  • I tend to want..food. Seriously I just crave eating. Typically things with sugar. I don't keep candy cookies or ice cream I my house. So I'll turn to dried fruits, chobani, popcorn, dried cereal etc. Sometimes fruit snacks if I have some for my kids. It's just food that I want. And it's just right after dinner. I do so…
  • I appreciate all the responses! Hoping I can keep things rolling..actually didn't eat anything after dinner last night! Very proud of myself. Hopefully today will be day 2..and once I get a few days down I'm much more confident and strong. What I did tell myself yesterday. My mom has smoked all my life and has always had a…

  • Last Jan I started iifym and tracked until easter. Visited family and stuffed myself. It's pretty frustrating to do something for that long and fall back into old habits. I would think, I can do this... I just don't want this to be how my brain works the rest of my life. I'm 33 and want to be mentally healthy and not have…

  • My last reply didn't post.. I've binged on everything from fruit to sugary snacks. Too much of even 'healthy' is still not good for you. I've just been thinking and noticed that I'm fine all day long until after dinner. Then I have such a strong pull to just keep eating. I seriously never feel full. I've also noticed that…

  • I have. And I'd like to but I have a hard time finding someone I think would be fitting. Not sure how to fit the right person. It seems like most therapist 'specialize' in everything. If you have any tips I'd be open.
  • I'm wondering how long it would take to break this habit. Because I've had a few times when I was successful and thought that I might actually be done with binging! Anyways..last night was night 3 of not eating after dinner. Typically I'll still be hungry and eat a snack. I kept reminding myself that I wasn't hungry. Wish…
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. It's just such a strong craving to eat-anything. I don't keep 'bad' foods in my house but that doesn't matter. It's the toughest struggle to get one full good day in. Then I can usually keep going..except I'd like for that to become habit bc I tend to fall bk off after a few days, couple of…
  • I've had this issue for at least 12 yrs now..I don't know the trigger. It has become an almost unable to break habit. Gum doesn't work. I don't keep 'bad' foods in my house but eating even too much of good foods isn't good for you. I eat great all day..then after dinner I just crave food-doesn't matter. I'd prefer ice…
  • It's not just eating at night..it's a binge-that walking won't take off the next day. You know if you binge. It's like nothing fills you up and you can't stop.
  • Thanks for the reply. My down fall is night snacking. I've done much better but will work on cutting back more and/or changing the snacks.

  • I used a calculation from my sisters workout program-can't remember the body builder lady's name (maybe Jessie's girls?) but she had some complicated calculation...which added a few more then mfp. I wasn't losing weight w mfp original estimate and bumped it up...lost a little but haven't seen much change since. I am pretty…
  • I go to chickfila 1x a week and jasons usually 1x (when it's just me and the kids). Not too often and I make sure I run is part of my workout on those days. Don't think that's the reason I not seeing any changes on the scale. My arms are more toned so maybe I have gained a little muscle but I still feel the wt should be…
  • I eat bars bc they are easy to grab with kids. One protein drink is always post exercise the other when I'm hungry in the afternoon. It's best to look at my tracker before easter...went out of town and had a hard time tracking and been a little off since. My cal goal is 2100. So you think I shouldn't eat any exercise cals?…
  • I'm pretty competent in weighing and measuring my food. I don't want to go to low either bc that doesn't always work. I was a little lower before and didn't lose..added some cals and lost a little but really haven't gotten far or really even close to where I'd like to be.
  • Both
  • Any ideas???
  • I've opened the diary. Also, I weigh and measure all of my food. I don't even take one nibble or animal cracker from my kids bc I don't want to track it.
  • I actually do weigh and count everything. I don't snack on my kids snacks. .one animal cracker can lead to a bowl full so I just don't do it. And i like to eat similar foods bc it takes the thought out of what I can eat since I'm so busy. My measurements were down a little the other day so hopefully they keep getting…
  • I know I'm in better shape and stronger but I don't think muscle is built that fast esp when you aren't using weights. Wish my body would just start to show some changes so I'd feel better abt my process.
  • I weigh and measure all my food. Started working out again mid january. Had been training and ran a marathon in january. And I'm always running/working out. Sometimes I take a break from the workouts. So training isn't new to me. According to mfp - I should be at a deficit. Just confused and frustrated. My husband does…
  • Who knew a simple term would cause such an argument. Maybe I should have said...eat something I'd prefer not to because I'd rather eat something else or nothing. Didn't mean to start arguments-posted while watching my kids so just typed it up quick. If anyone read my previous post, which many didn't bc I stated that no…
  • Thanks Mel!
  • And next time I will definitely pack more snacks that I don't mind eating...ran out last time.
  • Sorry to cause such a stir with my use of the work 'junk.' I didn't really mean anything by it. My background...former college athlete, 2 kids (3 and 16mo), and former binge eater. This summer I ate so well and lost about 15lbs. I have to start strict-ish to get on track, but once I get a few days under my belt I can…
  • Probably didn't gain 8 actual pounds. Drink lots of water and get back on track! I'm 31 and when I mess up eating it takes several days maybe close to 5-7 days to get back. A few yrs ago..used to be bk the day after I cleaned up and drank tons of water. Not so much anymore. So I'm kinda getting to where I tell myself it's…
  • Last time I measured I'd lost 1" on my waist. I'm not obsessive..just like to understand my body as much as possible. I did well with my eating this summer and had a few times where my weight would hold/plateau and eventually it would fall off. Just had to make it through those times.
  • Thanks for all the responses. I'm not really worried-just figured I'd ask for opinions. I do weigh and measure all my food so I know I'm pretty accurate. I've taken pics and measurements..do this 1x a week to compare. I know it's a process and takes time..I have to remind myself of that esp since I want to be successful at…
  • I've taken some pics but don't see much change bc my eating hasn't been too consistent. Took measurements..need to update. But I'd like to get a solid week in before I measure again.
  • I'm not that dead set on losing 15 by then. That would be great. But I'm hoping by eating better, keeping up the workouts, continuing to run..that I'll see noticeable changes!
  • Well..i have 2 kids under 3 so I'm always lacking in energy (husband is out of town 80% of the time), always wear workout clothes - so can't tell if things fit better, and I wrote down a ton of home crossfit/hiit workouts - not as sore as when I started but I try to do harder and different workouts each time. I hate…
