated fats are better than saturated fats. However, between butter and margarine, I would choose butter because it's less processed.

I would recommend getting another healthy snack in there. I heard that eating about every three hours boosts metabolism. So, I eat about two healthy snacks a day (mid-morning and mid-afternoon), and it works great for me.
