  • I was told to expect this during my pre-surgery psych sessions. It was suggested that I take a lot of pictures because it might be easier for my brain to accept this transition if there are progression photos to view. The interesting part is that I seem to be having the exact opposite experience. I've lost 115 lbs and I…
  • I love my 32 oz CamelBak Chute water bottle. Two of those a day and I'm gold. And no straw! Just a mouth shaped spout for drinking.
  • I took the third week off for several reasons: 1) a friend in my office had the same surgery and said he wished he had taken 3 weeks. He was so tired he ended up using vacation days to take half days off on week 3. 2) if hospitalized my company allows up to 6 weeks paid leave for a procedure like this. So I took 3. 3). I…
  • I'm almost five months out and I'm 87 lbs down since my initial surgical consultation. Here are my weight loss positives... -- heels! -- working all day and still having the energy to work out when I get home. -- fitting into chairs with arms! -- fitting into booths at the restaurant! -- crossing my legs (I was just able…

Sometimes I willl fix a bowl of something and eat maybe three or four bites…
  • Mine's been less predictable since surgery. Normally I'm a Swiss watch and P tracker predicts my start date with a 2 day +\-. After surgery it came 10 days early! And then the next one was 6 days late. Like everything else, I suppose our reproductive system has to recalibrate.
  • My nutritionist said you should wait a minimum of 42 days post surgery before venturing to salad. On day 43 I had a small spring mix salad and chewed really well -- man, did that hit the spot! If you try and have problems, give your stomach more time and try again in a few weeks.
  • Same here. I was sleeved March 23 -- so I'm just a few weeks behind you. I stalled for two weeks after progressing to puréed food. I've lost steadily the last few weeks but then went up a pound this week. I think the body occasionally tries to course correct. I choose to try not to get so tied to the number on the scale.
  • Peppermint tea! I find that works very well.
