  • Not so, Travistocktoad, but you are welcome to your opinion. I still do not see where I said CICO was not required for weight loss. Interesting how people interpret according to their own agendas.
  • Only two seperate issues if one doesn't care about their health. If they do, then those issues go hand in hand, why does anyone try to lose weight? For their HEALTH! If they are doing it to get on the cover of Vogue, bad reason.
  • Cityruss, I am not going to dissect your response. If you don't understand where I'm coming from, that's fine. Fell free to ask questions. At no point did I say CICO was not a valid formula. Of course it is simple physics. My point is ALONE it is not NECESSARILY healthy and I read way to many comments on these forums…
  • If you use an activity tracker, does their software interface to MFP? I enter my activities like rowing and strength training in Garmin, which calculates calories burned and updates MFP. That is probably the easiest way.
  • I weigh myself everyday too, but I don't worry about small fluctuations. I weigh everyday to stay on track, because I find if I don't it is easy to slack off. Depends on the individual and what works for you. Weekly doesn't work for me because I could be on an up fluctuation day and would feel as if I was gaining weight,…
  • I have a Garmin Vivofit. Never take it off. Never needs charging. I change the band colour depending on what I'm wearing. MFP and Garmin apps synch nicely. The Vivofit isn't the fanciest tracker, but it suits me. For swimming I have a Poolmate. Really your choice depends on what you do and what you want to track. I can't…
  • Eat more. I aim for NET 1200 calories. I definitely eat to fuel my activity. Also deload. Do active resting for a week, then do something completely different when you come back.
  • Some people also have cardiovascular reactions to high levels of caffeine such as found in green tea extracts. I had pulpitations and elevated blood pressure after taking a green tea extract sports drink supplement. Couldn't complete my swim session, had to wait a while before driving home. Never touched it again.
  • Medications can cause weight gain indeed. I have found it is important to not give up though. Keep exercising and eating healthy so the impact is minimal and you maintain lean muscle mass. This will make it easier when rhe dosage is reduced. I was on a drug once that caused weight gain and it was 12 months after I stopped…
  • Ageee. Refereal to a gastroenterologist nay be best option and endoscopy. Heartburn is not to be treated lightly. Another here with experience.
  • Concentrate on lower body resistance. So squats, lunges, banded crab walks, wall sits, box jumps etc. If you are not already, see a physotherapist for the shoulder.
  • Adequate hydration is necessary for weight loss precisely because water is needed in order for the body to function optimally. If the body isn't functioning well, harder to lose weight. Plus fluid retention results. Having said that agree with above posters saying variable depending on climate, activity levels and body…
  • This is a very good guide for most people, however certain medications can discolour the urine, in which case the chart can be misleading, so be aware of the effects of your medications. Some dietary supplements can also discolour the urine.
