My own reflection. At one point I saw myself in the mirror and was disgusted. I bought a scale and was distraught. Then I decided I was never going to see that person and that number on the scale ever again.

- Margarine is better than butter (yay for trans fats I guess..) - Detox (does anyone even believe this? Peeing more does not help you "get rid of toxins") - Exercising off ALL the calories you eat (Good luck keeping that up!)

Continue my life? Idk, right now I just want to be healthier (I already lost most of my weight) and I feel like setting a super clear goal would make me feel like I could be "Done". I'll never be done with my struggle for health.. But I might do a happy dance for all the small milestones along the way.

JFT: - Don't binge, no matter how stressful the day gets - Cook for the rest of the week - Relax

I live in the UK (Bath ftw!), not originally from the UK though. ;-)

I'm 24 and not yet. I've seen what alcohol can do and I don't like the smell of it so I stay away from it, haha!

I only had some basic swimming lessons when I was a kid so I only know the "head above water" breaststroke. But currently I can do 1500 meters in 45 minutes with only a stop every 500 meters. And my endurance is much much better! Don't go at your maximum pace immediately though, swimming as an exercise is more of a…

MFP tend to really overestimate the amount of calories you burn during exercise. Try sticking with eating half of those calories back and see if that leaves you hungry or not.

Lastly, how you can look in a mirror and just admire and poke not only bones (collar bones are amazing), but also muscles. My calves have such defined muscles!

Some friends or family members may get jealous once you pass them in terms of weight. For example, I avoid talking about my weight loss success with my sister because she's unhappy with her weight (she used to be "the skinny one") and her jealousy makes me really uncomfortable. Not uncomfortable enough to go back to being…

How suddenly walking on heels is a lot less painful! So much less pressure on those joints! How your mind doesn't catch up for a looooong time until suddenly you look in the mirror and feel like you lost all your weight in one day. I had that day, it was weird! I suddenly hardly recognised myself. :open_mouth:

Sometimes it's even just yourself you need to prove wrong. That was it for me. I thought I'd always be the fat friend/sister. And now I'm proving to myself that that is plain *kitten*.

Honestly, for me going cold turkey never worked. I just end up binging and eat everything that is 'forbidden'. What worked for me was to say "I can eat anything I want as long as I stick to my calorie goal". Since most junk food are really calorific sticking to your calorie goal means that another concept that comes into…

People always think I'm an extravert because I'm chatty, but I'm actually an introvert. Socialising is fun, but drains the crap out of me and I spend most of my evenings/weekends alone. By choice. ;-) Feel free to add me!

Just for today; 1. Keep to my calorie target 2. Walk up the hill to work without stopping 3. Swim 1km 4. Do pilates 5. No snacks from the machine 6. Reach 12000 steps. So far so good! :D
-
Sure add me! I'm 24 years old and lost 20kg so far (and have at least 7 to go). I've been in a rough patch lately, so some friends would be nice. ;-)

Hi guys! I'm 25, 5'7" and I lost 19 kg so far. I'd love to lose 7 more so I can get to 64 kg. Please add me!

It's okay! Everyone slips up every once in a while. The important thing is not to let it get you down (for long at least). Keep your goal in mind! And you did have 11 good days! ;)

Feel free to add me! I need some accountability. o:)

Dark chocolate sounds like a good tip! I get chocolate cravings all the time.. And potato chips. Also, I think I may have to pick a crafty hobby back up. When your hands are busy, its quite difficult to snack, haha! I think for me it's a mix of loneliness (haven't made many friends here yet) and boredom. And going to the…

I also struggle with CFS and I think the main point for me was to exercise within my limitations. No I don't do fitness, or "sports" really. I walk to work (uphill!). I do pilates. I swim. And for all of those I found that slow but steady works for me. But yes, not being able to burn hundreds of calories extra a week means…

Congratulations! It's interesting how the mind plays catch up isn't it? You sort of imagine extra pounds until one day you look in the mirror and actually see! Keep up the good work (mentally as well)!

Honestly, asking for help before you binge means you're on the right track. You're doing better than me at least.. :s Are you perhaps bored when you want to binge? That tends to be one of my triggers.

Thank you for your reply! I definitely feel like the move sort of reset my eating behaviors to what it was before I lost weight. But with going home I meant from work. At work I just have the food I bring with me, and that's pretty much on point. But when I have an afternoon/evening on the couch? Oh boyy... It just gets so…

I hadn't been on a scale in several years and I knew I had gained quite some weight (slowly but surely), but when I saw the numbers on my newly bought scale I couldn't believe it. I actually checked whether or not was calibrated properly with some pots. Unfortunately it was accurate. :bawling:
