  • Great job!!!
  • The tips I can give are what works for me so far; no soda, strictly water, very low sugar, log calories, cardio & weight lifting, very low caffeine. Reward yourself for milestones (another month going to the gym = new sneakers or clothes, 10 lb loss = new perfume, etc). Also, treat yourself to something good for yourself…
  • Thanks everyone!!! I still have another 90 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight of 150 :)
  • Friday Fitness, what my workout week looks like: M - Walk / Run - 20+ minutes, Strength training (lift weights) T - Rest W - Zumba Th - Barre Class - 30 minutes, Strength training (lift weights) F - Walk / Run - 20 + minutes (sometimes another strength training) Sat - Zumba Sun - Rest (or YoBarreLates)
  • Great!!! I love this advice! Makes perfect sense to me; I am now throwing away the word "jogging" from my internal dictionary LOL :)
  • A big hug to you. I've been where you are; only it was my daughter when she was 12. Thankfully, we survived and she's 22 now & of course she tells me now that she's sorry for the way she used to be. Have you gotten him into any sort of counseling? She was diagnosed with a few disorders (won't state what they are for…
  • Wednesday - Wishes (what do you wish? It can be weight related or not, can be realistic or not) What do I wish? Well, I fervently wish that I had not let myself go for so many years, as now I consider the damage I've done to my body & after I lose the weight I worry about how the "loose skin" might appear. I might get…
  • Happy Tuesday! Well, someone mentioned the best way to see where we need to tweak is to track everything, I'm proud to report that I do just that, and have since I started MFP sometime back in Jan. Goals - I'm working on a 'running' goal right now. Just started on Friday, when I ran (well really jogged, but ran sounds so…
  • Here in the US we have Avon, and they sell a product called skin so soft, that has always worked amazing for mosquito's for me. You spray it on your skin and it doesn't have that harsh smell like other mosquito repellents do.
  • Monday - Check In (how are you doing? Had any successes or struggles this week-end?) Hi everyone. I'm doing fairly well today for a Monday LOL. I had a really good success this weekend on Saturday at Zumba, where the "fast" instructor was holding the class. Normally I cringe when she's there because she is really high…
  • Hi everyone, new(er) here. I started trying to get my life back about 5 months ago as I prepared for weight loss surgery (bmi was 42), but somewhere along the process something stuck and I lost "too much" weight to where my insurance wouldn't likely approve it. The great nurses and dietician (sp?) I was working with sat me…
  • Yeah I used to drink all fully leaded pop (mountain dew, coke, pepsi, dr.pepper), then when I was pregnant I had gestational diabetes and switched to solely coke zero, which is not the best either with the caffeine. After I had the baby I continued and developed like a full fledged addiction to the stuff. Seriously, one…
  • You mention pretzels, OMG snyder's hot buffalo wing pretzels! I wouldn't count them out, but I haven't had any in a very very long time. They are sooooo good. Same thing though, I will inhale the bag. Better buy those little individual packets instead. 1 at a time.
  • I think for my benefit, I'll just stay away from it. "My name is Gena, and it's been 126 days since my last Coke Zero"
  • Do you take the food out of the freezer the night before to thaw, or can you microwave it in the ziplock bag? I know one time I froze some spaghetti in a glad container & the container popped a hole in it when I microwaved it from frozen.
  • Seems, for me, there's something to that theory, because I swear I would eat a bag of lifesavers in a sitting. Terrible terrible eating habits, and all with coke zero. I also was one of those people folks make fun of ordering a Big Mac, Large Fry and.......Coke Zero.
  • Ooooooh that's way easy! Thanks so much for sharing that!!! I think I'll start there, it also has me eating a TON more calories than what MFP is alloting, with a 15% reduction.

  • Ah! Okay, well yes, I know my bmi so that makes it easier. Using the method Hornsby described, I came up with 151.9 g of Protein. Now what about the other macro's (fat / carbs)?

  • You said you get around 1g prot per lb of Lean Body mass per day. How do I know how much "lean" body mass I have, there's nothing lean about me at this point :(

  • I have this question too, I don't understand the defaults & how to determine how much of each meal I'm eating should be proteins / carbs / fats.

  • You do look great, I used to drink like.....8-10 or more coke zero's a day.
  • I am going to have to get some of those chocolate salted caramel bars, I LOVE salted caramel ANYTHING (the skinny cow salted caramel ice cream bars are a DREAM!)
  • I like the Chick-Fila grilled chicken cool wrap; I eat it without any dressing @ only 340 Calories
  • Flavor drops. I like all Crush brand flavor drops, great value brand 'sweet' tea (no sugar in it), miyo (sp) drops, the dasani pineapple coconut drops are good too.
  • AHA! I knew there was some science behind it! Let's not talk about gas :s LOL. I want my stomach to reduce in size and stay small!!!!
  • I have to agree, I was addicted to it like Crack for real. I quit smoking a little over 3 years ago, I quit drinking any alcohol a little over 2 years ago. Whatever the case, if it stretches the stomach or not, I sure feel so much better now that I don't drink it. I always wanted to eat sugar & salt combo's, along with a…
  • That's the case for me too, the bloat. My stomach LOOKS different. And I've lost and gained weight several times in the past, but my stomach has never looked this much better (and I don't do crunches). I also think that carbonated beverages make me want to just EAT EAT EAT everything, I don't know why. But, since I've quit…
  • HAHAHHAHAHA
  • I might get shot for saying this, but I rely on lean cuisine's particularly for lunch. Some of them are a little high in sodium, but I do drink tons of water, and the other meals surrounding it are lower in sodium. All of them are good, but I am partial to spaghetti and meatballs.
