I do one to two days per week of higher carb, usually with one actual cheat meal of whatever I want. I have been losing consistently, so it's working for me, and the flexibility makes it much easier to stick with this way of eating.

I use UCAN, which is supposed to give you long lasting fuel without the insulin spike. Also, I use Larabars, they have dates (so natural sugar) but it's way better than any of those chemical Gus!

I have had kidney stones three times, once when pregnant and never when eating low-carb. Some people are prone to them, my doctor fully supports my way of life, but I am not really "keto", more low carb with a focus on veggies, protein and healthy fats.

Thanks everyone! I plan to keep eating a lot of veggies, so I will see how counting net works for me. I don't eat any sugar alcohols, or artificial sweeteners at all, so I don't have to worry about those.
