I had a few not-great eating days, and that little number on the scale was way up. Although I know there are a number of factors there, it was discouraging. But today I did what I needed to and reminded myself that I can do this!

I know what you mean - that was my feeling too, when I first started running. My neighbourhood is pretty safe, though, so I was able to go out late at night when there weren't so many people out, and that definitely helped to get my confidence up. I still run at night - it's practical for a lot of reasons - but I'm at the…

Thank goodness! I really need the extra accountability right about now! XD

Well, the past couple of days have been rough. My self control was totally lacking, and I ate a number of things that I really shouldn't have. I've tried to adjust my calorie plan for the next week to make up for it, but it's going to have to be pretty strict if I'm going to feel better about the bad decision I made…

I often have the same problem - I appreciate that they're thinking of me, and when I'm in maintenance, candy will be a huge boon... but right now, it's hard to work into my deficit in a satisfying way! Things that I have done: - brought candy to class/work to share with people - divide up the care package and sent mini…

Looking forward to the invitation! Nothing like a bit of healthy competition. Pun not intended!

My favourite Pokémon, plus, when it's shiny, my favourite colour! I may be an adult, but not gonna lie, nothing like a good old trek around the Pokémon world to forget about the stresses of school and paying rent! Now, if only all of that in-game walking could burn real-world calories, ahaha. ;)

Hahah, thanks! I went through a series of different options, but none of them were fitting well into the MFP thumbnail. So Lapras it is! ;)

I would be super into this if you still have room!

Hey there, Ezinne! I'm not the final authority on these things, but this group is a challenge and a support system toward helping us achieve our fitness goals! Starting on April 6th, we will input weekly weigh-ins on the Google doc to help track our progress and keep ourselves accountable. Between weigh-ins, we have this…

I second the link to BudgetBytes - it's a great website - not only is the food delicious, but it imparts some good tips on budget eating. poorgirleatswell.com also has some good recipes.

Resisting the Easter chocolate temptations, and I'm feeling really good about it. There will be time for that when it fits better into my goals, but for now I want to focus on eating food that I love AND that makes me feel good!

Today, I ate well over my calorie goal... but I feel OK about it! Tomorrow, I start a new phase of calorie deficit so I know that I'll make up for it. Moreover, I feel good about feeling OK, because part of the journey is improving my relationship with food, and there have been too many times when I let eating wreck my…

Signed up for some DietBets last night/this morning. It's not something I would usually do, but my inhibitions were somewhat diminished thanks to an essay-writing allnighter. I'm excited about it, though. I'm doing a few short term challenges that will get me to graduation, and a longer one that will get me to my goal…

Hey all! Checking in! Yesterday was difficult, but I am looking forward to making today better!

I'm not in charge, but it doesn't look like it's too late by any stretch! :)

Thanks! Happy to be here! - - - - - - Today was a challenging day, food-wise and life-wise, but despite some unauthorized snacking, I think I've come out of it unscathed. Just hoping that it won't skew my check-in too much! I definitely experienced the increased water-weight when I first added more exercise to my routine.…

Sounds good! I'm trying to join a few challenges to come back from what has been a few weeks of poor food decisions! :P

Adding half a cup of rolled oats can make a smoothie extra thick and delicious. Also, a scoop of chia seeds or a quarter cup of almonds (or some nut butter) can go a long way! My go to: 1 cup almond milk (vanilla, if I'm wanting something sweet) 1 chopped frozen banana 1/2 cup rolled oats 1 tbsp cocoa powder And then I can…

1. My name is Megann. I'm 22 years old, single, and childless, which works great for me! I live between Halifax, Nova Scotia, London, Ontario, and soon, Madison Wisconsin! 2. CW: 147. I started manually logging food in a notebook early in the fall, but thankfully discovered a better way... in November, maybe? Tomorrow…

I'd love to get in! The spreadsheet would be much appreciated. :)

Definitely interested in hearing some details! :)

I'd love to join! I need an extra push for the last 20 lbs! :)

Also a student who is starting to get into cooking. For a while, I had great success buying all of my regular less-healthy food and focusing on eating less, but I've recently become interested in preparing healthier food. It helps to have a clear idea of what you'll be cooking that week and going in with a list. Keep an…

Lots of very affordable and tasty recipes on this blog: http://www.poorgirleatswell.com/ They're usually fairly beginner friendly, as well! (I say this as a culinary n00b who has had great success with her stuff! :)) I also like browsing this collection: budgetbytes.com

Hey all - I've been quietly lurking on MFP for months, and have been very successful in my weight loss goals so far! But I'm finding myself in need of a push for those last 20-or-so pounds, and I'm hoping that finally posting on the boards and participating in this challenge will help to motivate me toward that end!
