Hi I'm 48 and the weight just doesn't move like it did a few years ago. Need to drop about 12lbs but keep stalling at about 5. Very frustrating when you're watching all you eat and exercise each day. However I won't give in this time. Friend request sent

Hi Sarah, living in Dublin. Trying to lose about 12 lbs and tighten up in general. Friend request sent☺
-
Same as above. Log everything you eat. Its amazing how many calories you eat that you're unaware of. Friend request sent☺

Hi Julie, stay positive and you'll do great. Friend request sent☺

Similar position. In my forties and saw weight pile on over the last 3 yrs. Healthy eating and a bit of exercise is my approach too. Stay motivated and don't give up☺
-
Yep trying to lose about 10 -12 lbs. I think when you only have a smallish amount to lose it comes off very slowly and you need others to motivate you!

Menopausal myself and find that the 10lbs I could lose easily a few years ago have become stubborn. My calorie intake is 1350 and I find it difficult sometimes to stick to it. Weight is slow to move so I'm concentrating on really reducing my sugar intake. Will add you:-)

thorsmom01 is right!! You'd be surprised at how much more you're eating than you realise. I started weighing food and was shocked at how many more calories I was consuming that I thought.

Hi, I'm 48 and definitely found over the last few years the middle age spread taking over. Finding it more difficult that it use to be to lose a few pounds.
-
Well done, keep up the good work!!
-
Hi, same here. Late forties and finding it difficult to lose weight around my middle. Sticking to 1350 calories a day and exercising but nothings shifting!
-
Hi, well done on the loss. Fighting to lose the stone in weight I've gained over the last few years.
-
Hi Karen, 48 myself and determined to lose the stone I've gained over the last few years.

Hi, what is the military diet, I've never heard of that! Well done on the loss :-)
-
Hi just about to give low carbs a bash, never tried it before! Friend request sent

Hi, try to get into a habit of weighing your portions of you don't already. I was eating twice what I thought I was. Exercise is great but only when combined with good eating☺
-
Well done. Considering try a low carb diet myself. Never tried it before. Friend request sent☺

Hi, I'm from Ireland. I think counting your calories and weighing portions is the only way to know what you're putting into your body and keeping track of that is key to losing the weight. I read that exercise alone won't get weight off if you're not eating the right foods and in the right amount. I only recently starting…
-
Weighing is important. You'd be surprised how much more you're eating than you think! I started weighing 3 weeks ago and was stumped to find my breakfast cereal was almost twice the size I thought it was. No wonder my weight wouldn't shift!
-
Hi, same here. I don't think of myself as overweight but the mirror and the scales tell a different story! I make it to week 3 or 4 and when I'm not seeing much weight loss I lose heart and give in! This time I'm gonna stick it out☺
-
Oh that's so sweet ☺ having something like that is great motivation.
-
Into my second week of MFP and so far so good. Keeping under my calorie goal and working out 5/7 days ☺
-
Yes as above, weigh your portions. I was eating almost twice as much cereal as I thought I was, oops! I took photos too of myself to compare over the weeks. Like yourself in trying to lose about 12 lbs. I started at 145 and it may not seem heavy to some but I was 112 lbs back when I was 30 so for me it's a big gain.
-
Hi, please don't give up. I've done that lots of times. It's usually around week 3 or 4 when I seem to gain a bit and I start thinking " what's the point of this if I'm gaining". Well this time I'm determined to pass that point and carry on even more determined. You've done great so far, don't let it beat you!
-
Hi, looking to lose about 12 lbs myself to get to 135 lbs by summer. Nothing like someone suggesting pregnancy to get you motivated!! Good luck :-)
