Sometimes I get bored while walking too so I will schedule a phone call with family or a friend (since I moved out of state, I have a long list of people to choose from that I don't see regularly). Time flies by when you're having a good conversation! And I use my headphones so I keep my hands free.

I have this thing that Velcro straps around my upper arm and I slide my phone down in it. Very snug. And there's a hole for your headphones. Got it at Walmart I believe for less than 20$.

You could do sissy squats balancing yourself by lightly touching a doorknob or something. If you do those to failure your quads will buuuuuuurn.

Just lose the weight. You can't spot reduce. There's a really helpful sticky called "so you want a nice stomach" I believe. It's full of really helpful information. Start there. And be patient! Abs are "made in the kitchen" they say.

Most gym classes cater to a variety of levels, in fact, the beginner is probably more catered to than most everyone else, in my opinion. I guess the question is, what classes does your gym offer?

I live in SW Louisiana and its been so ridiculously hot here that all exercise has been indoors all summer except for early evening walks. So winter is probably when I'll be able to move it outdoors! Childcare. And it's actually really great childcare. Like I've had this girl babysit my lo at my house. So that was huge for me. Having good dependable people take good care of my child so that I don't have to worry about her. Also I love the classes and I generally don't have to wait for a squat rack (there are only 2).
