I was just reading in another thread about someones doctor recommending a lower calorie intake than what MFP was suggesting.
I thought I'd calculate mine on a different website to see what it comes up as an maintenance says 2700, which at my 2lb a week would be 1700. MFP currently puts me at 2090 a day which is quite a considerable difference.
Should I worry about this? I know MFP counts activity level towards its calculations too. I'm also not struggling losing weight.

If your maintenance is 2700 - to lose 1-2lb per week, you should be eating around 2200 (This is your exercise included, so you wouldn't need to 'eat those back'). MFP has you as 2090 assuming you'll eat 50% of your exercise calories - is this right, everyone?

If you are losing weight at 2090 then I would continue with this number. He who eats the most while still losing weight is the winner.

Now that is something I can happily live by haha.

I've just googled it.. The 'Harris Benedict Formula' uses a multiplication factor based of the level of daily activity.

"If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
    If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
    If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
    If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9"

    So that explains that.

No, MFP assumes you won't exercise at all or eat any of them back. The deficit is built into your number.
To maintain my current weight I would get 2500 calories, MFP has me set for 2lb weight loss at 1500 calories. I don't have to exercise at all and can expect to lose on average 2lbs a week. Given my logging is air tight!

OP did you pick 1.5 lbs a week to lose? Maybe check your settings and you accidentally picked wrong.
