He doesn't seem to be fine from what you've described. He's scared, bedridden, and you say you have to do what's best for you. He has major health issues. So do you. You don't have to exercise to lose weight (although it helps), but maintain a calorie deficit. He could be harboring some jealousy that you can do stuff that…

How many calories are in your protein shakes? What are bcaas? Are you eating any actual food? If so, how much? How many 400-600 calorie burn workouts are you doing a day or week, and what are you doing to burn that many calories? That said (or asked), a week is way too short of a time period to assess weight loss.…

Yep, yep.

My face is still fat (but less so), my arms and legs below the joints are really skinny, and my middle is still big. I still look like a chicken, but at least I don't look like a pregnant chicken. Well, I guess chickens are pregnant all the time. Hmmm, never thought about that, hah!

I wasn't satisfied with my body before I gained the weight! Silly me . . . But now that I've lost over half the pounds needed for my goal weight, I'm not nearly as hard on myself. I look so much better than I did 32 pounds ago that it's hard to focus on the next 28, but it will happen. The best thing is that I'm now more…

I usually exercise first thing in the morning, which helps me control myself the rest of the day (don't want to waste those calories I burned!). Even if it's only a mile walking my dog, it helps. Days that I don't do that I tend to eat more.

Every single morning after I pee.

"I beg your pardon, would you slowly repeat what you just said?" is one of my favorite lines. Make sure you frown and slightly squint your eyes while asking this. And then dump your friends. When I quit smoking, I had to dump most of my smoking friends because they just couldn't stand it that I simply quit cold turkey and…

I'm 5'2" and had gotten up to 169.8 lbs. before I had a mental heart attack and decided to start losing. My goal weight is 110, which is what I weighed all my life before I quit smoking in 2004. I've lost just over 30 pounds since December, slowly but surely, and have about 30 more to go. People who notice (it's amazing…

Are you exercising? Even a 30-minute walk a day can help you feel more energetic.

100 calories is four cough drops, way too few to measure accurately. Go for 300 calories and maybe 100 will stick. Although recomp makes sense as well; with so little to lose, it definitely shouldn't affect you.
-
You are 5'5" and want to be below 119 lbs.????? You do not have the weight problem that you think you do.
-
If you started at 200 pounds as of a few weeks ago when you bought your new food scale and now you weigh 193.8, looks to me like you're doing pretty good.

I am 5'2" and stayed at 105-110 all my life, except during pregnancy. I smoked cigarettes. When I quit smoking at age 51, I gained weight, going all the way up to 169.8 pounds as of last year. I'm down to 140 now, with another 30 to go. I will not start smoking again, but if you want to be skinny and stinky, start smoking.

Oh my.

What do you mean by "some type of way"? I've never heard that expression.

I have a Fitbit Zip that I use strictly as a pedometer. It encourages me to walk more because I am friends with a few people who throw out walking challenges and my steps are posted online for all to see. I'm parking at the far end of parking lots and have joined a cheap gym that I pass once a week just to use a treadmill…

Works for me as well.

No, to my personal email address.
-
Apparently not! @ninerbuff , what say you?

I still can't see my weight loss except in "before" pictures. I instead see myself at 110 pounds and am aghast when I accidentally catch my reflection in a mirror or window even though I've lost 30 pounds so far. 30 more to go.
-
Walking is the best. You can start out just going short distances, then increase them every day or two. If you feel yourself losing your breath (as I often do), then just stop and rest. Good luck to you!

Eat less. Move more. Eating under 1200 calories for a YEAR??? And haven't lost even a pound? Either you are underestimating calories eaten or overestimating calories burned.
-
How did you gain weight if you can't even eat 1200 calories a day now?
-
Wow two flags in four posts. Water is my best appetite suppressor. Drink lots and lots of water. You'll also burn more calories running to the bathroom.
-
Log it and move on. Next time, exercise off the calories and/or consume less calories BEFORE you have a diet-devastating night!
-
Very likely! Thanks!

I agree with clothes. I am currently wearing clothes too big for me because I still don't fit into the next size down. It will be wonderful to go shopping for size 6 clothes and look stylish again instead of looking like a homeless man!

I hate it when someone reads a stickie, responds to it, and makes it look like a new thread. I don't see a problem with asking a question that was answered four years ago - new people join every day.

Nobody notices that I've lost 30 pounds. Nobody. I have to show them a "before" picture and they are totally taken aback. Then they say I don't need to lose another 30 pounds. Yes, I do, but they won't notice. Which Is fine with me.
