I usually sauté my veggies in a pan just to get a little bit of color on them, then add a splash of chicken broth to the pan, cover, and let them steam until they're cooked to my liking. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne or Old Bay seasoning.. yum! :)

Yay!! That's definitely a success and a great feeling I bet! Keep up the good work :)

My goal is to get down into my healthy BMI range (about 120-125 lbs), then work on building muscle and getting my body fat % down a bit. I'm in a wedding next year and I plan on looking fabulous! :)

I'm in school studying to be a registered dietitian. My motivation is not wanting to be an overweight dietitian trying to explain to a patient why being overweight is unhealthy. Also, I'm pretty vain myself and don't like the way I look when I have some weight on me. You have to figure out why you want to do this for…

Snacks I eat regularly: - Popcorn popped in a bit of coconut oil and sprinkled with salt and Old Bay seasoning - Fage 2% Greek yogurt with diced strawberries, a tsp of peanut butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon - Sliced apple dipped in some Greek yogurt and peanut butter - Sliced banana with almond butter - Dark chocolate…

This looks amazing! So simple and healthy :)

Spanish chicken and potatoes was on the menu tonight, served with steamed green beans.. SO delicious!

Yum, that looks tasty! I love Indian cuisine too :)

Hate when that happens!

It's all a mind game.. you just have to keep fighting for it. One day something just clicked and I was ready/had the determination I needed to lose weight. But I've hit MANY bumps.. you just can't let it bring you down. Yesterday was my sister's birthday and I ate almost 2,000 calories over my goal. Today, I started my day…

This is said perfectly!

I eat a little less, but my diary is public. Feel free to take a look :)

The loss of muscle is known as muscular atrophy and could cause you serious issues in your later years. You want to keep/build up your muscles in your youth to help with mobility when you are older. I also have very muscular/bulky thighs and I've learned to love them. I know that's not the easiest thing to do, but you were…

I don't know about losing weight fast.. you should aim for 1-2 lbs/week. But, I workout at home and use the 21 Day Fix DVDs, some yoga and pilates DVDs, plus I run, hike, and kayak when the weather permits. Autumn Calabrese has some great workouts on YouTube as well. The Nike Training app is really good too!

Why are you trying to lose muscle from your legs?

No problem, @chloeelizabethm ! I usually have them with broccoli or spinach and some sweet potato or brown rice, but creamed corn sounds like it would be delicious too! I've also thrown them on top of a salad or just eat them as a snack if I need a little more protein :)
-
Yes, they're amazing!! @chloeelizabethm http://www.canyoustayfordinner.com/2011/01/17/coconut-crusted-chicken-tenders/ I used this recipe for the oven temp/cooking time, but I significantly reduced the calories by literally only using the chicken breast, coconut oil cooking spray, and unsweetened coconut. I just cut the…

I tend to make baked honey-soy chicken, parmesan greek yogurt chicken, coconut chicken tenders, lightened-up shrimp scampi, broiled haddock, taco casserole, and asian-style ground chicken quite a bit. Those are all my go-tos that are easy to make and hard to get sick of, for me anyways :)

I've been struggling for several weeks now after doing so well for 4 months, but I'm just trudging through and doing the best I can. I bumped my calorie intake up by 200 calories to see if that helps with hunger and being able to fit a few treats in that I'm craving. Hang in there, you can do it!
-
That looks delicious!! I just pinned it to make next week.. thanks for sharing :)

I've used cauliflower to make a creamy "alfredo-style" sauce and it was actually delicious! You could swap out the white pasta for whole wheat pasta, zucchini noodles, or spaghetti squash.

I have 3 I like, depending on what my needs are for that day.. Larabars, Kind Bars, and Oatmega. No one has mentioned Oatmega bars yet, but they're so good! Great ingredients, 190 kcal, 14 g protein, 7 g fiber, 5 g sugar, 7 g total fat and 21 g total carbs. They use grass-fed whey protein and you get the extra benefit of…

Maybe bump up your calories to maintain for a few days until you're feeling well again? That would allow you to eat a bit more, get the proper nutrition you need to become healthy again, and not gain weight.
-
Unfortunately, no :( lmao it's worth it though for how much better it makes me feel

Unless you have a medical reason to carefully watch your sodium intake or are worried about a little bloating/water retention, I wouldn't stress about it too much. Do you eat a lot of processed foods that contain a lot of sodium? I try to minimize the amount of processed foods I eat, buy low sodium when available, and try…

I'm in! :)

Cinnamon, a teaspoon each of honey and peanut butter, 2 tbsp of flax milk, and 10gm of vanilla protein powder.. I look forward to it every morning :)

Lately, I've been using MRM veggie protein powder and I think it tastes pretty good. The consistency is definitely more grainy than the whey proteins I've tried, but I have a bad reaction to whey and can't drink it. I mix this veggie protein into my morning oatmeal and don't even notice it!

If you have that much trouble sticking to a calorie deficit and healthy lifestyle change without binge eating, I suggest talking to your doctor about seeing a dietician and perhaps even a therapist for the binging (if it's emotional). They might be able to help you work through some issues so you feel strong enough to…

Same here. I actually got a migraine after eating a (pretty big) cupcake at a baby shower recently.. it was terrible (the migraine, not the cupcake lol). It was so sweet though and I knew I would regret it as soon as I tasted it.
