Can you link to the one you get? I'm curious what's good, as I haven't actually bought any of these things.

Yeah, it was part of my cut-all-possible-expenses move when hubby got laid off a few weeks ago.... don't worry, I'll probably get it back. I used Subscribe and Save for diapers and wipes and other consumables that cost a ton in the store. Once I figured out my monthly need, I saved a ton of money that way (2-3 kids at a…

I canceled Prime... LOL

Haha, I just said there's not much of a stall but I'm currently in an 18-month stall. But it's not because of alcohol. I just had to clarify. :)

Yeah, I'm afraid to drink for all of those reasons too, but I do imbibe occasionally. I don't react well to beer now that I'm low carb, though. I prefer mixed drinks or red wine. For mixed drinks I tend to have gin and diet tonic, vodka and diet tonic, or whiskey and diet cola. I think the kick out of ketosis is pretty…

Thank you! It's good to be back! Maybe I'll stay a while....

I just wish I could get rid of 30 more pounds to be in the 150s, but truthfully I haven't been in the 150s since high school and that may not even be realistic for me. It's okay. I felt great in the 160s too. Yeah, my life is pretty insanely busy. It won't be like this forever. Initially I picked up extra jobs to make some…

Yes indeed! I feel so much more even-keeled! I have more energy, my skin seems to not be breaking out as much.... I may need to buy a new (larger-sized) wardrobe, but if I feel good, it's so worth it!

LOL, yeah. After one good-and-stiff mixed drink, I'm happy as can be. It used to take a few for sure.

Well I did walk around Aldi for at least 30 minutes on my way home yesterday and then carried everything into the house by myself.... and I did not get off my feet until about 9pm (cooking, tending to the kids, standing in the hallway outside their room to "remind" them to get their butts back in bed, etc.). That's as good…

Thanks for the welcome! My keys to staying away from the peanut butter monster are having good snacks on hand and not letting myself get hungry. That's why my calories have been pretty high lately. I figure as long as I'm not eating peanut butter, I'm making progress. Getting my calories back under control can come later.…

I'm a ranch girl. Or salsa and sour cream. My favorite, though, is olive oil and salt. Is that gross? I don't really like vinegar, and I put salt on everything. :) My husband likes different kinds of ranch, like cucumber ranch or jalapeno ranch or whatever.

True. Very true. I keep telling myself "slow and steady wins the race." The problem comes in when I am not making any progress at all and decide it's not working. *sigh* Silly me.

It's funny, I was about to type something along the lines of "I hope I'm still around after 3 years," but then I realized that was really dumb. I feel better eating this way than I've ever felt in my life. I may refine it further, but going back to refined carbs and sugar is definitely not going to happen if I want to…

Thanks! I'm actually not trying to maintain. I still have around 30 pounds to lose before I reach MY goal (which is still in the overweight category for my build).
-
Nice to "meet" you! My 3 littles are 4 (turning 5 this weekend), 3 (turning 4 in July), and 2-1/2. The puppy is almost a year old. Husband is more work than the 4 of them. Just kidding!
-
Thank you! It's nice to feel in control again. :)
-
Oh, thank God! I thought I was *supposed* to be pudgier!

I feed my family of 5 for less than $100 a week by shopping at Aldi and meal planning. We are meat eaters (and the kids and hubby are carbivores), so I try to do meal planning and focus on one type of meat each week and buy it in bulk. For example, one week I made all ground beef dinners, the next week I made all chicken…

My reflux almost entirely went away when I started low carb. I will say, though, that when I do get it now it's more of the chest pain kind than the fire in my throat kind, which makes it scarier. Thank goodness it's rare.

I've been so inactive (mostly due to being too darn busy all the time), that my goals are very very modest: I want to get outside for a walk at least once a week. I'm off to a good start--took the kiddos walking around the neighborhood on Sunday (mostly because they were driving me crazy in the house and I wanted to wear…

I actually just completed an egg fast as laid out on the food blog "I Breathe, I'm Hungry." There are some great recipes there that I'm going to continue to use. My favorites are the buffalo omelette and the cream cheese pancakes (which can be adapted for all sorts of uses). If you can tolerate sweeteners, the…

That would be a logical explanation if he picked it up.....

I do. It's usually more cost-effective, on top of avoiding the additives. The only down side is that my husband can't seem to shred cheese without making a mess!

That's what I was afraid of. I generally just order coffee or an Americano from Starbucks, at about $3 a visit. How many bites do you get? Are they about the size of mini muffins? I'm going to have to try this, but I've been trying to limit my Starbucks visits recently in the interest of my budget....

I did a dairy free trial for a couple weeks to see if it was the cause of my skin problems. No luck. It wasn't as hard as I thought, but I did keep butter in my diet. Butter makes everything better, in my opinion. :)

I don't think I've shared this here yet, as I've been absent a lot lately, but... my feet don't hurt anymore! I don't know what caused it or how it went away, but I'd had pins and needles and sharp shooting pain on my feet any time I stood up after sitting or lying down. It started during one of my pregnancies and didn't…

Thank you! I'm surprised there aren't more in the Houston area....

Mine was high for the first time ever at my annual this year. I'm 40 and had been low carbing for 20 months at that point (but hadn't been to a doctor since starting LCHF, so I don't know what anything looked like until this visit--I just know I'd had complete lipid panels before and never was told I had high cholesterol).…

Ditto. I've been off plan most of the last 2-1/2 months, and I'm always hungry, have way less energy, and just generally feel unwell. I'm back on track as of yesterday morning, and I'm already feeling better and more in control. :)
