  • Got off track for last little while but I forced myself to log everything anyway. My goal was to stick with less than 100g carbs and within 100 cals of mfp recommendation. Went over cals and carbs but because I forced myself to log, Was enlightening to see that often I beat myself up over something I ate and discovered by…
  • Checking in. Saturday I was over carbs but I made some good choices in terms of picking and choosing which things I’d like to indulge in as opposed to my usual eat-all-the-things. I also planned beforehand to prep a plate of fresh veggies for my munchiest time of day so that was a win. Sunday was awesome in terms of carbs…
  • Late to the party here but my goal for this month is literally just logging all food and staying under 100g carbs. Need to keep it uber-simple while I get back into this dieting thing. Haven’t been careful for the longest time and really regretting it obv.
  • Highly recommend Becks Diet Solution!
  • Totally dropped the ball last week, but back on track today. Have my day all prelogged
  • Checking in - last week got about 5/7 days of pre planning and following my plan. The others involved my bday and a visit to grandma 😋
  • So far going well - planning ahead and sticking to plan. My bday is this week. thinking of planning one higher carb treat. Shld be easier not to slip up if I plan it. This way I have it, enjoy it, and move on instead of feeling out of control and spiraling
  • I dropped out of the dec challenge bec life got too hectic. I actually deleted the mfp app from my phone in an effort to simplify my life and cut down on noise. I’m back now, ready to try again. My goal for this month is to plan my food each night and not eat something the next day if it hasn’t been planned. Did great…
  • I've been insanely busy at work since thursday and through the weekend :( I had one goal for my determined december - just to log, no food limits or weight goals whatsoever because those were getting too stressful to stay on top of..and I dropped even the logging because I got so busy. I'm getting so discouraged because…
  • Haven’t checked in recently, but so far on track with my goal - logging 6/7 days of the week. Just tracking without actively limiting anything has been quite enlightening and has so far helped me make better decisions overall
  • Anyone have any thoughts on Cronometer vs carb manager apps?
  • The good news is that I stuck to my goal and logged everything for Day 5. The bad news is that I tasted the mini cinnamon buns I was baking 😬 I’ve been baking them in small batches since Tuesday and resisting beautifully, but somehow last night I ended up choosing to taste them. Oh well, logged it as best as I cld and…
  • Day 4 was a win for me, logged all my food. Better get logging if I want to win today :)
  • Forgot to report yesterday. But score for Days 2&3! Love the accountability, totally helped me control myself at dinner tonight
  • @baconslave the mental struggle is real. Amazing how hard it is to rewire our brains from that all-or-nothing thinking that says “I had an off day I’m ruined forever” And yes baking yummy carby things for others and not tasting any of it takes a lot of self control. Especially when you’re like- “I have to! How can I give…
  • Would u believe I forgot yesterday was the 1st? My only goal this month is to log all my food which I did. So ✅ for Day 1
  • Thanks @baconslave for starting a challenge thread again! Excited about the motivation that accountability provides :) I am determined to log 6 out of 7 days of the week. I’m still figuring out my ideal carb level for breastfeeding. I though 100g was ok but I think I may need more like 150. Hoping to get all the way back…
  • Thought about it this evening...I think I’d like a Data December where I re-commit to logging all my food every day and possibly weigh in every day too. Maybe find some interesting patterns... That’ll fit under Determined December too obv, just thought I’d share in case anyone is looking for ideas
  • Determined December sounds good. Need some time to ‘determine’ my goal first  I had a baby last May and I’m still breastfeeding. Haven’t found the sweet spot in terms of carb level yet...
  • Various food or exercise related challenges. I think @FIT_Goat used to run them...?
  • Milk has some natural sugars, upping the carb count. Cream/butter is higher in fat and has almost no carbs. The higher fat content also ups the satiation factor.
  • Did anybody you guys experience cravings when you made the switch to only eggs/ground beef/carnivore?
  • Thanks @mmultanen you're probably right, I need to focus mainly on supply and energy levels right now. Im not specifically calorie restricting. Does it make sense that when I lower my carbs to even 80-100g I'm SO hungry? I feel like when I lower my carbs, even a little, I need to up my calories even more.
  • @Alliwan what was lowish carb for u? How many grams?
  • Thanks I’ll look into the supplement you mentioned

  • Anyone else want to share their strategies for this challenge? Are u not tracking anything at all? Only carbs? Logging? Not logging?
  • Thx, I guess I’ll try to get a second opinion from another endo. Been on metphormin for a good 4 years but didn’t rly make much of a difference beyond an initial 7 lb weight loss which I assume was water since it’s kind of diuretic. Didn’t last either :). I’ll probably stick with this woe for now and double check with the…
