Richard, from the West Midlands. Down 5st, 5 lbs left but looking at slowly losing over the next 2-3 months :)

I tend to pre log breakfast and lunch the day before as I prepare on the evening. My evening meal varies, if it’s something prepackaged I’ll just scan it there and then. If it’s something else like jackets with a side, I’ll search my last recent entry for that and add it, just so I have a rough idea of how many calories I…

Not wearing glasses - thank you laser eye surgery 😅

Hi, macros won’t dictate how much you lose or at what rate. It’s simply a matter of calories in vs calories out. However I will say that as you are so close to goal weight, I would seriously reconsider such an aggressive weight loss as 1-2 lbs and would look more to a sustainable 0.5 lbs per week. It may seem discouraging…

Hi, sorry to hear you’re struggling even though you’re clearly putting in the effort. I take it your goal is to reduce weight? Most importantly, are you weighing out your food with an accurate digital scale? Using measurements like tsp/tbsp can lead to varying levels of underestimated calories. Also, are you eating back…

Hi, I take a collagen bovine powder with my morning shake. Have been doing this now for about 2-3 months. In that time however I have also taken up cycling again, restarted boxing and for the past few weeks been back at the gym. I’ve also for the past month been eating at maintenance calories to allow my body to recover…

Hey, Richard from the UK. Lost 5 stone through diet and exercise so far, very slowly aiming to shift the last 5 lbs and focus on becoming fitter and healthier.
-
You look in amazing shape man!
-
Hey, I’ve lost 5 stone since last September (most was lost by April this year). You can do this 👍

Your activity level is sedentary as that’s the amount of exertion you do day to day that isn’t purposeful exercise. The exercise that you do do, should be logged within MFP and calories added to your daily allowance. You should eat those back. MFP and other calculators do normally overestimate calories burned during…

Slimming world is similar, a friend of mine is going through that and was hyping it up. I asked how the points system worked (I think it’s syns with SW) and it seemed like a massively overly convoluted system which once boiled down was low calories low syns and vice versa. I just thought calories are so much simpler, weigh…

If you’re salt intake has increased, then you will get a slight boost in water retention and therefore weight gain, this is temporary and will go down once you return to normal salt levels. This happens to me whenever I have something like pizza or when I use a little too much sea salt on my fries/steaks  I can…

How long have you been tracking calories? If less than 2-3 weeks, it’s not a surprise as some people take a while for it to show. If it’s been longer and you haven’t lost during that period at all, then I suggest there’s more than likely an issue with how you’re tracking your consumption, ie you’re not weighing everything,…

84 for me - though I doubt I will make it that old personally, the men in my family tend to top out between 60-80 unfortunately. I just hope I’m healthy and have sound mind for as long as possible.

My phone (iphone) is pretty much always on me, so I track my steps with that, although I don’t obsess with hitting a certain goal.

Decided to check my blood pressure and it’s now in the healthy range of 115/75 compared to 5 months ago at 136/74!

I’ve heard various times of the day is best. However the best time is actually the time that you go. If you don’t go, then you don’t progress, if you go, you do

Riding a pretty identical route on my mountain bike, today vs my 2nd ride a month ago - knocked 20 minutes off of it! And didn’t feel too tired afterwards either!!

Well done 👍 you look fresher and younger! Do you mind me asking how tall you are? You started at a similar weight to me (18st5lbs)

From the midlands 👍 My diaries open to friends, more than welcome to add me. Just ignore my once in a blue moon meal out indulgence at the Indian restaurant yesterday 🙄

It’s up to you really. I personally like to know how much I weigh and check trends and see how different foods affect me (mainly salt leading to water retention) as I find that interesting. As said before, a good reason to know your current weight is so that you can update MyFitnessPal which will change your calorie…

I want you back - *NSYNC Stuck in my head because of the latest McDonald’s ad

I’d say at your starting weight, the rate you’ve chosen is appropriate. Providing you’ve input your stats correctly and set your activity level appropriately and MyFitnessPal has suggested that calorie goal, then you’re good to go 👍. I wouldn’t lower anymore until you’re further into your journey and if you do exercise…
