That post helped me put realistic expectations in order! I think I've lost about .5lbs a week, which has often been masked by water or hormonal fluctuations. But I like how much he simplifies the confusion about this topic. Another great post if you have any questions about what you're doing or want to know how to readjust…

Same boat! From the research I've read and posts on MFP that were actually worth a damn, lol, the closer you get to your goal weight, the more exact you have to be in counting your calories, because your deficit gets smaller, thus you have less wiggle room, and less room for error. This post is awesome. Steve is the best…

Same! I'm on week 9 of p90x lean. Kenpo is my favourite. I get super bored if my workouts aren't diverse enough. You get awesome results from it too. You can do different versions of the program too, like lean, regular or doubles. So you have a bunch of options. I bought mine on craigslist for cheap. I also downloaded…

Oh good question! I'm also curious!

Ohhhh awesome suggestions! I'm gonna try magnesium with my primrose oil, sounds like they could be some serious bffs. Thank you :)

Hahahah I love it. When I'm out of control cranky I do kickboxing and picture my ex boss. *sigh of relief* Also giving cut eye to gym strange men would work wonders! You made me lol

You can make alot of your own "healthier" versions of granola bars or cookies by using fruit purees or vegetable purees in your baking and staying away from honeys, agave or other sweeteners instead of placing your faith in whatever snack some huge corporation MARKETED as "healthy" that's packed with garbage like high…

Don't get me wrong, I don't cut it out entirely either. I male healthier versions of cookies or switched to 70% chocolate to satisfy my sugar cravings. We're all human, we can't punish ourselves for living in moderation. All I'm saying is that yes, there's alot of crappy added refined sugars in alot of bs"heAlthy" foods,…

Maybe I just don't see the purpose in defending foods high in gs of sugar just cause it fits your calorie allocation. What's the point in getting "healthier" if you're not getting healthier?
-
This. Regardless if it fits into your calories, I've always learned the more you cut out processed sugar, the better. Natural sugars from fruits and veggies being different than processed sugars. If there's no difference, than wtf is all this nutritional information discussing the horrible affects of processed sugars all…

Lollll, I've also searched it. But it would def depend on positions for calories burned...lol

Thank you!! You're the best! Can't tell you how much I appreciate all your insight and detailed responses. You put so much time into answering all our questions, it's so awesome! It's so easy to over think all this stuff, you helped ease my mind %100000 and confirm I'm heading the right way. Very very much appreciated!…

Also, personal question for you: do you cut alcohol out of your diet? Or do you enjoy it in moderation?
-
Oh, and another goal is to strengthen my legs to support a bad knee I screwed up snowboarding in college.
-
Awesome insight, thank you tons for taking the time to answer. About the deficit. I should've clarified I know I'm in a deficit, I was just unclear if it was significant enough. The more I read the more I kinda confused myself about how much I should eat. But 1500 seems to be a good/happy spot considering I eat about 4…

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10081313/mfp-vs-tdee-what-works-best-for-you#latest This thread was interesting, I was curious what everyone prefered using mfp or tdee, and ppl totally helped clarify it for me.
-
I was confused about the same thing. MFP recommended 1200 for me too. I used this:http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ It's obviously an estimated calculation, but still more detailed than other calculators. I found it helpful. It'll tell how how many calories to aim for while taking into account your activity level.

AVACADO I use mashed avacado instead of butter in baking, instead of mayo in everything. You can flavor it with savory or sweet ingredients. It is already very buttery in texture and isn't super flavorful on its own, so I like using it for alot. Even creamy pasta sauces. Super dense in nutrition too.

Mind.blown.

I should've clarified, I know I'm eating at a deficit, just not a large one. I think.
-
Agreed

I wanna do that too. I make myself a batch of "breakfast cookies". (1cup oats, 1/2cup natural nut butter and 1 mashed banana) but I add unsweetened cocoa or chocolate chips. I divide the recipe into 16 cookies, roughly 55cal each. Helps give me the illusion I'm eating chocolate but at least not as guilty feeling. Also, for…

Hi Steve, Love your posts. They're amazingly insightful and knowledgeable. I guess I'll go ahead and ask you some of my burning questions since you're here and such an awesome source of info and feedback., I'd you don't mind. Firstly, I'm 28,f, 5'6" and 135. I've been doing p90x- lean, for 8 weeks. (I know I know, old dvd…

Yea I've realized that after reading everyone's responses. Interesting, I never really thought about it that way, endurance athlete type training vs routined workouts. Totally makes sense
-
Interesting! I've never heard of that. I was taking evening primrose for awhile and definitely felt like it helped alot of symptoms...I'm bad at supplements though, I forget them and Im never consistent. But it might be something that could help some of you ladies! The woman at the health store responded "OMG YES! The…

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels lame when I feel like Crap. I try most of the time I push through it, and working out has helped my symptoms immensely, but not completely. My biggest problem is fatigue. The music tricks you guys mentioned is a good one! As is tv trick. Like bribing myself, lol. Water helps me too…
