  • The same thing is happening to me, I don't know why it happens but I'm pretty sure its related to the exercise. Last year I lost +-27kg, I let myself go off the wagon and put about 13kg back in abouth as many months. Last year I was losing about a kilo a week eating around 1600 calories, wasn't doing any sort of exercise…
  • I walk 5-10 mins before and after. After this I usually do some basic stretching, especially after a long run. I find that if I don't stretch at least a wee bit, my legs more sore/stiff the day after compared to when I stretch a few mins.

  • Sounds fun, count me in :D
  • But you are a human being and as such you have the gift of reason. If you start craving sugars but you know you already had enough food for the day, then take a deep breath, count to 20 and don't eat them, carry on. If you really can't control yourself try finding a weight watchers or some other sort of group in your area…
  • My girlfriend, who is the only one I ever talk to about my weight loss (I'm still about 50lbs away from my goal, mind you) motivates me but I really don't need it. You need to do this for yourself, there is people that will cheer you up and others that... well, lets say its better to lose them along with the weight, so you…
  • You are not a failure, I'm sure a lot of us here have gone through the same self control and moderation issues you are having right now. The problem is, you have to make the switch and change for yourself, there is no other way around it. No one can help you if you are not willing to put the effort yourself. On my previous…

  • I'm currently at a 7% loss. Just started about a month ago. There will be about 29% less of me by goal weight
  • Don't quit! You can do it!!
  • Just avoiding carbs is not the answer. If you eat only fat and proteind and snack ten packs of pork scratchings a day you'll still gain weight. They key is simple, you need a calorie deficit. Yo need to see how many calories you use in a day and as long as your eat below that number you'll lose weight, no matter what you…
  • Exactly, that's why I started with "to me", because its only my opinion based on my experiences. On accountability, its what I end up saying that for me, having the diary as public is a way to being accountable to myself. That, along with measuring absolutely everything I eat, kind of proves me that I'm not hiding and that…
  • To me, having the diary closed is lying to yourself. Its like eating a piece of cake in hiding, when nobody can see you, so you can lie to yourself that you didn't cheat and act like nothing has happened... Of course putting everybody in the same bag and generalizing is wrong, not everybody is like that, but I know a fair…

  • I think I mentioned it in another thread, don't know if its in the one you are referring to. Low carbs or high carbs doesnt matter for weight loss, all that matters is CICO. Why some people are in denial regarding this I don't know... Now, I consider myself a low-carber. For the past couple of weeks I've been eating…
  • Are you following any specific running plan? I've just started C25K for the second time in my life. The first time I've done it many a year ago I found it pretty cool, simple to follow (and even simpler now with our beloved smarthpones). Its a great introductory program to running. At the time I stuck with it till the end,…
  • I simply log all raw ingredients by weight, but that's because I usually don't prepare multiple servings. If my girlfriend is eating with me, I simply double all ingredients and then split the final cooked recipe in half (I weight it, although that might be a little bit ocd). That's because I work from home, next week I…
  • Exactly, there is too much bulls**t around low carbs, people saying its magic and you don't have to restrict yourself with what you eat, that CICO doesn't apply for low carbers and such. I am currently eating low carbs but only because I found through experimentation that protein and fat is more filling for me than carbs.…
  • I always drink milk, mostly with my coffee. I also like having some cheese as a snack :)

  • Girl, your month is longer than mine, that's for sure :P
  • You'll laugh, but I'm learning Italian so I uploaded a bunch of Italian audio books to my phone and I only listen to them while exercising. For me that's motivational enough, otherwise I won't learn niente!
  • Howdy all, I'm in Edinburgh. Just started using this fantastic app last week. Feel free to add me :)
