  • I've also done a pasta salad: whole wheat penne pasta, diced grilled chicken breast, chopped bell pepper & onion, and a little basil. Toss with light italian dressing and parmesan cheese. Keep it in the lunch box with ice packs. Makes a hearty, filling lunch.
  • I LOVE the new Superfood Side that Chick-fil-A has on their menu that has kale in it. I was able to find a copycat recipe online. This recipe taste just slightly different but I still love it. If I can't find broccolini I just use broccoli. Chick-fil-A Superfood Side 4 cups kale, loosely chopped or torn Maple vinaigrette ,…
  • I couldn't do it but I ran my first Ragnar this past May in Tennessee and it was so much fun!!! I put together a team to run the TN Ragnar again in March 2017 but am currently out of running / exercise in general due to a torn hamstring. I hope you can gather a team and that you all have as much fun as our team did! It was…
  • Definitely this ^^^^^
  • I will often cook one meat and use it for multiple meals: I'll cook a roast in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots. The first meal will be just that with a vegetable added. Leftover roast will be used for french dip sandwiches and add some mexican style seasonings to the meat when I reheat for another meal made into…
  • I'm not a vegetarian but I like to eat meatless meals several times a week. Here's a few things I like for lunch: burrito bowls made with quinoa, black beans, roasted red pepper, corn, purple onion, lettuce, salsa & plain greek yogurt (in place of sour cream) veggie wrap with hummus for the spread, peppers, onions,…
  • My favorite frozen pizza is Palermo's bacon, spinach and feta: http://www.palermospizza.com/our-pizza/primo-thin/uncured-bacon-spinach-feta-pizza.
  • My husband gets them all the time. He's passed 40+ and had sx 4-5 times to remove them. Nothing at home helps. You can drink a lot of water to help your chances of passing it but it won't help the pain. Go to the doctor so they can determine if it's too big to pass. The ER usually gives him a strong RX pain med and sends…
  • I have used https://www.fitnessblender.com/ and http://darebee.com/ for at home workouts or workouts when I travel. I especially like Darabee because I have found a lot of no equipment/body weight workouts to choose from. They are HIIT style workouts that get in your cardio and your strength simultaneously. I am currently…
  • I pack pre-measured snacks also. For workouts, I'll fit in walks/runs as I can and Darebee.com has some great workout printables and many of them are body weight exercises so there is no equipment needed. This summer when we went on vacation, I printed several of those workouts to follow while we were gone. I'll also…
  • I like to try to get vegetables in at every meal, including breakfast. Here's a breakfast recipe I use that "hides" zuchinni and is yummy: http://iowagirleats.com/2012/02/16/mini-ham-cheese-quinoa-cups/ Also, here's a different take on tater tots, using cauliflower. I really enjoyed these! While there are several steps in…
  • For me they are not overrated. I believe the barbell squats I do as part of my workouts have contributed to my being able to run better, specifically hills. I am a 48 year old, 125 lb, grandma who regularly squats 105 lb. and sometimes maxes out at 125 lb that loves to run! That's not earth shattering but I'm proud of it!
  • I am a terrible morning person but have been working out in the mornings before work a lot in the last couple of months. Positives for me: more energy during the day my evenings are free for other things it's not as hot that time of the day for the days I run (I live in South Alabama so after work runs are miserable) I…
  • Yes, it's definitely doable. Having a goal to get faster is great and pushing yourself to an extent is ok but be careful not to push too fast, too quick and don't over train. You will get injured! It happened to me and I was sidelined from running for several years. Find a training plan and follow it and don't make running…
  • Cool! I never thought of it that way. 175,000 for me.

  • I would love any tips/suggestions you can pass my way. Thanks!
  • This is exactly part of why I'm looking forward to running there. Thanks so much for the encouragement!
  • Thanks for the help!!!
  • I dropped a size about every 10 lbs. I lost 50 lbs. and went from a 14 to a 4.
  • I don't do mornings very well so I am a quick grab and go breakfast gal. About once every two weeks I spend an hour or so doing breakfast food prep for the next couple of weeks so I can just grab, heat in the microwave if needed, and go. Here's my go-to breakfast meals: Peanut Butter and Banana Overnight oats (these are…
  • I have had issues with the app not adding my recipes. When I add it from my laptop it seems to work, which is frustrating when I only have access to my phone.
  • ^^ What geogirl0626 said...fitnessblender.com...a great at home workout.
  • I would love some more MFP friends. I have lost 50 lb. and am in maintenance now (for 4 months). I lost the weight once before and gained it all back plus some. This time I'm determined to keep it off! Encouragement from others to keep on keeping on would be great!
  • These black bean and spinach quessadillas are delicious. I keep them in the freezer too for quick heat and eat meals. http://blog.myfitnesspal.com/black-bean-spinach-quesadilla/

  • What a great accomplishment! Congrats!
  • The weight loss itself did help me to feel better and more confident but most definitely the strength and toning was probably the biggest confidence booster. Because of the amount of weight I carried for the amount of time I carried it and my age, my skin didn't bounce back very well and the little bit of extra muscle…
