I paid $449 for three years at 24Hr fitness and then $49 a year after that for access to all their gyms up to Sport level. I've had the membership for over 5 years now and usually go 5 days a week. I am not ever going to not pay them the $49 a year and lose this deal.

Try REI http://www.rei.com/product/881900/fitbit-surge-gps-watch-heart-rate-monitor?s_kwcid=sKrICcxNg_dc|pcrid|58432296005|pkw|fitbit%20surge|pmt|e|google|main&gclid=Cj0KEQiA8MSkBRCP5LaRlcOAusMBEiQAiqldkvBUVidia1hYijhmbBRxp67V51zg892JDD_ZI1wyOmAaAn2W8P8HAQ Before they were "pre-order" and when you checkout it was listed as…

Can the data Garmin Swim collects be linked to Myfitnesspal or other apps?
-
I agree, fitbit is way off right now. But it is more of a math problem and not a hardware problem. Like I reported already, from my 2 days of use anyway, the optical HR monitor is pretty much dead on with the bio-impedence HR monitor of the gym gear that cost several thousands of dollars. I am sure throughout the day, the…

What are you going to do different when your tracker says you burned 3000 calories for the day vrs a more accurate tracker that says you only burned 2900? And you're still making an assumption which one is more accurate. Honestly, right now all I see from Jawbone is vaporware.
-
People are saying bio-impedence is more accurate and I am sure technically it is. In practical use, especially for 24/7 "big picture" viewing, I don't think it matters. I don't own a chest strap, so can't compare to that, but when I do stairstepping, my hands are always on the bio-imedence handle bar/heart rate sensor of…

I did some stair stepping and running on a treadmill with it. It works very well for me. I don't know the in's and out's of it yet, just messing around, but the heart rate was maybe 2 beats behind the impedence heart rate monitor of the stair stepper and treadmill at my gym. It does lag for when your effort and heart rate…

They're just mods on a forum, not really expecting too much from them, but in fact he did post a limited amount was being shipped to retailers and they should have it by th 14th of Decemeber. What's on the shelves now, if there are any left may be all there will be till the full release. I like this a lot better than what…

Gonna guess the promise of a simple patch after release to get constant heartrate isn't really that simple. Every major player that does constant heartrate where you're not wearing a strap uses optical sensors. You think Microsoft, Intel, Fitbit, MIO, Sony and others didn't think about it or know of bio-impedence? Maybe…

Just got my Surge from USPS. It linked up easily to my PC and is now updating. Switched on my phone to link it, but it already did that automatically. Super easy and sizing on me looks good. Not big, not small. Probably going to go with the analog watch face. I'm sure you can google and find pictures and videos of the…

I have the Xbox one and do P90X on it when I deploy. Also have the Just Dance game as well, but haven't really tried it yet. I like the XBox Fitness, lots of choices there and the kinects keeps score on your effort. However, it's not really that much better than just running a DVD/video and I would not buy an XBox one just…

Went to Target and looked at the display for their Surge and Charge HR to see what I will be getting later today from USPS. Target in my area already has them out for sale. They had 6 Surges hanging on the rack and at least 10+ CHarge HR Was very tempted to just buy one and return my Amazon.com order when it arrives.
-
Charge HR has a smaller screen, Surge has a the bigger screen. Microsoft Band as a long rectangular screen, Basis Peak has a square screen. I think of the new ones coming out that are over $100, the Jawbone UP3 is the only one that does not have a screen. Pikaknight, I wasn't using any direct examples of people not paying…

A lot of the negative reports I read from people are more user fault than product. Like band size. They tell you exactly what the sizing is, people don't read and order what they think will fit, it doesn't fit, but somehow it's the products fault that their 5.5" to 6.3" size band does not fit the users 7" wrist. Or why…

Amazon already sold out on the Fitbit Surges they had, unless they get more. Wasn't expecting them to ship till Monday, but they already started shipping and I should have my Fitbit Surge by Monday. Pretty sure many retailers now have the new Fitbits in their distribution wharehouse.
-
Problem I have with the UP3 is there are no reviews on it for heart rate other than what it "should" be able to do. I've purchased stuff because of what it should be able to do or will be patched to before. Usually doesn't work out in my favor. Not to mention it is only releasing with app support for iPhones, with support…

If you go to fitbits site under HELP, there are tons of threads on it from people that just got it.

Sweet, appearntly some people contacted REI and according to them, they should have inventory of the Surge and Charge HR by Decemeber 14 (2014) and people who pre-order should expect delivery by December 22. I guess all the retailers are getting some inventory by the 14th, but REI was the only ones currently taking…

Just went to Target and they had display models of the Surge and Charge HR up and were taking pre-orders. Hopefully that means a full release is right around the corner. Other than for video games, I don't think Target (brick and mortar) takes pre-orders outside of two weeks before release. Can't believe people are…

Glad you like it. About having to manually tell the watch you're doing workouts other than walking/running, I think that's a good thing. Basis Peak claims to do that automatically, but all the reviews I read that mention it say it's done incorrectly and just screws everything up and they wish they could manually tell the…

I guess I didn't get in on it soon enough to be emailed the early release. However, I just noticed REI started taking pre-orders for the Surge. I think two days ago, that was not the case as I was searching for pre-orders and only Brookstone was doing that (which they have now stopped...guessing cause they got more…

brightsideofpink, I did not know that fitbit calculates your speed based on steps/min. I just started using a fitbit flex and was going in and manually entering that I ran at X time for X minutes. I didn't think it mattered, so just put down I did 3 miles in 45 minutes when I was actually doing 2 miles in 14 minutes and…

They just started emailing offers to people that signed up to be notified about the Fitbit Charge HR and Surge an offer to purchase a limited early release. I didn't sign up till mid November, so probably won't get in on the early release, but from the sounds of it, the Charge HR and the Surge will officially release in…

I was set to get the Fitbit Charge HR once released, but decided I'd get the Surge instead. I am sure the Charge HR will release in January, but not so sure about the Surge. It might be a long wait. I am still going to get the Surge unless the Peak really impresses me and the Surge gets bad reviews for actual use. Problem…

OK, I installed Bluestacks on my PC and was able to install the app for Basis Peak. I'll find out once I get my Peak if that will actually work, but looks promising as my phone won't install the app at all and I have no desire to upgrade my phone just so I can use the Basis Peak. Bluestack is an emulator to run android…

I ordered a Peak yesterday, should be here Monday. However I just figured out it does not work with my phone. I have a Motorola RAZR maxx, firmware jellybean 4.1.2. The peak works with pretty much everything apple dating back years, but only a few android phones officially. I can't even load the app. Well, guess I'll be…

From what I read, it's been their #1 request for a couple years now. I was wondering if you were able to link it to a different app or server database that myfitnesspal can link to and grab the info that way? Like Microsoft healthvault, considering Basis is now a part of Intel. Supposedly Fitbit's servers should share info…

Does myfitnesspal access the data from your Basis Peak?

It's between the MS Band and Fitbit Charge HR. I threw out the Jawbone Up3 because I'd like some kinda display. Although I like that it's small and unobtrousive. Not sure about their heartrate monitoring. It's different from all the rest and they are promising a firmware update to make it capable of showing on demand…

I was reading about the Basis Peak and MS Band. I think the Peak samples your heart rate 34 times a second and the Band samples it 1 time a second in workout mode. Not sure on this, but for the 24 hour sampling, I think the Band only samples your hr for 9 minutes out of an hour unless you force it or are in workout mode.…
