Not sure how I got there.. but I am taking my goal(s) a step at a time, literally, but have about another 5stone to loose on top of the five already gone. I don't feel like an old man yet and want to try and get and stay fit into my older years and also do some scuba…

Biggest motivation is to get to a healthy weight, which I have never been pretty much all my life. Also to look normal so feel better about things but primary its about health for me rather than looks..

I weight in on a Sunday morning early and only once a week now as started doing everyday but got disheartened. Then I got some techno scales and can now see progress on my phone which is a driving force for my weight loss whether it be up or down..

Thats how I started, got off one stop early and then that built up to 5miles quite quickly and in Summer did both ways. When I first started walked really slowly as didn't want to sweat but then as got more into it was going around 4mph..

I saw myself in some photos at a parents wedding anniversary and didn't recognise myself, kind of.. I knew I had been putting weight on but I just didn't care. It was that moment that I got on the scales and saw I was 285lbs and decided to do something about it and get my life back. I'm now 210 but still have a long way to…

I chose walking as I didn't want to go to gyms etc and was very body conscious but I did think that I would incorporate little things that added up over the week like walking to toilets on other floors at…

Thanks for your encouragement and app advice, and I am in very similar position just a bit older, but I am starting from scratch and take strength from your post. At the moment I am perfectly happy to give this a go on my own as there is no one in a similar position and I am definitely not ready to go out with a club…

Many thanks for all the answers and support! I don't know why I have been worried giving it a go guess thought being this weight would foobar the knees and ankles, but shall take on board the advice to start carefully and not over do it. I am going to look into some running shoes. Where I would run is a grassland mostly…

Hi, just joined MFP and have a bike thats been sitting in a shed for the past 10 or more years. I have had it checked over and brought a new tyre  but am trying to work out how I am going to start using it as where I lived before was flat as a pancake and now I am living in the opposite. Think TdF land. I have…
