  • Hello Happy Monday :) Mihani, it sounds like you had a great party! TDH, Artichoke lentil loaf is one of my favorites. I'll have to try the tomato basil soup. It looks great! My goals for February were: 1. Lose 8 lbs. I lost 4.5 lbs. I'll take it :) 2. Work out 4 days a week including at least 2 gym classes. I met that…
  • Happy Birthday Mihani :)
  • Hi all. Happy Birthday Karrie! We made the best recipe last night, which I wanted to share. It's from the Dr Fuhrman website, and it tastes a lot like mozzarella sticks :) It's called Crispy Marinara Baked Tofu. We used extra firm high quality tofu, but we skipped pressing it.…
  • Lia, that's awesome that you're having a vegetarian wedding. My in-laws would have rioted!
  • I want to say hi too! I was visiting family over the weekend, so it was hard to eat healthy. But I'm back on track now that I'm home. We made the 10 spice vegetable soup last night, and it was very good!
  • You guys are inspiring me to to try the strict 6 week plan again, though I think I'm going to hold off for now because I'm still nursing my babies. Perhaps I can join in with 6 weeks of strict ETL without completely cutting out whole grains and limiting nuts/seeds/avocado so strictly. If I start on Monday (after my weekend…
  • Yes, i'm having sucess. We have an ETL group on MFP that you can join.
  • Sorry I've been falling behind on posting. I read everything , but it's hard to find time and energy for long posts these days. I've been eating really well during the week, but weekends are harder for me. It's really hard to stay on track when going out to eat or to someone's house. Next weekend will be a big challenge…
  • I love that costco mix. If you use a mix of greens each day, how is that different from cycling your greens? I know Dr. Fuhrman says not to make spinach more than half of your greens.
  • I find that adding beans to my smoothy helps hold me over.
  • Dr Fuhrman says that tofu is fine (very minimally processed), but seitan is empty calories. I still have seitan occasionally as a treat though. I love bbq seitan ribs :)
  • Lots of beans in your salad
  • Happy February! My diet/fitness goals for February are (1) Lose 8 lbs (2) Exercise 4x a week including at least 2 classes at my work gym (3) Avoid almost all SAD food. I've been having about 1 (usually small) cheat per day for the last week, and I'd like to cut back on that. I'm also hoping to get sleep, though I'm not…
  • Lia, I made the cauliflower wings today. Thanks for the recipe. They were really good and filled a craving :) I made a double recipe of berry explosion muffins on Friday, and my kids have already devoured about 80% of them! MakePeasNotWar, I hope you feel better. StarLovesSky, that aubergine recipe looks great. I'll have…
  • Lia, I found a copy of the curry recipe here http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/03/22/no-hurry-vegetable-curry/ We left out the coconut milk because we didn't have any, though I'm sure it would be tasty with the milk too. It's from "Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker" by Robin Robertson. We do a number of recipes from…
  • Yes, there are many good cookbooks. I love anything by Robin Robertson, especially "Fire and Spice" and her slow cooker book. There are lots good recipes on fatfreevegan.com.
  • Eat mostly unprocessed fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. You will need a B12 supplement and possibly a DHA/Omega3 supplement. I like books by Joel Fuhrman.
  • Do you think it's worth reading? I've already read ETL, Eat for Health, Super Immunity and Disease Proof Your Child.
  • Welcome noexcuses! Congrats on the new lifestyle. I'm relatively new to the group also. I recommitted to ETL about a month ago, and I'm feeling so much better already. I've also lost 14 lbs :-) (though I still have a ways to go). If you want to cut out oil for salad, there are some good recipes out there for nut and seed…
  • Technically, I'm a pescatarian (fish but no meat), but I try to eat vegan 99% of the time.
  • No, I've never cooked them. I toss them in at the end.
  • Mung bean sprouts are good in Thai dishes. We put them in a healthy version of Pad Thai we make.
  • Also for the breakfast bars, you can't substitute for the banana. That holds it together. Whats_her_name, are you doing a particular juicing diet? I can't do it while still nursing my twins, but I'm interested for later.
  • Jo, I found a link to the recipe Antioxident Rich Breakfast Bars online: http://www.lavistacsa.org/recipe/antioxidant-rich-breakfast-bars. It's a Dr. Fuhrman recipe. We add beans and greens to the recipe (so that our kids get some more protein and greens in their diets). You can substitute so many of the ingredients too…
  • I had 3 parties over the weekend and as a result made some less than stellar food choices (including 2 martinis at tropical martini night o:) ) Somehow I lost weight anyway, though I'm determined to do better this week. We had the Artichoke Lentil Loaf tonight, from the Eat to Live cookbook, that that was delicious. We…
  • what's_her_name, that sounds exhausting. I was hoping that things would get a little more relaxed with older kids. Hopefully you get some rest tonight. Lia, let me know how Focus T25 is. I was thinking of getting that, but I'm really just looking for a good workout for the weekends. During the week I workout at our office…
  • Fatfreevegan.com is awesome
  • Eating has been going well. We made a vegetable soup and Thai Braised Kale and Tofu, which is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, the babies got my husband and I sick, so I've had a fever for the last two days. If I get better at the same rate they do, then I should be able to go to work tomorrow. *fingers crossed* I also…
  • Hi. I just joined this group. I recommitted to ETL about 3 weeks ago after about two years of not eating very well (partly due to having, nursing and caring for twins). I want to lose weight and get in better shape, and I'm trying to completely avoid non-ETL foods. So far I'm doing pretty well; I've lost 10 lbs so far. But…
