Hi all, am in the same camp. Back on it and keen to help motivate others,

Personally taste isn't the big factor when buying whey powders, looking for a clean, high quality, low in sugar/carbs and dairy based whey is the key. Mix with milk and drink in small but more concentrated form couple of times a day

I have a weird thing with milk, where if I drink low fat or skim, my brain thinks of it as a "drink" (i.e., not a big deal) and I consume more without even thinking about it, whereas whole milk registers to me as a "food" and I'm careful about only drinking a reasonable amount. But that may be just my personal…

Cutting out fruit juices and generally being able to avoid sugar treats. Selfishly if I see others eating chocolate bars and cakes and know I've just had a banana and am off to the gym after work it feels good, like a small victory

Fantastic, well done. Love the fact that you lift and found the will

Thanks, sounds good. Will look into it

Cool. In several months time I'll cut back on the cardio and do more strength. 4x a week is impressive. Assuming you squat a lot what weights did you start at vs. what you do now?

Wheatabix with truvia sprinkled on them or low fat Greek yoghurt with raspberries / strawberries. Eat bananas before any workouts. If you want sugar/sweet eat fruit not processed sources. Be careful of fruit juices though and most low fat yoghurt, it's full of sugar (almost chocolate bar like!)

How much cardio vs. strength training? What cardio do you do?

Thanks for the food tips. You look ripped. What's your daily diet like? I'm 6x meals a day but not religiously also learning to love bananas and Rob Bailey tunes, thanks for your tips

Haven't heard of strong lifts 5x5 so will check it out. Need correct technique. Am keen to eventually try crossfit. Like squatting, deadlifting etc. Hate to bench press but it's all good :)

Good luck. Great to have an end goal, key is not to beat yourself up if you have an off day. Also find updating my iPod with new tunes works when struggling to motivate myself to go training. There's some great pump up tracks by Rob Bailey and Zack Hemsey on iTunes. Luke

Michael, hope you had a great day today. There's nothing wrong with liking food. I've always reckoned that you have to eat more to lose weight, you just can't eat what ever you want. How many times a day do you eat?
