Oh my gosh yes! A lot of this, I have been super emotional about it lately! I hit 80lbs lost and Onederland in January. I cried the morning my scale read 199.8lbs. Then in February I hit 90lbs lost and finally left the Obese category. Now I'm like 2 1/2lbs from reaching my -100lb mark and I sort of feel this manic excitement. Goal weight is in sight, then transitioning to maintenance begins and I'm scared but excited. I had no idea it would be so emotional and the only people who really understand are the ones that go through it! I'm going to friend you!

I find it strange though when some people look at me like "what is she doing?" They're probably the same people who just drop their trash where they want to.

It is very emotional, luckily I have some super supportive friends that listened to me and encouraged the excitement. However, I agree with you that the only people that truly understand how emotional it is are the ones who have done it. That said, when I reached the 100lb lost, it was very uneventful. I lost about 9lbs in 5 days because I was sick. I'll take it though4 -

I lost 50 pound 12 to 18 months ago and have kept it off. Blood pressure back to normal.
It's ok to put 3 or 4 back on at Christmas, holidays (at Daydream Island now ) and birthdays because you know you can lose it again doing the same things as before. Cheers2 -

How suddenly walking on heels is a lot less painful! So much less pressure on those joints!
How your mind doesn't catch up for a looooong time until suddenly you look in the mirror and feel like you lost all your weight in one day. I had that day, it was weird! I suddenly hardly recognised myself.1 -
Some friends or family members may get jealous once you pass them in terms of weight. For example, I avoid talking about my weight loss success with my sister because she's unhappy with her weight (she used to be "the skinny one") and her jealousy makes me really uncomfortable. Not uncomfortable enough to go back to being "the fat one" though! NEVERR.7

Lastly, how you can look in a mirror and just admire and poke not only bones (collar bones are amazing), but also muscles. My calves have such defined muscles!1

I get excited to exercise and run in new places.
So when I go on vacation or visit a friend in a different state or city and it's time for me to work out, I get really excited!2 -

That suddenly, even though they are shrinking, my boobs look so much bigger now that they stick out over my ever smaller belly! And my belly, while still jiggly and jello like, appears nearly flat in clothes.5

Yes! I've noticed it a lot more recently. Partly because there's less weight in my belly and it's not making me hunch over, but also there's a big increase in confidence.
The fun of showing new interns at work my "before" pictures. They didn't see me 100+ lbs ago.2 -

I am surprised too that my close friend will not acknowledge my weight loss, but many people that I go to spin class have commented numerous times. I even got a compliment from a guy in the gym that my husband works with telling me that I look great and asking what diet I have been following. I refuse to follow any fad diet and care more about my health than being skinny!
I have lost about 20 lbs over the last year mostly by trying to eat better and eat less, logging everything in MFP and doing spin class 3 times a week. I started weight training with a personal trainer 3 weeks ago going 3 times per week. I am hoping to shed some weight and fat since I have been stuck at the same weight for a couple of months. I haven't lost weight in these past three weeks but I have lost inches (mostly around my stomach!) My trainer told me to be patient, the weight will come off if I continue doing what I am doing. I just want to get under 200 lbs (about 30 lbs to go)!
With all the exercise, I am seeing that I am shrinking and toning up. I feel fantastic and like looking at myself in the mirror! I love the that I feel strong and fit. I keep checking out my butt to see if I have less dimples lol.6 -

I used to wash clothes on cold water setting and hang dry so they wouldn't shrink. Now I have some I'm washing on hot and drying on high setting to TRY to get them to shrink11

There will be friends and family who try sabotage your hard work and weight loss. For an example...I am an ice cream addict. People say well just have an ice cream bar....would you tell an alcoholic to just have a shot or little bit? NO...people just don't get it. I lived most of my life thinking a 1/2 gallon was an individual serving.7

Yeah. It's an adjustment, for sure. I struggle with a little bit of resentment over the sudden interest and attention, much of it from men that wouldn't have given me the time of day a year ago. I am every bit as self contained and reserved as I was a year ago, but almost inexplicably more visible. Except that there is an explanation; I am now an "acceptable" size.
I'm not even done with the weight loss portion of the journey, either. I've got about 30 pounds left to go before maintenance.
It's not necessarily a bad thing, and I honestly don't mind being more visible, but I had gotten very used to being invisible. There is a certain amount of safety and comfort in being invisible that I'm slowly losing along with the weight.9 -

I was just telling my husband last night that we don't have to keep the heat up as high overnight because I'm not getting as cold at night.
I'm within 5-10 pounds of my goal and have been purpously losing very slowly all along. I'm hoping my body is finally getting used to its smaller size.2 -

I agree. All the attention from other people can get a little unnerving at times. I kinda miss my anonymity in large crowds.
People asking for advice all the time... and not liking the answer. Diet + exercise = healthy bod2 -
That I'd be passionate about a physical activity; one that I kept putting off for a year because I was so self conscious about my weight. Now, though, I relish the time I spend during class and open mat drilling jiu-jitsu. I just don't feel like I ever get enough time to practice!
Or that there'd come a time where I'd be able to see the end of the road, even twenty-eight pounds out from goal. I can see the outline of the body I've always wanted and I'm so psyched about it.5
