  • I'm down 57 lbs and I eat pretty much everything. I could eat nothing but McDonalds and Pizza Hut and still lose weight as long as I'm eating at a deficit. The only reason I choose not to is because 1) healthy foods make me feel better, 2) they're *usually* less calorie dense which allows me to eat more, and 3) they have a…
  • Peppermint Gingermint (ginter + peppermint) Lemon Zinger
  • Women don't like bald-headed men? Welp, that's news to me. I've personally never heard any woman say that, but I suppose that you--being bald and all--would know better than I. I personally don't care. Well, that's not true. I think it's really weird when a guy is completely bald on top but has hair on the sides of his…
  • The time is going to pass anyway, so make choices that you're going to regret the least.
  • I lost 50 lbs in about 4.5 months at the start of my journey, but my starting weight was 324 lbs. It's possible if you have a loooot of weight to lose (150 lbs+), but I wouldn't count on it happening if you've only got the 50 lbs to lose.
  • Just received mine an hour ago! https://www.fitbit.com/user/4FP5LM
  • Ok, so I used to do C25K. I started when I was 255 lbs (5'8.5") and the first week was hell. I struggled to jog for 60 secs, and couldn't even finish the first day. But I kept going, and I got better. It took me 1.5 months to move on to Week 2 because I just didn't feel ready. Week 2 was definitely easier. You just have to…
  • Dark chocolate, Greek Yogurt, frozen fruits, fresh fruits, fruit and veggie smoothies, chocolate milk (w/ skim milk), oatmeal (esp. Quaker Instant Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal), etc. I also eat peppermint balls a lot, because one has only 20 calories and I can suck on that thing for approx. 30 mins. Jolly Ranchers too, though…
  • 1) I wanted to be healthy. At my heaviest, I was starting to get extremely sick, and I guess I reached a point where I was honestly scared for myself. 2) I wanted to think clearly again. I don't know if it was because of depression, or sickness, or what, but for a while I just couldn't think, or concentrate. My head…
  • Hi! I was in a similar situation--was consistent from May to November, then totally fell off the wagon until February (though I didn't start counting and using MFP again until early March). I have SAD, and that, in conjunction with typical holiday eating, a cancer scare from my mom, and stress, resulted in some weight gain…
  • This. Unless you really want to like them for whatever reason, in which case you should just keep experimenting with different brands/ingredients. Have you tried Quaker's Instant Oatmeal? That's my go-to oatmeal when I'm feeling lazy. The apple-cinnamon one is to die for (I love adding blueberries!). Seriously though, OP.…
  • ^ This. Just don't do it to yourself. I spent a whole year being paranoid and irrationally critical of everyone's motives because I kept obsessing over conspiracy theories. I don't think they're all bullcrap or anything like that, but the less I dwell on such things, the more my sanity remains intact.
  • Lilo & Stitch (that so counts)
  • Also 5'8.5", and my goal is 150 lbs. I might readjust that goal the closer I get to it, though.
  • No idea. I have skim-milk pretty regularly (usually in oatmeal). I've read a lot of discussions about how it's not good for us, how we're essentially drinking another species' breast milk, blahblahblah, but I pretty much ignore such things. I eat/drink what I like (within reason). And I like milk in my oatmeal. (And hot…
  • My eyes. The color isn't very unique, but they're big and they have a nice shape, and they look gorgeous when the light hits them just so. I also love my smile. And my hands. And my feet. I love my hair sometimes, haha. It largely depends on how stubborn it's being. ETA: Oh, you said one. Whoops. :p
  • Gender: Female (24) Height: 5'8.5" Starting Weight: 324 lbs Current Weight: 269 lbs Long term goal: 150 lbs Exercise: Walking + Cardio. I don't really have a routine. Eventually I'd like to start weight training. Diet: I aim to eat healthy 80% of the time. The remaining 20%, I pretty much eat whatever.
  • This was so inspiring! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, and congratulations for your amazing success!
  • I buy a bag of Hershey's Bliss Dark Chocolate, eat a lot of red meat, consume copious amounts of ibuprofen and water, and spend way more time sleeping. (I don't eat over my calorie goal, though.) I usually exercise less, too. It depends on how bearable the cramping is (not stomach cramping--that other cramping) and how…
  • ...Okay then.
  • Omg, let's be friends! You sound super awesome! My name is Meg, I started at 325 lbs, am now about 270 lbs, and my goal is 150 lbs. I'm 5'8.5". We could definitely motivate each other! Same here! Well, except I'm all for the trendy hipster looking beards and I've never played Mass Effect, haha! I'm totally into HP, DW,…
  • This is such a fantastic post, and I can't tell you how much I needed it right now. I was consistent for 6.5 months, lost 62 lbs, and then I fell off the wagon and in a span of 3 months regained 20 lbs. I just got back on track mid-February (down 15 lbs now, still so far to go) and I'm trying to get back the perspective I…
  • Oh, same here! I was on the metro yesterday and was able to practically fly up the stairs! I mean, I got a little winded towards the end, but I was able to recover after a few seconds as opposed to the minutes it would have taken me before! I can't wait to be able to climb several staircases easily!
  • I can walk for several miles without getting winded or suffering from pretty severe back/side/knee/ankle/foot pain. There's other stuff, but that's one of the most important ones for me, because when I started I couldn't even walk two blocks without feeling like I was going to die.
