At age 47, I am recommitting to my health for a multitude of reasons-the most important being my new career is physically demanding and I want to be able to succeed for a long time. I am just curious if you have any advice for those days when things don't seem to be moving in the right direction and I feel like it may…

Thank you so much for this post!! I was getting so frustrated feeling like it just wasn't ever gonna happen. I have been between 200.8 and 203 for 3 weeks. My original goal was 200 by September 30th, and each passing day makes me feel like a loser, and not the good kind. I did a small assesment of my diary and found out I…

You've got the right attitude and everyone here is going to support you!! Keep up the good work, YOU CAN DO THIS!!

This was the success story I needed to see this morning! I started my weight loss journey at 230+ and MFP at 213. My goal is about 165 and seeing your progress was just the motivation I needed for the week. Thank you for sharing and congratulations-you look AMAZING!

I am sure lots of people don't log and are successful. I, on the other hand, have finally learned that is what I NEED to do to accomplish my goals. I faithfully use the diary and a HRM so I always know calories in and calories out as well as what I need to do if I want to splurge. I hope you find what works for you-good…

Wow!! Fantastic work! Your commitment is an inspiration.
-
Absolutely!! My HRM has been a godsend!!! I only use that count, never go by MFP because of the discrepancy in numbers.
-
I completely agree!! I lost 41 lbs over a year ago and seriously fell off the wagon. Last month I found MFP and have been really trying lots of different things. I am switching between weight training, cardio machines, jillian michaels and Zumba. Also, I had to actually up my calories from 1200 to 1580 and it is making a…

My official weigh in is once a week, but I am still addicted to stepping on the scale alot more frequently than that. It can be discouraging with the "fluctuations" and I am trying hard to break the habit, but it is difficult.

I was about 3 weeks into MFP when my sister and brother in law took us out for my husband's bday at my favorite mexican restaurant. I knew what I wanted and didn't want to skimp on anything. My plan-I went to the gym and burned 1000 calories in order to feel safe for the night. The only change I made was eating the fajitas…

You are already a success, just by starting AND asking for support! It is a long road, but the journey will teach you so much about yourself and what you are capable of. Everyone has already said it, but one day at a time, slow and steady and most of all---Love yourself and thank yourself for making the best healthy…

THANK YOU ALL!! A lot of great information and links too. I think I am relatively sure I am right where I need to be. I really appreciate how everyone is so willing to help and look forward to more helpful advice on my journey!

Personally, I would love to see your journal-as I am new to MFB by 6 days and have approximately 50 lbs to lose. That being said, it is your decision to do what you feel comfortable with. If people look at it and judge, they are obviously here for the wrong reason and their opinions/comments don't matter. Congratulations…
