  • Go to my profile. A few incomplete days but it's all open to see.
  • I wouldn't say eliminated, but bread I have cut from my diet considerably. So many empty calories in a sandwich for me now. I had one the other day out of laziness and wasn't satisfied in the slightest. I used to have at least a couple sandwiches for lunch a day. Bread was always my go to food. Damn bread.
  • Definitely achievable. I'm up to 38lb in about 9 weeks. I'm 6'2" and started at 336lbs. As long as you stick to it, it seems to just fall off. Even when keeping to the MFC calories I always seem to lose a minimum of 2lb a week. Sometimes as much as 4/5lb. Keep it up!
  • When I first started I had constant headaches for the first 10 days or so. I drank plenty of water and could never really pinpoint the cause of the problem. Maybe a complete coincidence? Not sure. But it was very unusual.
  • Maybe try and plan what meals you're going to have for the few days ahead. That way you don't get any nasty surprises and can adjust it in advanced.
  • I've just googled it.. The 'Harris Benedict Formula' uses a multiplication factor based of the level of daily activity. "If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2 If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375 If you are moderatetely…
  • Now that is something I can happily live by haha.
  • +1 for those nude Saturday mornings after going to the toilet.
  • THIS. As I've started losing and people started commenting it makes you realise how much people notice things like body weight change so quickly. At first I hated it, but then very quickly got over and it and now couldn't care less. It's all positive attention anyway. I normally give a witty answer to how I'm achieving it,…
  • Started at 336lb 8 weeks ago. Now down to 303lb. 266lb (19 stone) by Christmas is my next goal. From there, smash it down to 200lb..ish.
  • I think it depends on the person. Some people will just say "you're losing weight" etc. Where as others seem to avoid the weight and comment on something else. And the rest are either blind or stupid...
  • Week one I lost 11lb, two 7lb and now down to 2lb a week the last couple of weeks.
  • I find that anything that measures exercise inflates the calories burned in general so I never bother worrying about them and just use it for fitness as opposed to burning calories as the goal. I lost 11lb in my first week and then settled down to 2lb eating my daily goal with a 2lb deficit after a couple more weeks.
  • I work 5pm to 5am. I'll get up around 2pm and have big lunch, have dinner around 10pm with plenty of healthy snacks and water in between. At about 3am when I'm struggling I'll have some porridge which sees me through till 7am bed time and doesn't leave me feeling too hungry when I get up. The hardest part is when your…
  • This is very true. Wouldn't it all be relative though? If I cycled on a road for 40 minutes with wind resistance I wouldn't be cycling as fast or as hard as I am on the static. If I was doing 40 minutes at the same intensity as the static bike then yes, the calories would be very different.
  • Thanks Aussie. That makes a lot of sense. I'm logging absolutely everything I eat and all the exercise so it should be fairly easy to get to grips with.
  • Thanks WaterBunnie. The effort I'm putting in is quite high I feel. My bike goes from 1 to 15 and I use 9 and always try to maintain 80rpm. I'm going to try the varied difficulty programs soon and see how I fare with them. First day I managed 15km in 40 minutes, now I'm doing 18-19km in 40 minutes and maybe a couple rides…
  • Okay that makes more sense. I'll base it from next weeks weight and go from there. Thanks all! Haha thankfully, no. I'm well aware of the importance of meeting my deficit. I have a lot of weight to lose but I'm not trying to do it overnight. I kept it a couple hundred under before I started exercising just to get the ball…
  • I just used another calculator using a resting heart rate VO2 and the calories burned came back fairly similar. That's what I've got for today, I've gone 240 calories into the extra calories earned. My deficit is my concern purely because the only calorie burn I have, I don't trust very much. This is my first week of using…
  • Well I'm averaging around 27km/h for 40 minutes with a 165bpm average heart rate. I'm 23, 6' 2" and 324lbs. Like I said, it hasnt got to perfect. Just enough to balance the books. The MFP numbers are definitely ridiculous. I'm not eating any of the calories back atm. 1. I don't trust the amount I'm burning. 2. I'm just not…
  • Just thought I'd report back after my first week and my first weigh in.. 325lb so a 11lb loss in 9 days which has got me pretty happy as you could imagine. It's a fair amount but with everything that was talked about above I'm not too concerned about it being excessive in these early stages. I'm also finding it easier to…
  • I'm going to look at making some nut butter flapjacks I think. I already do 50g of nuts a day and, like you, have got em ready and separated so I can just grab and go. That's definitely my plan. I'm feeling good right now. I think I'll save my first weigh in for Saturday morning when I get up and hopefully all will be…
  • Today is my first day of logged exercise which was on the exercise bike. Managed a solid 40 minutes which I was chuffed with. I'll maintain that 40 minutes a day and hopefully I'll see my mileage increase over time. I will make recipes for proper meals when I step up to them but for now I pretty much have a look in the…
  • My work bring in people for a yearly medical for all staff which is handy. They're pretty good and will always recommened seeing a doctor if they see anything abnormal. My last proper doctors visit was about three months ago and another medical should be done before the end of the year. I do need a go to food which is high…
  • My exercise bike and weights arrived and naturally, I built in and took it for a spin.. without actually setting up the calorie counter/units/etc. The chest strap heart rate monitor seems to be fairly consistent so I'll take that as gospel just for the sake of calorie calculations. Do I want to enter a net or gross burn?…
  • That's the thing I'm finding at the moment. I'm eating plentiful and regularly and feeling great for it. Also for all those days that i'm under, there will always be days where I'm over or fancy indulging in something which can make up for it in some respects. Thanks for those, I'll definitely have a look. With regards to…
  • Ordered from there for the first time the other day. 2x2.5k of the premium chicken breast. Will definitely be ordering again. Minimal waste on the meat and tastes delicious. Packaging is very good also, just remember to divide it into portions before freezing. Will definitely be ordering various more meats shortly!
