Down with a bad back this week so no progress. I plan to do W4D1 Saturday.

W4D1 last night. Walking 3mph, Jogging 5 mph in the 3 min sections and 4.5mph in the 5 minute sections. I was a little intimidated to try the 5 minute sections at 5mph - I probably could have done it but chickened out.

W3D3 done. Did an extra 90 seconds before the cool down. Made it solely because Rocky's Eye of the Tiger came on when I was about done in. \0/

My family was teasing me about my triceps which have always been batwings. I flexed and said not for long! You could actually see my bicep muscle and the tricep is less flappy.

W3D2 on Friday - ran outside (first time) so not sure on speed. Went 1.77 miles in 28 minutes. Felt slower than on the treadmill. BUT DONE!

Yesterday I ventured to the free weights section which is intimidating in itself. I was using the squat rack but in my 90 second recovery between sets. A guy asked if I was using it. Hi All, I just turned 50 this summer. I lost about 30 pounds 2 years ago but gained it all back plus 30 more. I've been back on MFP for 6 weeks and am down 15 pounds. I am doing couch to 5k (week 3) and water aerobics (harder than I thought) with some weight lifting thrown in.

So sick this past 10 days that I haven't done much of anything. Finally on the upswing so planning a very slow 2-3 miles to get back in the groove.

You can still lose weight eating what you have always eaten. Just eat less. Do you have space and time to garden? Seeds are pretty inexpensive and yield lots of produce. Think about what "junk food" you may buy and cut back there to add in more fresh fruit and veggies. Look into some meatless meals. Meat tends to be the…

@PaytraB I found that if I go for a run my pace is always the same 13 min miles. I recently tried using music with a steady beats per minute. My pace improved to 11 minute miles right away. You may only need to use this for a few runs to get into a new pace. Good luck!

Lady at Dick's sporting goods stopped me and asked some "I'm new to fitness" questions about sports bras. And I had some great answers for her and didn't feel like a fraud but someone who totally knew what she should do!

Get in there! You are in the wrong gym if you aren't getting help and respect from other lifters. No matter what your size, age, or sex. Edit to clarify that you aren't the one in the wrong but those in that gym are. So find a better gym.

Did a quick 2 miles in the dark with a flashlight last night. Not very safe but I ran against traffic on a pretty lightly traveled road. I was also afraid of tripping. Probably won't try that again. Good news is that by putting in some long slow runs, my short distance time is much better!
