I had an omelette with one egg and 1/4 cup egg whites, 2oz of sautéed zucchini, mushrooms and onions, 1/2 cup-ish of strawberries and 2 chicken and sage sausages. 366 calls, 5 grams of carbs. Plus my coffee with 2tbsp of heavy cream.....

I haven't found this to be the case for me, but I don't use it as a moisturizer, I remove makeup and wash my face with it. Rub it all over, then use a hot steamy wash cloth, rinsed several times to wipe it off.

I do a little of both. I make mason jar salads for lunches, about 2-3 days worth as that's all my fridge can manage. I have cooked protein, steamed/sautéed veggies and roasted squash and sweet potatoes. For dinners, I just measure out bits of what's in the fridge and warm it up in a cast iron skillet. I plan a couple of…

I think you can be addicted to junk food to a certain extent. Eating fatty, salty and sugary things release endorphins which hit the pleasure centers of your brain which is the same place that light up when you use some drugs. Food companies have spent billions on creating food that is hyper-palatable while…

If you're honestly and accurately logging your food for 2 months you should have more than enough data to make some educated tweaks to your diet and see if you can get the scale moving again. Look at your eating week to week, look at what you're eating and see if you see a trend some where. I was feeling like crap and…

Not a cookbook but I LOVE Pinterest for recipe stalking.

All of the above and I use it to season my cast iron skillets! I haven't used anything on my face save for coconut oil and honey for a year. It's cheaper than Clinique and my skin feels awesome. Coconut oil has a high smoke point making it great for sauté and roasting. Stay away from vegetable and canola oils for cooking…

If you have access to Pandora, there's Pop and Hip Hop Power workout station. If you're sensitive to profanity be careful there, though.

New Balance Minimus. Hands down my favorite shoe ever. I have 4 pairs and I wear them for everything except work and social stuff.

I haven't had issues. Sometimes they sag in the crotch a tad, but it doesn't really bother me. On the other hand, I usually have issues with my tops scrunching up, so I usually look for really long tops.

This is my first week and I've been having dull, constant headaches. I went back over my macros and I was at about 50g of carbs on the worst days. I'm adding in a little sweet potato or some berries to each meal and it seems to be helping.

And... The Lipid Hypothesis is being proven to be crappy science. So there's that.

Oh my, do I ever get you. There was a show on BBC awhile back called "Kill It, Cook it, Eat It" in the episode I remember best, they had a deer hung from a hook and they skinned it one movement and that had me salivating.... I knew I was and would ever be an unapologetic carnivore. Link me your Kickstarter, even if you're…

Hey Batman, (I can't call you Fatman, I just can't) all good advice up there but there's something you mentioned that nobody has addressed and it's shift work. Shift work can put a damper on your weight loss big time. Here's an article that has some great info on surviving shift work…

Omega 6 and 9 aren't bad, they're essential, the problem with them is ratio to Omega 3. Generally, our diets are out of the proper ratio because of how our food is processed in the States. The consequences of a diet high in Omega 6 are inflammatory issues, arthritis, colitis and the like. If you're snacking on a lot of…

I stick to a paleo/primal diet 90% of the time!

It's hard to really answer that. There are so many aspects to weight loss it takes a lot more information to decipher the problem. Sometimes it's eating too few calories, sometimes it's not eating the right food sometimes it's something completely, seemingly unrelated like bad sleep or a hormonal imbalance. Remember that…

Friend me, Yoe! I was almost 40 a couple of years ago! I wish I had started when I was your age.

I hear you, Jim. I'm new too. Here's to a great start and an even better finish!

I think you need to take in the consideration of where your meat is sourced as well. Pastured beef (aka grass fed and finished) is way better for your health, the environment and the animal itself. If you are concerned about total consumption, grass fed beef has more nutritional value hands down, than nearly every other…
