Similar boat to you. Age 38. Weight: 58KG. Height: 5,7. BMR 1460. TDEE Varies. averages out around 2300-2400. Exercise: Not as much as OP around 7000 steps daily and run 5-7 days a week. Have found recently been leaving eating till later on and enjoying a binge; i know this is not great and have been making attempts to…

A full week??? Not since before I started using MFP:) Have been running an average of 4-5 days a week and strength training in between. I worry if I were to have a week off all together all the old habits would resume....

Wouldn't it be easier just to dial in my weight at 65 and set to maintain rather than eating more to gain, Enjoying it, (maybe a bit much) and then having to reign it it when hit desired weight?
-
Thank you run, I would assume however setting MFP to gain would mean a larger increase for me to reduce again at maintenance??

Yeah Night shift nurse here. Hard to motivate but I would usually go out a run post shift in the morning. The hardest part really is getting out the door, the rest quickly gets easier and always feel energised after it and happy that I'd done it. It's best to tray and visualise how you'll feel after it as a means to…

My God, I just came on to write my own post very similar to this. I have been really struggling with this recently, "why can't I just be fat and happy"?? It's not the nicest or likely accurate assumption, but I know exactly how you feel; I often look towards heavier people and wonder what it'd be like to have the freedom…

Many thanks. I'll have to bite the bullet and splash out on a new pair I think.
-
That maybe it actually. I'm over 500 miles. Kinda thought I'd be able to squeeze another couple hundred out em. :/ They really don't look massively worn though.
-
Yeah defo, if anything I've been eating more of my exercise calories and a bit of stress.
-
That's one for a T-shirt. Love that; great words!!!!
-
Yep defo not running two hours daily lol:) the middle ground is what I'm aiming for...

I like the idea of not having particular excercise goals more of a lifestyle and being content where you are;)
-
Yeah I can relate to that. My calorie burns for a short run of around 4 miles is fairly low anyway, so it only gives me a wee bit of wriggle room, but the flexibility I appreciate and if I know I'm going to be eating more, such on days off from work or social occasions I tend to see my longer runs as both enjoyable for…

All great replies. I kinda thought there would be more of a debate about it; but the majority of folks that have replied feel it's okay as long as not going overboard. Many thanks to all that have taken the time to reply.

Thanks for replies so far. It seems that it's probs quite an unhealthy attitude but one I believe a number of folks ascribe to. I wonder if anyone would openly admit to excercise solely to eat more and if so, how they frame in their minds. I spose it can be argued that it's much healthier to excercise to eat than not…

Every night for me, wee bit of chocolate a Crumpet and some crisps (Chips) diary is open, feel free to have a look. I had done this all through my weight loss and it really helped keep me sane.

Im still kinda stuck with the notion that whilst losing I never ate back excercise calories. Now that I'm maintaining and excercising more I still get scared to eat more as logic would assume that I'd gain, as I am still maintaing my weight whilst excercising more. Anyone have any idea why this may be? I still log as…

This is interesting, sorry I've no insight into maybe why, but it seems positive nontheless. Maybe you were more active on your vacation or maybe your maint is a little higher and your bodyweight had somehow plateaud at your existing maint calories and had refused to lose anymore before u went on vacation. I'm maybe on a…
