I had the same exact experience when i moved out of my parents' house! To make it worse i went vegetarian the unhealthy way. "This giant plate of mac and cheese is good for me because it has no meat and was made at home!". It took a 40 pound weight gain to realize my thinking was seriously flawed.

You look amazing! That is such a great look ..rock n roll vibe but still cute
-
Another huge doyogawithme fan! I only practice 1 - 2 x a week for relaxation purposes. The benefits are amazing

Sorry I'm not sure I understood this right, are you eating 1200 calories a day?
-
If you enjoy them so much, just eat them! Making foods you enjoy "off limits" makes you want them even more. If the portions are truly enormous, cut one in half, prepare it as you normally would and savor it! Log it and carry on with your day. Don't think of it as a defeat that you ate half a bagel, enjoy it!

That is a really great and empowering tool. You are responsible for your attitude, your effort, and your choices!

That is a really good idea! Also, there are lots of teas available now that are really tasty. Not in a Starbucks way, but you can still drink something tasty and have the comfort / habit but without the calories or spending the money. Celestial Seasonings and Yogi both make lots of different flavors. The Celestial…

I am not a doctor, but there is probably no potential for harm. The symptoms you were experiencing might even have just been effects of starting a workout regimen! (shortness of breath, racing heart, jitters). If you continue to work out you will probably find that it can help you manage your anxiety. Also- maybe you were…

Thanks for sharing the letter on corpulence! that was so interesting and entertaining

Also, I always thought it was funny my dad had a big sweet tooth and my mom was "take it or leave it" about sweets. I am take it or leave it about chips or greasy things..like I eat a measured serving and don't crave more. Meanwhile, if I eat a candy bar all I can think about is eating another :\
-
I'd never really thought of that perception but you are totally right! It does seem like women and girls are much more conditioned to think sweet treats are better. Personally, I think it can also just be a preference some people have. I definitely don't have a stigma against greasy foods or fatty meats but have had a…

From personal experience eating more and a variety of fat has been a very successful part in losing and maintaining my weight loss of 55 lbs. for four years. I am continuing to slowly lose & change my body composition by just staying active, making conscious "real food" choices, eating more vegetables, and avoiding added…

There is a book- Drop Two Sizes by Rachel Cosgrove that includes a meal plan for 12 weeks. It's pretty good. You may need to add, subtract, or change a little food depending on your goals but it was definitely a good and sustainable meal plan. - It has a shopping list that includes good pantry staples to have on hand, and…

Hi! I just sent you a request. Lifting is great! Are you following a specific program?
-
I'd like friends too!

No fitbit here, but I'd love to make some friends on this site! I just added both of you ladies

This is a good thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1 Using a TDEE calculator can help too. That calculates how much you are burning everyday. You can compare that to what you're actually eating (after logging) and make tweaks from there. Just…

A good place to start is to consistently track all of your food intake for a week. Measure and/or weigh everything. Don't focus on changing just yet. After a week look at how much you are really eating. Look at your lifestyle. If you are sedentary you need to eat less than if you are active. Active doesn't just mean…

@emma74 that sounds great! Also, a reasonably fit Crossfitter is like a super fit non-Crossfitter :p @vorgas definitely good things to remember. The whole reason I wanted others' input was was that I noticed I've been working harder and getting fitter BUT eating the way I'd been eating wasn't cutting it. (I was doing heavy…

Thanks for the input. 700-1000 calories!!! WOW! That's insane but I guess I can see it, especially if it's a burpee and box jump day.. I am tracking macros as well.

What everyone else said! Additionally, the New Rules of Lifting series are highly recommended. They have lifting programs and a lot of good information for beginner lifters. "The New Rules of Lifting for Life" is tailored for people who have things to work around. I've also heard good things about 5x5 mentioned above.

Coffee, HIIT forms of exercise, high protein + high fiber. I used both Dexatrim and Hydroxycut years and years ago. They worked in the short term but I had to keep upping the dose until I felt crazy. Would not recommend. In all seriousness things like burpees and sprints will for sure curb your appetite.

Free weights YES! Here is another vote for The New Rules series. I did the New Rules of Lifting for Women and it totally changed my life +my view on working out. New Rules of Lifting for Life may be a good choice for you as someone mentioned above.

This website posts a good at home workout every day: http://greatist.com/gwod They have strength and metabolic ones. Just get moving and force yourself to stop overthinking it! ( I am guilty of this too sometimes)

I've taken them in place of coffee- work fine. No jitters or headaches. I DO drink coffee daily so I'm used to caffeine.
