I love this! Excellent advice that we all need and from a real person who really did it. Bravo.

Great job!

Thanks everyone!

Just a guess! Let her respond. ;)

Cut out all sugar. You're body is addicted to it.
-
Put a big chunk of money in an escrow account with instructions for it to go to a political group you disagree with if you don't lose your goal weight in a year.

Love C.S. reading Surprised by Joy now

I'm in. Late night bingeing did it. Having MFP helps tell me when I'm done eating for the day, otherwise I pig out. Adding.

Nothing at stake, how do you know? I realize the flock must be obeyed and followed at all cost, but a goal with a date is a big deal to some people. Even though I fell behind, I didn't want to miss my goal. Steaming off some pounds so the scale read that I met my goal was important to me, and the "success" actually helped…

At best, you read half of my post, enough for a straw man. Flock-obedience is irresistible, fine, but it's looking like many posters equate a steam bath to pill-diets. What level of shame do you foist on gastric surgery? There are many of those here too. Read full post before you claw your way to the rockpile. And stop…

Probably.

Wait, weren't you only here for the comments?
-
I heard there were some vicious bashers around here. Is this all you got??
-
Do you wear makeup?
-
Meh. Wasn't hard, and was twice as meaningful to me than faking my check in.

You win "triggeriest" reply! Me steaming off a few pounds to reach my goal may not be what triggered you. I think you saw the flock and knew you would get upvotes. I did what I did to be different from the masses who neither put dates on goals, nor set them in the first place. I hope you see the correlation to how many…

I spent 20 years facing the music when this close to a goal and choosing not to meet it. So little importance is placed on reaching a goal on a specific date, in deference to just putting it off.
-
Sorry! @Junedog1 did

I'd say attaining a goal, even if it's just a number on a scale for a day, acts as a catalyst to reinvigorate the overall journey. If it matters, I'm down 3 legit pounds from last week. My diary is open. =o]
-
If so, then every fighter who cuts for a weigh-in is also cheating, and thanks for calling me a liar. I was accountable to my goal. =o]
-
Congrats! That's 300 divided by two people, right?
-
@rnnr88 you got dis. It's just basic science/math. It's impossible, using a scale and counting calories, not to eventually lose weight.
-
If I could do college over I would totally re-assess my eating habits. For some reason because of all the stress of deadlines, hard work, reading, female distractions, I decided to gain about 40#.

Great job Pique!

Looking good!!! Don't make my mistake and celebrate with a day of gorging. It turned into a week, and 4 pounds. :D
-
Open your diary and let people see what you are eating. Be open to what you hear. Many people lose over 100 pounds on this site. They know what they're talking about. I do cardio 3-4 x a week and weigh all my food. Main thing is don't quit! =o]

Losing weight doesn't solve all your problems but it helps a lot to look in the mirror and feel a little better every day. You've come to the right place. Start logging in every day and read the success stories. Also search community for people with similar stories. When you're ready start keeping track of calories and…

Sure. Like the smile and curves.

Outstanding!

Katherine, what your WHY? What is the big reason that you can put on a poster or dry erase board in your room and see every day? Don't answer that - it's private and you can share later if you want. With a big, clear WHY, the journey will become less scary and you won't have to bear daily failures. A big picture helps you…
